4 Forbidden Love Stars!

Because, Miriam the Princess that she neees.,

And, she wants Io. And he is a forbidden love.

Surprisingly A Nice Read!

Why am I surprised. Well, I love the writer but...
A Spoiled not my thing

A Drug addict... is not my thing

The words chosen?

He made her body go "loosey-goosey"

Really not my thing?

But it worked because,

Io is a former cobalt addict and AKM drug counselor, vampire known as much for his abrasive personality and he is the perfect one for Miriam.

You know a book is good when after you are forced to put it down, you spend the entire time away from it worried about how the characters are going to work their way out of the mess they're in! That was me in a nutshell, while reading Rebel Obsession (AKM, #3) by Donya Lynne Rebel Obsession by Donya Lynne. I can quite honestly say I loved this book!

Oh my freaking Micah! If you thought the previous books were awesome, then hold on to your seats. You ain't seen nothing yet! I did the final proof on this book two nights ago and I still haven't been able to get this story out of my head. New characters. New plots. I can't post a review, because I know I will let something slip. I am so lucky to be the editor of this series. I LOVE THESE BOOKS!

I found this series when Rise of the Fallen was being offered for free on Amazon. I liked it enough that I burned through it in a matter of hours and immediately purchased the next books in the series. I raised my rating to 5 stars, because I have gone back and read it a few times. In my mind a book isn't a 5 star unless you go back to read it again. I don't typically do full reviews so bear with me.

Rebel Obsession tells the story of Io and Miriam. In the previous book Heart of the Warrior, Io

The series is picking up. The background is expanding, villains and plots are surfacing and it sets the stage for future action.
The love story was good and compelling and so were the sneakpeaks into Trace and Malek. I so don't like Cordray!

When drugs turn out to be a good thing clique

I just want to say that no book in this series seem to live up to the emotional standpoint like Ari and Sev. I have grown to like Micah in other people's stories just not his.

Ok my review. If Miriam was indeed 47 and that wasn't an error I can feel no sympathy for her. She behaved carelessly. She had no regard for her father nor the extreme amount pressure it was like to be king. I felt she behaved in selfish ways. If she wanted to rebel and be heard
This is one great series with some of the hottest men/vampires to grace the pages of any book. Each book manages to not only advance the secondary story line but give an in-depth look at the start of a romance that was fated but not expected. The writing is wonderful and makes reading a pleasure with few typos or grammatical errors to take anything away from it. The characters are more than fleshed because you have had a chance to start your introduction to them in a previous book so that you ar ...more

So Io finally gets his story and I was really looking forward to it. I knew it would be a difficult trip for him and Miri especially since Io feels like he just lost his best friend. I think Miri is my favorite female so far in this series. She is having trouble finding herself under her father’s rule and turns to drugs to escape. She is very strong though and the reader is shown how she starts to grow and discover herself as Io slowly introduces her to another world.

This story really shows how

In this fourth book of the series, we focus on Io and his desire of the King's Daughter, Miriam. We also find out more about Apostle and what happened with him and who is behind all of the Cobalt or Blue as they sometimes call it. What happens when Persephone calls Sev while he and Io are out on patrol? What has happened? Why is it that Io is not afraid of the King at all and what he can do to Io for disobeying his orders for staying away from Miriam? What plan does Bishop have for Apostle? Why ...more

I love books where the main character turns it around and becomes someone you like and admire, rather than being a complete twonk! This is what Io has done for me in Rebel Obsession. With a bit of help from Sev and a new insight given by the mating bond, Io is able to overcome some of his prejudices and attitudes. He is not all bad - far from it. He was a Cobalt addict, but has beaten it. He is now a counsellor for the AKM program, helping others as he himself was helped. Miriam is an addict, bu ...more

This book is my SECOND favorite story. Sev and Ari's is my first but this book, Rebel Obsession had so much twists and turns and danger that will leave you excited to read the next page!

Both Io and Miriam had gone through withdrawl from cobalt addiction. Io had first met Miriam when she went overdose in book two but Miriam is not normal girl. She is the king's daughter. And her father and her had a such a strong issue that made her use cobalt to escape from her father's overprotectiveness. The k

Rebel Obsession (All The King's Men, #4) is a Paranormal Suspense Adult Romance. I would love to give it 4.5 stars. It is very well written and essentially fast paced. I got so caught up in the story I forgot to make notes!
Virtually all of the characters on Io's AKM team are embroiled in Io and Miriam's story. They all become more complex and intriguing.
The Drecks and their involvement in Cobalt is surprising and frightening.

Io and Miriam are the two characters to watch out for both addicts of some Nasty stuff one clean and trying to help the other.... I fell in love with them in Heart of a Warrior for the simple reason Io need to focus on something besides his stupidity that was spewing out his mouth where his best friend Ari was concerned... So Miriam comes along and Rocks his world but she is the princess of their race so she is a BIG NO NO!!! does he care that also would be a BIG NO!! these two are fighting her ...more

My favourite so far. It had a bit of Micha, Sam and quite a bit of hot, scary, complicated Trace in it :-)

The main story was of Io and Miriam, the King's willful, kick ass daughter though. I initally didn't like Io, because of how he treated his best friend Ari in the the last book, when Ari discovered he was gay and mated with Sev. In this book Io is a compassionate, understanding, supportive and non-judgmental person when it comes to his role of counsellor, yet he turns his back on his lifelo

Another wonderful story from Donya Lynne’s AKM series!

Former addict and self-proclaimed bachelor, Io finds himself no longer in need of the single life, but the woman he is drawn to is, by law, off limits to him ~ Miriam, the king’s daughter.

Miriam is an addict, and Io helps get her through her first overdose of cobalt, but what happens when she overdoses a second time in her attempt to “escape” the confines of being the king’s daughter?

The story of Io and Miriam will grab your heart and squeeze

I took my time really starting this book. After the last book in this series I thought I knew exactly how it would go and just didn't want predictable. I was wrong, there are things that unfold in this story that I couldn't have guessed. I really do like this world that the author has created and I have enjoyed all the stories so far. Io and Miriam have not been the characters that I am looking forward to reading- I am obsessed with Trace. This book like the others have me just a little bit more ...more

Great addition to a stellar series! Author successfully redeems Io from the previous book and his romance is full of heart and heart. The world building continues strong and the secondary characters delicious.Micah and Trace continue to be big parts of this story and I *adore* that.

I acknowledge the romance and plot happen at lightning speed but it's in a favorite meal kind of way, not a bag of junk food way. Things are wrapped up cleanly and neatly but I read romance for the HEA anyway without

The fourth book in the series, so far, is my favorite. I didn't think with the little bit I knew about the hero, Io, coming into this story, that I would like it. But, the love story between he and his mate, Miriam, tugged at my heart. And the way the other characters revolved around them in this story was brilliant. I didn't mind getting side-tracked at all. Even the villain, Apostle, turned out interesting and I may even root for him. But the best part was anything to do with Trace! He has bee ...more

Oh Io, Io, Io... Poor Io. Will this bad boy ever learn? He screws up his relationship with his best friend when he finds out he's gay. And he actually takes a mate! The Kings' daughter no less! Will this rebel pay for his sins or live to tell about it? I love how Io progresses and starts to see the error of his ways. What he always thought to be the most disgusting thing ever,he starts to realize it really doesn't matter if his best friend is gay, as long as he's happy. His story had me laughing ...more

I've absolutely torn through this book, it is that good! All the characters from the previous books are here and this volume of All the King's Men series is devoted to Io and Miriam. These characters are strong and can stand up to each other, rebels, and their romance just sizzles the pages. The story is easy to read, the world continues to grow through each volume, and the characters are believable. We can relate to each one easily. Can hardly wait till the next book comes out!

Really enjoyed this book! I liked the relationship between Io and Miriam, that they refused to give up on each other. They have both went through so much and it was heartwarming, the way they depend on each other to get thru these things. It's also great that Io is finally learning to reevaluate his relationship with his BFF Ari and starts to get a better outlook on everything. Def recommend for fans of the series!

I freakin love this series. I was not sure if I would enjoy this book about IO. I was not happy with how he treated Ari and Sev in Heart Of A Warrior. I think this is my favorite in the series so far.... I can't explain it but I went from wanting to strangle Io to feeling compassion and caring for him. His story with Miriam is romantic and exciting. I can't wait to see where the next book goes. Micah and Trace are well... Micah and Trace, have to love those guys!

Another great book in this series. After Heart of the Warrior I didn't know how I felt about Io but after reading this one I can't help but love him. Miriam was his perfect match. I really like how all of the stories intertwine and we learn about what is going on what some of the other characters as well. This one deal with an addiction and I felt like the author did an excellent job of portraying the problems that cause and come from this. I highly recommend this series.

This was one of my favourite AKM books - forbidden love and all that.

Miriam is the daughter of the King and Io one of the Kings Men. They are attracted to each other from the set go and boy is it hot when they come together. They both know that if they are found out it could mean death, but their obsession with each other is too damn hot.

These books are amazingly written and I totally love them. Thank you for a good read.
I rate this book a 3.5. The main characters Io and Miriam were okay but their story wasn't overly exciting. I enjoyed the continued stories of the secondary characters such as Micah, Trace, Severin, Ari, Malek, and Tristan. Due to events that has happened in this book with these secondary characters; lets me know that there's some things to look forward to in future AKM books. It has really piqued my interest.

“Whereas males of both species played the field in similar ways, a human marriage had nothing on a vampire mating. A marriage could be dissolved by a judge with a little slip of paper. A marriage could be ended in a blink if the humans got tired of each other or fell out of love. With vampires, there was no dissolving a mating. A mated pair didn't grow tired of one another, and they certainly didn't fall out of love. When two vampires mated, a link formed to tether them to one another on a level that transcended the physical plane and fused them into one on a spiritual and emotional level, which was why the loss of a mate left a male in a state of despair if it didn't kill him outright. A mating was for life and plainly demonstrated the vampire race's link to the animal kingdom.” 2 likes
“Miriam woke up to find Io sitting on the floor next to her. His gaze brightened and he smiled. "How do you feel?" he said. He helped her sit up. "Like shit." She groaned. "Don't get me wrong, I feel better than I did, but damn, this shit sucks." Who the hell had let in the army of Terminators to play Rock 'Em Sock 'Em inside her body? Io chuckled at her surprisingly unfeminine manner of speaking and sat down beside her. "I gave you a potent detox with my venom. I needed to get the cobalt out of your system." "Ah, I see." She leaned her face into her hands. "Great. Just great. I don't know whether to thank you or hit you." How did she always seem to put her worst face forward around this guy? The one male she wanted to impress and all she did was behave like a strung-out junkie around him. The vampire version of Amy Winehouse. How could he not be impressed? Uh-huh, right.” 2 likes
