A simple book, very nicely done on the life of Margaret Brown, how she became rich and how she survived the Titanic.

A neat story, complete with many pictures and sidebars, on the life of Margaret “Molly” Brown. Brown grew up in poverty, but became rich after her husband’s mine started producing gold, and she was known for her charity work. She is perhaps best known for her heroic actions on the Titanic. A short, concise story on this outgowing, colorful personality, filled with pictures and information, some in “set aside” boxes or sidebars to break up what could have been a lot of gray text. I do wish there would have been a bit more about her uneasy adjustment in the wealthier circles and I would have liked to have known what happened to her grandson (who was ill, and her reason for being on the Titanic in the first place). But a nice starter book, and a good reference for someone doing a report. I especially like the list of references at the end.
