I am re-reading this book again for the forth time. that alone should tell you how valuable the information contained inside is. I have spent long portions of my life in the jungles of Colombia and Myanmar/Thailand and need to have as much survival information tucked away into my portable CPU (Brain) as possible. Additionally I will be writing my own Jungle survival book, eventually, and it is useful to see how others have laid out the information and formatted the curriculum in the past. Barry Davies book is getting older but 99.9% of the information applies to todays human in a survival situation. Only the GPS information and some medical kit items that were not available then needs to be updated to what is available now.

Survival skills are techniques a person may use in a dangerous situation to save themselves and others. For someone like me, who always lived in cities or at least villages and who never had to really come to terms with the jungle environment, this is a great guide.

I recommend it to everybody who wants to go hiking in the jungle or who are just curious about what they could have to know to survive in such an environment.
