A thoroughly fun read about an awkward, unnoticed girl who has never kissed a boy, but really wants to. A similar concept to the more well-known "Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging." From one embarrassing venture to the next (not on purpose!), Holly tries her hardest to impress the hunky Luke, but is, not-surprisingly, unsuccessful. Her character, in her struggles, is endearing and relatable.

I think this book would be a good read for young girls, around the same age as Holly (fourteen). And I'm not just talking about British teens. Holly is going through feelings and events that lots of girls go through (never being kissed and struggling to fit in with a family that is different from her, to name a few). With that said though, this book will never be classified as "great" literature. But it is an endearing fluff book that teaches young girls that patience, and a rearrangement of one's priorities, can make all the difference in your life.

really recommend for ages 11 to 14.

probably more like a 4⭐️ read but for personal reasons i’m giving it 5 xD (i know it’s not the greatest piece of literature but it was definitely my comfort read for so long and it was reread SO MANY times)

Holly's never kissed a boy before and can't summon the courage to talk to the boy she likes. She has super-strict parents who don't let her do anything. She doesn't fit in with her athletic family, especially since she hates sports. She thinks life couldn't possibly get any worse.

But then it does. Holly loses her best friend to Claudia, who has had tons of boyfriends and has super-cool parents. Now Holly doesn't know what to do. Not only is Claudia stealing her best friend, but now she has her sights set on Holly's crush.

Holly's not sure who to turn to, but she's hoping that something changes soon...and for the better.

If you like THE CONFESSIONS OF GEORGIA NICOLSON, don't miss out on this humorous British tale.

Hey, it was OK.

No masterpiece, of course. An abundance of exclamation marks, indeed! But whatever, bro; it's one of those books that'd probably be really good for any eleven-to-fourteen year old reader who read all of the Georgia Nicolson saga and is still going through their "I only read domestic drama" phase.
Unless that isn't a universal thing and it was just me who did that.

Plus, in the li'l foreword it says the author's from the same neck of the woods as me, so I guess it gets a tiny bonus.

so chick flick and yet so good. it follows the story of a girl who had a crush on someone and the story goes on following her journey towards getting that perfect snog. only to find out it wasn't something she dreamt of, not with how it went.. and not with whom she wants it with.
