In the same vain as the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings parodies, this tries quite catastrophically badly to be anything but a pile of trite. At the time it was vaguely amusing, with one particular running gag being something I remember with fondness, but truly the whole series took a severe downward spiral since then. I leave two stars for the memory, and the fact that it was grammatically correct with some pretty decent punctuation usage, and I'd rather read this ten times over some other t

A winter/christmas theme for the book club pick. I decided to revisit a book I got fifteen years ago, now I've matured a bit I didnt find it as comical as I did back then. But still alright for a quick read.

"Hither come and suck a pipe, Turn thy brain to cheese and tripe!" Whoops, wrong book. I borrowed the book from someone who had purchased it for a particular reason, but it turned out they did not need it for that reason, but I wanted to read it. It was no Bored Of The Rings, but it was OK.

i am sorry i was stuck on a longass train ride with nothing on hand but this book. it's trite, it's unfunny and is about as good as parody as the scary movies got on with the years. if there was a negative star rating i would give it one.

Ali ...more

It's a bad book and I'm happy that I didn't give more then 10 crowns for it at a second hand-shop... It's a parody written not to be fun but to be provocative, but I can't say that it is as bad as the LOTR-parody I've read, it's better then that one. That's crap beats the most of the bad things I've read and to compare it to this makes this book acceptable.

I'm annoyed I have to give it a star rating. It's not deserving of even that.
Slowly told, boring, not funny, and dreadful to read. Don't waste your time as I did.

This reminds me of movies like Date Movie and Superhero Movie. All it does is take the cheap shots and is never really clever about it's jokes. It was a pain to read and I'm glad it wasn't very long.

I really expected something more. This book had some good moments and good points about "Narnia" but it tired me. As parody, it's not bad but cannot be compared with parodies like "Who's Killing the Great Writers of America?" or even "Nightlight: A Parody".
