The book is itself full of all kinds of references to the "Robot Culture", one of the "newest things" in the technological field.

"Robot" explores the world of the Automata with a very graphical exposition of their history, development and influence all over the planet, from the first ideas of automated machines, to our nowadays humanoid robots. Having some look into their position in Pop culture, such as in films, novels or arts.

This comprehensive guide to robots has fascinating photos to support the text.
The author references Isaac Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics in the 1941 short story "Liar" and mentions the fourth law as well. He also refers to Asimov's 1952 book, I Robot.
