I have had this book it seems as though forever, but I believe I purchased it in the early 90's. I have also been lucky enough to have been to many of the places mentioned, but not all. Thus, I have an excellent reason to return to a favorite place of mine, England! The photography is superb. The picture of Battle Abbey's vault looks fantastic, but when I was in Battle, I discovered there is no way to get inside. When I was there, it was a school. Thus I had to settle for seeing the field where the Battlt of Hastings was fought. It was very difficult to picture that last invasion of England and The British Isles. Highly recommend !!

Beautiful little and informative book. Full page photos on maybe half the book. The text is informative and includes maps of the locations of the historical architecture. I'd like to have the author give me a personal tour of Medieval Britain.
