But Hedgehug has a big problem. The holiday party is only hours away, and he hasn’t found a Halloween costume. His friends are there to help. Will they figure out a costume for Hedgehug in time? Or will he have to stay home and miss the best party ever?

Hedghug's Halloween by Benn Sutton tells the tail of a loveable hedgehog in search of a Halloween costume. Hedgehug is preparing to relax for the evening when his friend, Hannah, pays him a visit. He cannot figure out why she is dressed up as a cowgirl.

Hannah reminds Hedgehug that it is the night of the biggest Halloween party in the entire forest. Having completely forgotten, Hedgehug begins the frantic search for a costume. But things don't go exactly as planned. Will Hedgehug be able to find the perfect costume in time for the party?

I really enjoyed reading this book. The illustrations were simplistic, yet adorable. However, I do wish that the story would have been a slightly longer. I feel that the resolution to Hedgehug's problem was a bit rushed and unexplained. Overall, I believe that children ages 3-9 will love following Hedgehug on his Halloween adventure.

Little book! Around 7x8" I think. This little halloween idea and costume seeking book is full of texture and friendship. It is cute and another great one to pull out for sequencing. One to throw in the Fall/Autumn pile.

Hedgehug completely forgot about Reginald's Halloween party and he has no costume. He goes to each of his friends for help, but the costumes either rip, pop, or fall apart. Discouraged, Hedgehug decides to go home. His friend's work together to come up with the perfect costume for Hedgehug. Hedgehug goes to the party as a cactus and everyone cheers.

Hedgehug's Halloween is a cute story about friendship for younger readers. The pictures are bright, colorful, and perfectly capture the fun side of Halloween. The story itself is a bit lackluster, but it's holiday theme keeps it enjoyable. It will amuse most readers during the Halloween season.

My kids really liked Hedghug's Halloween. They loved the story and guessing what costumes Hedgehug would try. They asked for - and we read - this book many times. I liked the book's sweet story, cute illustrations, adorable characters, and a nice message about helping your friends.

Not too sure about this one, it looked cute on the library shelf but not so cute at home. The small size makes the text look crowded on the page. I'm also not sure about Hedgehug's final costume - a cactus or a pickle?
