Tex Winter is my great uncle (my dad's uncle). He'll be inducted into National Basketball Hall of Fame this August, my dad is going to the ceremony. Interesting book for me about Tex's background growing up with his sisters (including my grandmother!). He had a great college coaching career before NBA coaching. His triangle offense helped Chicago Bulls win so many seasons during Michael Jordan era!

As my Uncle turns 94, it was awesome to walk through his life and see how he conducted himself as a coach who endured normal ups and downs in a career. When you achieve a National Championship at Kansas State and multiple World Championships in the NBA with the Chicago Bulls and the LA Lakers, you pay attention to what he consistently did as you read this. He devoted himself to his craft and his family. He devoted himself to making a difference and doing it ethically and responsibly. He paid attention to fundamentals. He taught hard work and care as the means of creating consistency across his program while addressing the specificity of each of his players.
