Heroic Animals Are Smarter Than Jack

Smarter than Jack

by Jenny Campbell

The animals in this book go far beyond the simple companion role, displaying unexpected — indeed remarkable — heroism. Included are such amazing accounts as the King Charles spaniel whose nonstop licking kept a cat alive after a deadly snake bite and a Norwegian forest cat helping an ailing muskrat. A wide variety of caring creatures in these 91 reader-submitted stories rise to the most difficult occasions, from a ewe who knew exactly where to go for help for her newborn lamb to a ginger cat who shows his owners how to rescue a young boy sinking in clay.

Proceeds from Heroic Animals will help humane societies across the United States in their admirable quest to improve animal welfare.
