Have you ever had trouble focusing on your work? Of course you have, you're only human. Well, here are the solutions proposed by this book:

* Just tell yourself to focus.
* If you can't remember to tell yourself to focus, try writing it down on a card that you can carry around in your pocket.
* Buy one of those page per day calendars with jokes or cute kittens on them, so you always know what day it is.

That's about the depth of this book. I read it so you don't have to, you can thank me later. In f

For many people, myself included, staying focused on the task at hand amidst a myriad of distractions is a bit like trying to catch a unicorn. Find your Focus Zone dose a great job of breaking down the reasons behind distraction, and the thought processes to overcome them.

There is something very comforting to know you are not the only one fighting through the issues that in your head seem unique and debilitating and the examples in the book do just that. Comfort and acceptance of the issue is j

Actually, I was building great expectations towards this book as I am a person who really has enormous focus problems. I thought that this book can somehow be helpful and some reviews motivated me to read it. So, sometimes you have to not build big hopes towards a book. In my case, it was exactly like this. I read the book and can't give a score above 2 stars. The main reason is that this book was lying from the very beginning. It made great promises that can give effective strategies to overcom ...more

This is an excellent book for anyone who has a hard time concentrating, or has problems with procrastination, fear of failure, etc. While I found it's explanations of behavior studies, the brain and techniques interesting, it didn't hold my interest long because, through various experiences I've had so far, I managed to learn most of the information in this book on my own. I would recommend it, however, to anyone struggling with focus, getting into "the zone", avoidance, fear, procrastination, e ...more

I'm very glad that I've reread this book. It's a wonderful guide to attention management. The author writes in clear and simple language. Disadvantages of the book are an absence of memorizable illustrations. Sometimes it is difficult to find out where one sub-sub...-sub paragraph and the next one starts. Nevertheless, I'm working on applying the advice from the book in my life and I'm sure the book is worth to be reread one more time. ...more

Contains very helpful tips and information on how to remain more focused on your work, and in your life. The author helpfully brings in other psychology concepts such a flow, the inverted U curve, thought substitution, rescripting, observer self, and more. Included are techniques to conquer common problems such as fear, procrastination, over stimulation (too intense), under stimulation (being bored, and also procrastinating), anxiety, and many others.

Was easy to read and offered a couple of ideas that I may have heard before but never seen elaborated on in depth like the inverted U as a guide for attention. Good attention involves lots of good habits and we can always improve our attention. The book might have been a little bit too long, but I did not find myself bored and the writing style was engaging, will probably read again.
