(review by Max's mom) For such a short book, this was a great introduction to a wide variety of scientific fields and some of the recent discoveries in those fields--even I learned some new facts, for example that elephants can "hear" other elephants far away by using their feet to feel vibrations. My 8-year-old son was excited to read about all of them, including the ones on the non-illustrated page at the end. I think this is a great introduction to science as a career choice for interested kids.
