This was my first read by this author, and I found the world she had built for Psychic Visions rather intriguing – humans with supernatural powers, how can you go wrong with that? I thought Garden of Sorrow started out strong but as the story went on, the suspense continued to hold my attention, however my interest in the main characters, specifically the heroine began to dwindle. I expected the resistance he put up in light of her newly acquired abilitie
Alexis Gordon is gifted, but she doesn't really know it. She just sees it as a 'green thumb' and loves to work with plants. When a slip in the mud sends her tumbling into a construction pit, she discovers the grave of a murdered child. This book definitely starts with quite a bang. A bang that wakes Alexis up to a whole new world of abilities.

But this grave may be just the beginning. When Detective Kevin Sutherland takes the case to the famous (to readers of the series) Stefan Kronos, things get
A tough one to rate. While the story was good, there were a few things that I felt a little "off" about. It dragged a little. In part because it always feels kind of hopeless. However, that is also part of its allure. The fact that murderers can so easily hide because of how they are actually killing people and the fact that there is no way to be able to truly prove it. The second thing that feels a little off is that there seems to be quite a few people with this gift of reading energy congrega ...more

I have fallen in love with this series. I love the depth to each story, and this one is no different. Each character has similar but different psychic abilities, which makes it interesting. The difference with this book is that the lead characters, Alexis and Kevin, both have psychic abilities although Alexis is new to hers and more powerful than she realizes. Stefan is a central character in all of the books and a bit of a mystery wrapped in an enigma. We do however get to see more of what he i ...more

This is the fourth book in the Psychic Visions series. This is an awesome series if you enjoy stories about psychics and cops working together to stop the bad guys. And maybe I'm weird, but I think those books are great fun! Similar in style to Kay Hooper's Bishop series, and in some ways even better. I would have loved to sit and read this book cover to cover, and if I didn't have a family, and a job, and Christmas to think about, I would have!

I read this story immediately after reading books 1 & 2 from the series, so I might have psychic visions overload...I liked the premise of the story, with Alex finding the bones and her and Kevin searching for answers, I think my favorite character in this story was Alexis' friend Scott. His Irish brogue and humor lightened the story. Where I struggled in this story was withAlexis waffling back and forth, about her abilities and Kevin. Just when I thought she was becoming stronger and moving ...more

Whoa. This is by far the best one yet! So much intensity, drama, SCARY STUFF. Ugh definitely made the mistake of reading this in my room without the lights. T_T I loved the way Alexis struggled through her new abilities, and I loved it even more that Kevin and Stefan (Stefan!!!!) were there to metaphorically slap her back into shape. I read the eighth book first (I know) and the character had similar problems with her fear being h

Alexis Gordon is a gardener for the town she lives in, her life full of loss. She thought her green thumb working with plants was normal, until the day she finds the bone of a finger in one of the park's garden bed. Suddenly Alexis is thrown into a psychic race to find the killer of this child and learn the truth. Det. Kevin Sutherland, is stunned to learn Alexis is unaware of her psychic abilities, his own abilities are needed for his job. But, it's something he doesn't talk about easily. When ...more

As with the other books in this series, I was highly entertained by both the danger and the sense of wonder that Alexis experiences as she begins unlocking and understanding her power. Her interactions with Kevin, who willingly embraces his gift and has learned to hone and refine it, kept me captivated. And of course there's Stefan... I think I want to read his story soon.

The mystery this time around was nicely creepy. Alexis' insights into the victims is heartbreaking. The killer is just shudde

Nice paranormal suspense

I won this book in a contest. This was the first time I read this author and I liked this book. Mystery, romance, and suspense are always appealing to me. I found the theme intriguing, psychics including those who are cops using their abilities to save others and fight evil even though it can take a lot from them. The heroine was coming into her own awareness of her abilities so we got to learn the psychic ways from her love interest and a mentor. The pace was fast, grabb

'Garden of Sorrow' was an intense, psychological thriller. The storyline was quite intense. I was pulled in from the beginning and I couldn't let go. The storyline was very creative and it intertwined with so many levels that I was hooked. Well written and incredibly well thought out. The way the story played out had so many twists and it had such intense suspense. The characters were amazing. Alexis is such a powerful lead. Not only for her blossoming psychic abilities but for her compassion, n ...more

This book was not as good as the ones before it, this is due to the shift in plot focus from triller with a little romance to a romance with a wildly elaborate thriller and yes that distinction makes a huge difference. The plot was too complicated at times and made the surprise twist just another WTF moment and there were lots of those by the end of the book. I do hope this is not the pattern for the next book as I almost lost the will to read this one as it just kept pushing the boundary of wha ...more

Another good installment in the series. The feel of this book was a bit darker than the other books ive read so far but that was to be expected with thia story line. I really liked Alexis. Her character reminds me so much of myself. I liked that she didnt have much knowledge about her gift and we got to aee her growth throughout the story. All the guys in these books have been dreamy with Kevin being no different. I did notice more grammatical errors in this book but that didnt take away from th ...more

"Garden of Sorrow" is the 4th book in the Psychic Visions series. With a fantastic plot and realistic characters, Dale keeps you turning the pages in this psychic vision crime novel. Although this is a series, this book can be read as a stand alone, but beware you WILL want to read them all. Highly recommended to all readers.

Ebook-Garden of Sorrow

I have one word amazing. The first three were great. This one so far my favorite. Just when I was sure who the villain was....then came the twist. It kept me on the edge every moment. I am looking forward to the next book. Can the next book top this one! I guess I will find out. This book is recommended for a more mature reader, in my opinion.

What a Dick line... "here is the one and only spare bedroom, I don't get many visitors, at least none that sleep in here." Really?!? I would have left, after calling him a "Dick"... not slept with him! Ruined! He sucks now. I had to skip the following love scene... I might have puked.
Well, it was still really good. Lots of psychic mumbo jumbo:)
I was not disappointed, Dale Mayer delivers!
I found this book so relate able, in terms of our inner fears paralyzing us from proceeding & succeeding.
The characters are realistic and Alexis and Kevin reminds me of my relationship, LOL, it's all good.
I was pleased that it took me a few guesses before I figured out the villain, great twists and turns.
I can't wait for the next book!

I really enjoyed this book, it was a great plot, great writing, and of course a fantastic ending. It'll keep you guessing! I love Stefan and Scott, they were great supporting characters. What I loved too, is seeing Stefan again, as he appeared in this series before.

absorbing tale of an entire family infected by evil, jealousy, revenge and psychic possession and manipulation by a serial killer....and the psychics who uncover the evil and stop it cold. and a love story twined around it.

Wow I can honestly say I'd dislike living in Dale Mayer's imagination , Garden of Sorrows was way creepy and sad. Don't know if I would have handled things as well as Alexis did. Am really enjoying The Physic Suspense Series

Completely in love with this series. It is well written and the characters are easy to get attached to. I find myself rooting for them. Hope the rest of the series is as awesome as what I have read so far.

I started off enjoying these books but they are all too similar in story line. I will still read the next installment as I already have it on my kindle. I gave it a 3-star as it is still somewhat entertaining.
