Most people know me as half of the Piece O' Cake Designs team. With my partner, Linda Jenkins, we have written many quilt books. I am also a wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter. I love my family and friends!

Travel is part of my life - for both work and pleasure. I travel and teach quilting nationally and internationally. It's great fun to meet new people and see new places! My husband, Steve, and I enjoy traveling together - hiking when we can.

With every day, I am more aware of the fact that each day is a gift to be embraced. I do my best to do that with a smile and open heart.

Most of the first 2/3 of this book is instructions. Quilting basics are covered, but the real treasure are the extremely detailed instructions for different kinds of applique. Detailed instructions with step-by-step pictures. And instructions for left-handed quilters, which I am not but I appreciate that it is included. Not sure how likely I am to use their actual patterns when I finally delve into needle-turn applique, but the instructions are absolutely what I will turn to. My favorite pattern is Blowin' in the Wind on page 87.

Patterns are cute. Good ideas for quilts. Instructions are clear and complete. I always enjoy books by Becky and Linda.
