There’s a drought in the jungle, and the animals are hot and thirsty. Lion thinks that if the animals all work together, they can come up with a solution. Should they try shaking the rain out of the sky, by jumping up and down? When the animals still can’t make it rain, Rabbit, who has always been a talented inventor, comes along. He thinks he can solve this problem all by himself. So he makes a robot, which he just has to get as close to the sky as possible...Turns out, he may need the help of the other animals after all. With quirky artwork and a unique 64-page format, this picture book tells a tale of the power of perseverance and working as a team.
i read 2 books today by this author, i love the illustrations. this was my more favorite of the 2. both are unique ... i would give this book a 5 star or more if it was the size of my kindle. i read on a kindle FIRE ... i love checking out little kids books ... why? illustrations really ...but for truth ... as a kid i was raised on reading thanks to so many folks in my life that really promoting reading and learning ... so i want other little kiddies to get to reading ... so i would say if you are going to read this please do so in real life ... no on the kindle ... a real hand held book .. i wish there was a way to resize it ...but it does not take up the full screen. these illustrations are amazing and that would make them 10 times more awesome.
This is a cute story! It's kind of like a modern day fable.
A large group of animals are worried, because it hasn't rained in so long. There's an inventor rabbit, though, and he knows just what to do to make it rain! Or, does he?
While the story is fun and enjoyable, I just loved the pictures! They almost have a classic look to them, with the exception of the rabbit and his invention. They looked a bit more modern, in my opinion. It created a unique reading experience, though!
This book was a tad on the longer side. It was fine for my 4 year old, but not so much for my 2 year old. It's probably best for 4-5 and up as far as attention span goes. As I was looking for a page count, I realized that there's no numbers on the pages. There are 62-ish pages, depending on what pages you count.
Summary: There’s a drought in the jungle, and the animals are very very thirsty. Lion thinks that if the animals all work together, they can come up with a solution. But Rabbit, an inventor who has a history of solving the animals problems, thinks he can solve this problem all by himself....
Its a cute story with a lot of fun jungle animals in it with a message of the importance of team work. However it doesn't really drive the theme of team work home. So pick up this book for the animals and not for the message. Also this story is a bit long. Probably not a best choice for a story time.
The illustrations, though, are good. Lots of white/open space.
A cute, if rather loooooonnnnnnggggg story of animals running out of water, a rabbit who invents things and the teamwork needed to make something happen.
Not recommended for storytime as the story is much too long.
cute book about team work! I thought the Rabbit was going to prove untrustworthy, but he was reliable. Super cute pictures and kids can learn about problem solving.
