Recommends it for: hardboiled Western fans
Frank Leslie (pen name for Western author Peter Brandvold) has written a fast-paced, rather gory, but always lively Western. Eighteen-year-old Colter Farrow is on the dodge from bounty hunters from having killed the man who murdered his step-father. Along the way, he manages to get involved in a treasure hunt led by twelve-year-old Bethel Strange who is also looking for her missing father Jed down in ole lawless Mexico. Wild ride—the action never stops. I will have to ccheck out the other titles by Frank Leslie—he has a character named Yakima Henry. How can I resist that?
