I wish I could have gotten into this more. I loved The Practice of Everyday Life, and I think I decided that Michel de Certeau was someone whose thought really resonated with me. This was kind of a loss. I found a lot of it to be difficult to understand, and what I could decipher of the first section just seemed like a regurgitation of Derrida and of Debord or Baudrillard: words cut loose from the ideas that they formerly signified, mass-produced images existing in themselves rather than as repr ...more
