OK, so bought this when the kids were young enough to be able to do these sorts of activities with them, didn't get round to reading it until 50% of them are old enough to now want to spend zero time in my company and their only interactions with me are looks of disdain. That's shit parenting in action right there, folks!
Seriously, though, there are some really lovely ideas in here, as well as endless lists of pointless albums of children's songs that I'm pretty sure noone ever bought. I will say this for my parenting: my children have always listened to REAL music when they've been in my company; one of them even still enjoys it!
A key word in this book’s title is “nurture.” It is much more than a book about using music, great for parents who want to have a musical ambience in their home. It is a bit dated with some of the music titles and websites, always a danger since technology changes so quickly. I mainly read this as a resource for my preschool classroom and it gave me some great ideas.
