A good overview challenging and addressing not only the issues foreign missionaries face, but the own attitudes of our hearts as we think about and approach the topic of Christian missions. I have to admit I didn't like this book as some other resources I have read on the same topic... but it is brief and I appreciated some of the thoughts given.

-كتاب عن المأمورية العظمي وأهم الاقتباسات التي ألهمتني :
-إن أحد أهم مظاهر السير مع المسيح هي التعلم كيف ننهض ثانية بعد السقوط
- ان كلمة " proactive" والتي تفيد الاستعداد للتعامل مع الظروف الصعبة المتوقعة هي مكتوبة علي كل صفحة من صفحات سفر أعمال الرسل .
- إننا نميل إلي التفكير أكثر من العمل ، ونميل إلي الإحساس والشعور أكثر من الاستجابة لما نحس ونشعر وهذا سيقودنا يومًا ما إلي فقدان القدرة علي العمل كلية " سي اس لويس "
- المأمورية العظمي بتعبير العهد القديم هي ان نوصل البركة لكل مجموعة من الناس ونساعدهم لكي يتمتعوا بنعمة وامتياز الانضمام الي شعب الرب من خلال الفداء بالرب يسوع
- العلاقة مع الله تحتاج الي برنامج مستمر وثابت للنمو الروحي ، ولا تعتمد بشكل اساسي علي حدوث تغيرات أو اختبارات مفاجئة مع الله
- عندما نتناول موضوع القيادة فيجب أن نركز على مايلي :
١. النوعية الخاصة للشخصية الروحية للقائد في عمل الله
٢. كيفية اتخاذ القرار في حياة القائد وكيف ينظمها
٣ . الامتلاء بالروح القدس : لان الروح هو الذي يوجه ويدير العمل المسيحي كله
٤. كيفية كسب إخلاص ووفاء الناس الذين حولهم
٥. إجادة تفويض المسئوليات للاخرين ضمن العمل بروح الفريق
٦. مواجهة بشجاعة كل التعقيدات والانقسامات الموجودة داخى الكنيسة
٧. القدرة علي مواجهة سطوة المال في الوسط الكنسي والخدمة المسيحية
٨. الفجور الجنسي من الاسلحة الفتاكة التي ثبتت فعاليتها ويستخدمها ابليس ليهاجم عقول القادة وربما حياتهم الزوجية
٩. ادراك تام للاحباطات التي تسببها لنا محدوديتنا وعجزنا البشري كذلك للناس الذين نعمل معهم ايضا
- المجالات السبعة للتوازن في حياة القائد :
١. التوازن بين الايمان والفطرة السليمة .
علي القادة ادراك ان عليهم ان يلهبوا الاخرين ويقدمون لهم مايتوقعونه منهم ،ولذلك عليهم ان يدركوا مسئولياتهم في تحديد اهداف واقعية "بعيد عن الخيال"
٢. التوازن بين التأديب والحرية .
هناك طريقة اخري للنظر الي القواعد والتعليمات وهي ان نراها في صورة النصح والتحذير المدعم بالقوة للعمل بها
٣. التوازن بين السلطة والشركة مع بعضنا البعض ( التوازن بين اتخاذ القرارات والتشجيع والنصح )
٤. تحديد الاولويات هو تحد دائم امام القادة
٥. التوازن بين الحزم والثبات وبين الاتضاع واللطف
٦. التوازن في مجال التعاليم والمعتقدات "القناعات الشخصية" ، والتوازن بين التعاليم والحياة
٧. تبني نظرة متوازنة عن الله
- ست صفات مميزة للقائد :
١ . يمتلك رؤية
٢. الحساسية والفهم " الذين يبدأون عملا ما والذين يتولون تعزيز وتنميته بعدهم هم نوعان من القادة .. افهم الشخصيات من حولك"
٣. رجال صلاة
٤. مشجعين للجميع
٥. ملتزمين بمعايير عالية في فن الاتصال مع الآخرين
٦. قارئا
- يجب أن امتلئ بالروح القدس مرة بعد المرة وباستمرار لأن الروح القدس يتسرب مني
-ربما لا نستطيع نحن بأنفسنا ان نحمل رسالة الخبر السارة خارج بلادنا ، لكننا كلنا نستطيع أن نؤثر في العالم من حولنا بصلاتنا بطريقة أو بأخرى .
-نحتاج إلى قبول المفارقات والتناقض الظاهري في الشكل الذي ستكون عليه وحدتنا في خضم التنوع والاختلاف
- لا يمكن الحكم على كل الأمور من منظور تقوم قاعدته علي المال فقط
-يفترض أن جميعنا نعيش بالإيمان واثقين في الرب فيما يخص احتياجاتنا ، بغض النظر عن الطريقة أو الكيفية التي يسدد بها هذه الاحتياجات.
-عندما نبتدئ في الصلاة فسوف تواجهنا حالا المواقف الصعبة والمحرجة والتي تختبر مدي اخلاصنا تجاه تحقيق الأهداف التي وضعناها لمجد الرب "لذا يجب أن نكون أكثر حرصا فيما يخص دافعها ومايحركنا)
- من المهم جدا أثناء التجربة أو المحنة أن لا نفقد الرؤية والأهداف التي وضعها الله علي كاهلنا لنعملها،  لأن الله لا يريد أن يحطم أهدافها بل أن ينقينا ويصقلنا ونحن في طريقنا نحوها لننجزها .
- علي المؤمنين أن يتحركوا للأمام من الحياة السطحية مع الله إلي نوعية الحياة التي تقبل التحدي الذي وضعه الرب أمامنا هذه الأيام

Everybody who wants to know more about God should read this book. It is primarily a book about missions, and Verwer successfully imparts to us God's heart for the lost and the courage to take action to advance His kingdom. I love how the book starts with a "Grace-awakened Approach to Missions Work", humbly yet candidly pointing out the common enemies of grace. I think all Christians, whether we feel that we are called to in the mission field or not, should read this. The whole book is a wonderful reminder of why we need to pray, go, and give to missions. This book will stir up boldness and compassion for missions work, wherever God may place you.

What a great, challenging little book. Yeah, it didn't have anything *new* in it that I hadn't heard before on this topic, but it really well gathered all the crucial information and presented it in a really understandable and encouraging way, while still challenging me greatly to examine my heart and the attitudes I have towards m-work.

This is one of my favorite missions books that I highly recommend. It is a very short book and easy to read, but with lots of great and important content. It's been quite a few years since I read it so don't remember specifics - probably should read it again!

Very good overview on every important aspect regarding mission in a kind way. Particulary good was the explanation of "grace-killers" and the emphasis on the importance of a balanced attitude towards different opinions.

Archaic. A couple of OK points, but this guy actually thinks the wef is a good thing for people and the planet, when they are nothing but EVIL.

It really "got me out of my comfort zone". I especially loved the realization that we spend most of our time 'arguing about which music is holy and which is right for the youth' instead of encouraging all forms of methods to ensure that the gospel spreads like bush fire to all corners of the earth. Also the fact that as much as we might not want to discuss about money issue; it is an integral part of a mission. Go out ye and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in Jesus name.
