The first thing that attracted me to this book was the title, Excuse My Fairy. I also like the cover and the story premise of a broken fairy sounded fun and interesting. Draybeth (I like that name, too) was banished from her fairy home of Spelza because she is magically “broken”. She is now living in Wadestrom where she runs a bar while fighting off the darkness that is growing in her. Bamzar is a realm created for magical beings and is policed by the Lawmen who are called Impassables and not af ...more

Excuse My Fairy is the first book in a new paranormal series entitled Misbehaving Magics and my first time reading a Kinley Baker book but won't be my last experience with this author in either case. Excuse My Fairy is the delightful beginning to what promises to be an intriguing series set in the world of the fae and other creatures amidst political and metaphysical intrigue as the banished daughter of the Fairy King becomes the first pawn in a game taking place in a changing world.

My Review:
This was an interesting book set in a completely different world. Draybeth is a fairy who is broken. She's fighting the darkness within and just found out that her mate, Barrett, is an Impassible... a human who is unaffected by magic. There's a lot left unanswered by this book, but it was still incredibly interesting and entertaining.

This book takes place in the future and I wasn't exactly clear on how the world exactly works. But there are two major groups: beings of Magic and the Imp

Excuse My Fairy is the first in the brand new Misbehaving Magics series by Kinley Baker. I had never read anything by this author and had no idea what to expect. A fairy tale, dark fairies, romance... anything could be possible with a fairy-themed book. I truly loved the take on fairies that the author took with this story. There are no happy, flighty fairies in this book! It takes place in almost a post-apocalyptic world, in many ways much more futuristic than our own. But there was just enough ...more

A very original, entertaining and short paranormal read that keeps you turning its pages until the very end! Excuse My Fairy is exciting, thrilling, romantic (in a different way), fun and satisfying. A definite must read for any fans of the genre looking for something different to satisfy their paranormal romance craving in one sitting :)

Draybeth is a fairy, a broken one at that. She is a beautiful, strong and independent female that just wants to live in peace, broken or not! She’s carried on

Seriously, this is an awesome book, from the title to the Epilogue. I was attracted from the title alone, and do not regret that attraction at all. Baker presents a most interesting twist on the usual stories about "fairies" and brings it all together in a perfect paranormal romance package. Beware the steamy, sex scenes, you might get a little hot and bothered, not that it is a bad thing. I found the characters to be so well defined that they popped off the page and into my mind's movie project ...more

The dynamic between the fairy heroine and her succubus best friend was fun. They are both feisty and aren't afraid to drop a few "F-bombs" here and there, which works for me. The writing toward the second half seemed to have lots of short, choppy sentences and that was a bit jarring at times, but it didn't stop me from reading on. There is no sex until late in the book and it is tame so you don't have to worry about getting too hot and bothered if you're reading on a break at work, or at a coffe ...more

Do you believe in fairies?

Based on Excuse My Fairy, the Misbehaving Magics series has an amazing amount of potential. This debut novel builds the foundation and provides the background information without giving everything away – leaving tons of future story lines.

Since this was my first book written by this author I wasn’t sure what to except. While there was a few rough patches…the overall story is amazing and she wove together a beautiful romance. She nailed the art of character and plot dev
