I'm interested in the way literature can help us explore aspects of the human condition - particularly suffering, sex, love, faith, and redemption. My favourite stories are those in which a character takes a journey, either a physical journey to a new and exciting place, or a personal journey in which he or she learns something about himself/herself.

I'm also interested in how aesthetic elements such as art, architecture, food, drink, and music can be used to tell a story or to illuminate the traits of a particular character. In my writing, I combine all of these elements with the themes of redemption, forgiveness, and the transformative power of goodness.

When you forgive, you in no way change the past--but you sure do change the future.

Julia and Gabriel have come a long way. They first met when Julia was seventeen years old. Eight years later, it’s safe to say that their road to a HEA wasn’t easy, and yet neither time nor circumstances and enemies could prevent them from falling in love with each other and being together now and forever. In Gabriel’s Redemption we see Gabriel working as a professor at Boston University while Julia has just finished her first year as a PhD at Harvard.

"For you, my love, I would endeavor to pluck the stars from the sky, only to shower them at your feet."
Julia pressed her hand over her heart. "How do you do that?"
"Do what?"
"Say things like that. That's beautiful."
He offered her a half-smile. "I've spent years studying poetry, Mrs. Emerson. It's in my DNA."

"This time I won't stop," he whispered, his large hand pulling up her dress in order to rest on her thigh.
"There's no air conditioning in here, so things might get a little…hot." He stroked the skin of her thigh with the back of his hand. "I would expect nothing less, Professor."

"So how good was the sex we just had? On a scale of one to transcendent?"
"Earth-shattering and tie forgetting."

Gabriel’s Redemption is the interesting story arc to Julia and Gabriel’s mutual journey. Interesting because we see a more mature Julia—at least most of the time. When arguing she can stand up for herself and maintain her opinion. Even though Gabriel is a well-respected and established Dante specialist, Julia did her own research and is not afraid to stick to her alternative point of view. Interesting also because we get to know more about Gabriel’s difficult past and we see Julia and Gabriel talking about family planning (no spoiler, read the blurb). In fact, family and kids are major topics in Gabriel's Redemption. Also, I really loved the Superman references and in this context I enjoyed Julia and Gabriel’s banter and teasing. It was sweet and hilarious and counterbalanced a couple of other somewhat wistful scenes.

Basically Gabriel’s Redemption is about guilt and fears and making the ‘right’ choices. It’s about making amends with the past, accepting what can’t be changed or reversed anymore. But of course it’s also about love. Love eases past mistakes and paves the path to a brighter future. Life bears uncertainty and sometimes we must take risks to ensure a happier future. That’s what Julia and Gabriel experience in Gabriel’s Redemption. We also see a Gabriel who’s deeply in love with his Julia. He clearly worships the ground she walks on. Their love for each other equals breathing because it is so vital. Julia changed Gabriel's life completely and his heart beats for her and vice versa; nothing can come between these two because they’re meant for each other.

Minor quibbles
I know that we ALL believe in something or someone and that's perfectly fine. However, as a non-religious person the praying and talking about God didn't appeal to me. I found it a tad too preachy and that's not something I'm looking for in my books. Redemption is a very interesting subject, and yet it isn't necessarily linked to God and prayers. Making amends with yourself and with the people you've hurt doesn't require a faith in God or a higher power.

The Chocolate Body Paint scene left me somewhat underwhelmed because I honestly expected a longer and more sensual interlude.

Putting so many sentences in parentheses is distracting.

And last but not least the ending was somewhat too melodramatic and corny for my liking.

Gabriel's Redemption is an engagingly penned and very good conclusion to Julia and Gabriel's journey. It ties up all the loose ends nicely, and I'm pretty sure that readers who loved the first two books will also devour their final story arc. And while I did enjoy Gabriel's Redemption, Gabriel's Inferno will always be my favorite book of the trilogy.

On the one hand, I’m sad to see this trilogy come to an end. On the other hand, I’m very glad that Julia and Gabriel have found their HEA. It goes without saying that Gabriel's Redemption is a must read for every fan of The Sexy Professor.

Recommended read.

My Julia and Gabriel:

Burried deep in books and lectures, Julia is concentrating on her PhD. studies. When Gabriel's sudden urge to start family complicates things in their personal live, it seems like there may be troubles in the paradise. Will Gabriel, who is still facing demons from his past, be able to achieve long-seeked peace and find redemption from his sins?

4.5 STARS (spoiler-free review)

It's no a secret that I admire SR's writing style. I was excited and curious to see where he would take Gabriel who is one of my most favourite bookish characters ever. And SR definitely didn't disappoint. His ability to express deepest feelings, fears and desires of his characters via words in this book was astonishing. He played with my emotions, he did it in very subtle way and I loved it.

However, most of all, I loved the fact that author kept characters flawed, showing their positive and negative sides. He didn't turn their lives into unbelievable fairytale and neither he created forced drama. Gabriel's temper and controlling nature showed its ugly head, as did Julia's weakness and tendency to turn into herself at the sight of confrontation. But readers will also witness Gabriel's loving and caring character as well as Julia's never-ending compassion. I hold these characters close to my heart and it was a pleasure to spend more time with them.

Gabriel's Rdemption is thoughtful and sensual story about love, sins, hopes and redemption. Once again, author managed to make me emotional as well as he made my heart race with anxiety while I was reading this book. Beside heart-warming romance, a lof of important and serious topics are discussed. A SMART ROMANCE I call it.

If you enjoyed previous books in this series, you will love this instalment as well. Gabriel's series is one of those stories that stay with you forever!

**Please don't kill me for this!**

To say that this book disappointed me would be an understatement.

Let me be quite frank..

Was this book needed?

This could have stayed a beautiful duet with an amazingly long epilogue at the end of book two.
But the author went ahead and wrote a book 3, which everyone.. including myself were super excited about.. BUT unfortunately the story didn't work for me.. it felt like too much was happening.. and when the book ended.. it felt incomplete.

Did I enjoy this book?

the last 30% held my attention, but before that.. it was too much of fillers because the main story was the last 30%

Did I understand this book?

It had too much about Dante and the other St. people, like for a person who doesn't know any of this i.e ME; It barely made sense.

This book was all over the place, it had toooooo much going on.
Too many stories mixed into one book.. too many lives mangled up.
Plus, this book was very slow paced.

It hurts me, that I didn't enjoy this book. Especially after waiting for it since more than a year.
The authors writing, is magnificent. Its beautiful. I have no words to describe it. Its simply just WOW.
But the story was very mediocre. :(

“Then I’m glad I’m your first.”
She tightened her grip on his hand. “You’re my last, Gabriel. My only.”

I love Gabriel. Like tooooooo much!
“Superman,” she muttered. “I should have known you had magic in your genes.”
“Why, yes, Mrs. Emerson, I do have magic in my jeans. I’d happily put on a magic show for you at any time. All you need do is ask.”

Julia irritated the fuck out of me, she acted like one selfish bitch who deserved a good spanking.
But I think her selfishness too made me love Gabriel more... we saw his inner goodness... He was fab! I loveeeeeeeeee him.

The author should have left this series a duet, left the untouchable untouched.. because the first two books were more than perfect.. they were a class apart.. The third book doesn't live up.
I'm glad that the author wanted to show us the ending of everyone's story [Simon, Paul, etc] but they did not fit in.. it was like too much was happening which was not needed.. because all I wanted was Professor Emerson and his sexiness.. not the other fillers.

The long awaited conclusion to the Gabriel's Inferno series is finally here. I feel like I've been waiting for an eternity to read this. So what did I think... well, Professor Emerson never disappoints me! I loved it! It moved at a bit of a slower pace at some parts then the first two novels, but it was still an incredible 5 star read for me!

Gabriel and Julianne are together. Married. Happy. She is at Harvard working towards her degree, and he is teaching at Boston. There are still those pesky rumors flying around, and people would would love to tear them apart, but they are strong. Julia has always been everything to Gabriel. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for her.

This between Julia and Gabriel are always intense, passionate, sensual, erotic and beautiful. Museum scenes are always significant and noteworthy in this series. You can feel the heat, love and desire between this couple. It’s erotic, sexy, yet very classy at the same time.

Gabriel and Julia have a wonderful relationship, but it is far from perfect. They have obstacles to overcome, like any couple or any marriage. Gabriel has some things from his past come out again. He has to learn to be able to trust Julia with everything. There is no doubt how much he loves her, needs her, desires her. He just has to learn to let her be there for him like he’s always there for her. Even though some things were slightly predictable, I love the direction this book took and adored the ending.

Gabriel Emerson is one of the most beautiful, romantic, and swoon worthy men I have ever had the pleasure to read about. I’ve loved him more in each book. His love, devotion, and charming nature just draws me in. Although Julia is usually timid, she shows more strength in this book. I enjoyed watching her character grow. This is an unforgettable series I would recommend to everyone. It’s so well written, and a memorable and timeless, all consuming love story. If you haven’t met Professor Emerson, pick up this series right away!

SOOOO, this was a highly anticipated book this last year for me. Did I love it,...yes of course. It's the Professor, how can you not love him. But some of the book, Julia and Gabriel irritated me to no end as well, a lot was unexpected.

Okay, so everybody knows the first year of marriage is supposed to be the toughest. That's when you are learning more about each other and if you haven't lived with each other prior to marriage, you are learning what you've really married as well, lol. But this was supposed to be Julia and Gabriel. The intellectual, sensible, deeply in love couple that we all adore. As much as I know real life can be hard, I really hated seeing them argue so much and keep secrets from the other. It really surprised me and seemed almost out of character to me. I know, I know, they eventually came clean with each other and worked it all out, but it seemed to take awhile. I guess since the blurb talked about Gabriel wanting a baby, I thought the book would mostly be about baby making, and standing together against outside trouble, rather than fighting each other. I even figured Julia would be a little hesitant about a baby because of her school at first, but honestly she came across bratty and selfish a lot, which wasn't like her in the beginning. It almost made her seem undeserving of Gabriel after everything he had sacrificed for her. Ya know??

With that^ said, there was more about the book I loved than didn't. I loved how everything tied up in the end. The ending was so perfect. Gah, could there be a more perfect husband than Gabriel. He would literally give up anything for Julia.

I ended up feeling a little more sympathy toward Paulina than I ever thought I would, but as always Christa was still a bratty, slutty, B!t*h thinking everyone owed her something but she ended up getting put in her place in the end. And Paul,

I usually always want a little bit more. Even though I wouldn't have minded knowing where they were, I don't know, five years from the end, I can honestly say I'm not sad this series is over. It feels so complete and happy. Also, knowing that we will get to see them again in Sylvain Reynard's next series helps a little too. It was an incredible series with incredible writing and characters. I think I will always hold a special place in my heart for the professor. :)

★★★★★! Gabriel’s Redemption, book 3 of 3. The conclusion of Professor Gabriel Emerson’s courtly seduction of his chaste student Julia!

“I’d never argue with a naked woman.”

Books in Gabriel’s Inferno trilogy should be read in order:
Book 1: Gabriel’s Inferno
Book 2: Gabriel’s Rapture
Book 3: Gabriel’s Redemption

Rich on symbolism, depth, history and divine message the Gabriel’s Inferno trilogy is set against the backdrop of Dante’s Devine Comedy. The ingenuity of using Dante’s journey in professors Emerson’s lectures, life lessons, experiences and parallels that can clearly be drawn between Dante – Gabriel, who after having moved through hell meets up with his Beatrice – Julia, to be guided into paradise. Simply divine!

In Gabriel’s Inferno, book 1 Professor Gabriel O. Emerson, Dante specialist for the Department of Italian Studies at the University of Toronto , and MA Grad student Julianne Mitchell, Julia embark on a whirlwind courtship against the university’s strict non-fraternization policy.

In Gabriel’s Rapture, book 2, Gabriel and Julia’s chaste courtship has moved into a courtly seduction and beyond. But there’s much standing in their way and they soon find themselves fighting against, secrets, jealousy, lies, deceit, but most importantly the truth as their clandestine relationship is exposed.

In Gabriel’s Redemption, book 3 Gabriel and Julia are settling into the aftermath of book 2. Scorned enemies and villains, set on revenge are still wreaking havoc on their relationship.

Yet their biggest threats will always come from within; The foundation, development and success of their relationship hinges on personal confidence and growth… and redemption. Both Gabriel and Julia will be forced to deal with different aspects of their pasts.

They are also faced with finding a balance in their relationship. Julia is trying to carve out and existence next to her larger-than-life Gabriel while he has to look for ways to support and protect her without coddling her.

But the biggest obstacles may lie ahead dealing with the future and their own mortality. Ultimately Gabriel’s Redemption is a journey of forgiveness and the healing power that lies within, both human and divine!

Professor Gabriel O. Emerson, a larger-than-life hero, on my top -10 shelf. Nine words to describe Gabriel: Pretentious, mercurial, jaded, brilliant, reflective, progressive, enigmatic, commanding and unforgettable.

“Gabriel smiled slowly. “I will always need you, Julianne.”

 photo kk9bysb_zps8d070373.gif

Nine words to describe Julianne Mitchell, Julia: Shy, stubborn, smart, focused, ambitious, tenacious, fragile, loyal and patient.

“I’d never love you in spite of anything, Gabriel. I just love you.”

Book 1 captivated me, book 2 kept me on my toes and book 3 gave me the closure I needed, wrapping up Gabriel and Julia’s whirlwind romance beautifully – it’s all about peace and redemption! I am also happy to report that there will be happy endings for many second characters.

Brilliant, inspiring and interesting plot! Masterfully told! Unforgettable and swoon-worthy professor Gabriel Emerson! And… enough intrigue, suspense and romance to last throughout their saga! The coveted 6-star shelf!

“Then I’m glad I’m your first.” She tightened her grip on his hand.
“You’re my last, Gabriel. My only.”

"I love all of him-- the light and the dark, the good and the bad."

4 Stars!

That was such a beautiful, tear-jerking ending. Nothing is really sweeter than a HEA for your favorite book couple.

In Gabriel's Redemption, Gabriel and Julia are already a married couple. However, things are still not perfect because of some people who are trying to ruin their marriage and Gabriel's past who continues to haunt him.

What I loved about this third and final book was the main characters' development. I've seen how Julia grew from being shy and awkward to being such a brave and confident woman. I really admired the way she handled Christa every time the girl tries to provoke her. It's also nice to follow Gabriel's character development in this series. I loved how he conquered his fears and confronted his past.

The secondary characters such as Rachel, Aaron, Richard, Tom, and Paul also made this book unforgettable. I didn't like Paulina but in the end, I found myself sympathizing her. I thought what happened to her was just the right thing.

I loved how the series concluded as a whole, especially when it introduced a new character and an angel-- Clare. It was the ending that truly put a smile on my face. I will never forget this series! It was very well written and Julia and Gabriel's journey was so heart-warming my heart has been slayed so many ways. If you want to read an emotionally-driven romance book, then I highly recommend this trilogy.

Gabriel's Redemption is a beautiful conclusion to a truly insightful and memorable, one-of-a-kind love story. In continuing with its "redemption-based" theme, this final installation follows our characters through their darkest moments, as we see a lot of what was implied in the first two books generously play out.

In an attempt at remaining discreet with plot details, I'll simply mention that this installment deals with the trials Julia and Gabriel face as a newly married couple, while both old and new emotional setbacks arise. But what remains a constant through it all is their unconditional and inspiring love for one another: a solid, compelling bond that's rare to come by, even in fiction.

There were a lot of dramatics within the secondary characters' stories, and most of it added intrigue and mystery while some of it felt slightly excessive. I also found that certain ends were left untied, but I'm assuming this was an intentional segue into SR's new paranormal series, The Raven (Cannot wait!)

In all honesty, I didn't love this book quite as much as the first two, but that fact didn't seem to matter. Sylvain Reynard's writing is so beautifully captivating that he could write a book about argyle socks being attacked by fountain pens (wink, wink) and I'd be first in line to read it. That said, I did very much enjoy this conclusion and felt it was a wonderful surprise for fans of this series who weren't expecting a third book. Julia and Gabriel have become one of my most favored fictional couples, and I adored experiencing their final redemption!

Oh my Gabriel’s Redemption!! Where I do I begin?! I am happy that I was able to get an ARC of such a highly anticipated book but sad because now the series is over! No more Professor Emerson! I was very eerie of reading Gabriel’s Redemption; third books in a series are usually never as amazing as the first two, leaving the reader disappointed.

Gabriel’s Redemption starts off about six months after Gabriel and Julianne’s wedding. They are newlyweds living near Harvard in Massachusetts as Julia is in school, following her dreams studying at Harvard to be a Dante Specialist while Gabriel is working at Boston University nearby. They are still having unbelievably hot sex and are madly in love. Can we just all agree no other characters in the history of books have ever been in more love than Gabriel and Julianne? Their love affair is what made this series perfection.

My Professor Emerson:

We saw the change in Gabriel while reading book two, Gabriel’s Rapture. He is no longer the man full of hate. He has completely made a 180, and is not only in love but married and wants to be a father someday (soon). I love how much Gabriel has changed in the course of the three books yet he is still the same “Professor Emerson” we love from the very beginning.

Julia has created a name for herself in the academia world and even as a student has been asked to speak at a conference in England. While in England Christa and Paul (I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Paul) make a reappearance in their lives. This is the part of the book I LOVED, lots of drama and feelings and was a total 5 star read for me at this point.

Gabriel and Julia do not struggle so much at being together like they did before but this time around it’s more about their future and what will come. Gabriel wants children while Julia wants to wait 4-5 years to finish her degree. Gabriel never puts pressure on her but Julia feels the pressure and is torn. Gabriel also comes to finally deal with his past and his biological father. He needs to figure out the past to be able to move on in the future and be the father he wants to be someday.

I love the writing style and the adult tone of the book. What was really different about Gabriel’s Redemption was we are able to get into the mind set of different characters other than Julia and Gabriel. We read about Paul living in Vermont, Christa (and all her drama filled life), Rachel & Aaron, and even a little of Paulina and Simon. It was not only interesting to read about these characters but also gave them closure to know of what became of them and what they have been doing since the second book.

Gabriel’s Redemption I feel is one of the best final books in a series ever. It was a perfect mix of what we love about the first two books added with new elements to make it feel new and fresh. Gabriel is still one of the sexiest male characters EVER. He and Julianne have the hottest sex ever but have the best romance ever. I am just in love with them together as a couple.

I am so sad to see this series end but feel honored to have fallen in love with the Professor and Julianne too. Their story is sweet and emotional and Gabriel’s Redemption was the perfect end.

I give Gabriel’s Redemption (Gabriel’s Inferno #3) 4 Stars.

You're Welcome ;)

Dupa ce am vizitat Infernul in "Infernul lui Gabriel" si Purgatoriul in "Extazul lui Gabriel" , sper acum sa ajungem sa vizitam Paradisul!
O adaptare modernă a Divinei Comedii a lui Dante, asa am perceput eu aceasta serie!
In urma acestui sfat , Gabriel reflecteaza , si spre mirarea mea isi recunoaște greșeala , cere iertare si ii spune Juliei ca a avut dreptate.

" Ranile noastre se pot vindeca, dar urmele nu dispar niciodata. Nu poti sterge cu desavarsire trecutul, dar poti sa nu te lași controlat de el."
Sfatul primit de la Julianne , cand il alina dupa o altercație cu ... Christa .

Daca doriți sa cititi o carte frumoasa, care va ramane in minte de-a lungul anilor, v-o recomand!

★★★★★ 5 'You're my home' STARS.

Gabriel's Redemption was the perfect conclusion to Gabriel and Julianne's whirlwind romance story. For over a year, I'd been waiting for this third and final part of the highly praised Gabriel's Inferno-series and I can honestly say it did not disappoint! Once again, the Professor managed to make me swoon with his many carefully chosen words and poems. He's the perfect example of a gentleman and a hot alpha male all in one!!

"Have you ever made love in an orchard before?"
Her eyes widened and she shook her head.
"Then I'm glad I'm your first."
She tightened her grip on his hand. "You're my last, Gabriel. My only."

"People and circumstances will conspire to alienate us from one another, Julianne. We can't let them do that."

Gabriel and Julianne first met when she was seventeen years old and he was twenty-Seven. Since then, they've both come a very long way. Six years after their first meeting, Julia became Gabriel's grad student and thus began their passionate affair. Now, two years later, the two of them are newlyweds. Julia is working on her doctorate program in Harvard and Gabriel is still working as a professor.

But being newlyweds married with a full and exhausting work schedule isn't always rainbows and sunshine. On top of Julia's strict workload, Gabriel would also like to start thinking about starting a family, even though Julia would prefer finishing her studies first. And as if these discussions aren't enough already, there are also numerous other factors/enemies of their past who are set on preventing them from being happy. Still, the newlyweds are determined to fight for what they have without letting anyone come between them.

"Don't cry, my sweet girl. You're my Beatrice and my sticky little leaf and my beautiful wife."

In this final part of the series, all loose ends are tied. Every player, both Julianne's friend Paul, as well as her greatest enemies Christa, Simon and Natalie, and even Paulina, get the ending they deserve. The main focus of the story is about healing, hope and letting go of a painful past and memories in order to built a happy future. Without Julianne, Gabriel might have never become the man he is today, but with the help of his brown eyed angel, he's managed to overcome some of his darkest demons. She teaches him about forgiveness and love and in return he makes her feel beautiful and cherished.

"I hurt you, again and again. Yet you're so giving. Why?"
"Because I love you. Because I have compassion for you. Because I forgive you."

Overall, this series is still one of my all time favorite romance series. The journey Gabriel and Julianne go through is a beautiful one with lots of ups and downs. This final part of the series was less eventful and with much less heartbreak and anguish, but still there was never a dull moment throughout the story. The author has created a story and two main characters that will definitely stay with me for a very long time and I'm already looking forward to reading much more of his work in the future!

My book boyfriend crush is back, but for the last time..
I am a huge fan of this series and loved every second of this book, just devoured it top-bottom. I was so sad when it ended, but happy for how things were put into place, perfectly for my liking.
After fighting so hard to be together, facing all kinds of obstacles, we finally get to explore this couple in its marriage state, seeing how they cope with it.

The book begins 6 months from their wedding, where we see them adjusting to a normal life, with daily activities. Julia is studying at Harvard and Gabriel is working at Boston University. Julia's main concern is finishing her studies, a dream for which she fought hard in the past, jeopardized by her relationship with Gabriel. The main problem in this third book is balancing personal life with the professional one, a difficulty that our couple had. Julia is so focused on her studies, she is not thinking of having a baby.. but Gabriel has other plans in stored for her and will not give up until his family is perfect.

I saw an evolution in Gabriel that made me admire him more. Initially he was tormented, thought that he didn't deserve to be happy, that he couldn't have children, because he was not worthy of love. After meeting Julia, things changed for him. Julia thought him how to love and to be confident that he deserved a second chance. The title is very descriptive: "redemption" being the key word in all of the book. Gabriel left his pass behind and wanted a new life with Julia, full of hope and love. Now he is determined to show her how amazing their future can be, the 2 of them and their child.

The problem here is Julia, because she doesn't feel that the moment is right, especially when she need to finish the studies and begin the career she so fought for.
The roles are now in reverse, Gabriel being the one to show Julia the perfection is awaits them by fulfilling his wish.

I will let you explore this book by yourself, but you will certainly be amazed by the change in Gabriel and how determined he was. I always knew he was amazing, and how good he can be as a husband and father. He had to discover it by himself, in order to be in this place right now.
I enjoyed very much the accent that was put on his background, he being in search for his family and finding the well needed closure. We get to see a new Gabriel, and it melt my heart.

Julie disappointed me a little, because I consider her kind of selfish, but on the other hand I managed to put myself in her shoes and imagine how I would react. The answer was not so easy to find, but I was Team Gabriel throughout the majority of the book. Their fights and small exchanges made my delight, because I enjoy seeing how alike they are in personality, but different in opinions.
The thing that remained constant was their love and their intense and romantic love scenes. That chemistry and connection is their trademark, and to be sincere, I felt it even more intense in this book, like a culmination of everything they went through and now they were free to express all of this openly.

I love this series for the character it provided, for its amazing story and written style. I said it and I will repeat myself, Sylvain Reynard is amazing and his talent never ceased to amaze me.
I am very glad our beloved couple got the ending well deserved and managed to find love and happiness, although the road was packed with obstacles.

4.5 You're My Home Stars!

"I could spend the rest of my life inside you and die happy. You’re my home."

Gabriel's Redemption is the beautiful conclusion to the epic love story of Julia and Gabriel Emerson. The story continues with its redemption based theme in this final installment. While this was by far my least favorite book in the series I still really enjoyed it and I am heartbroken to see it end! I felt that there were some things that could have been executed better which prevented me from giving this book 5 stars. This series has always held a special place in my heart and it probably will for a long time to come.

"For you, my love, I would endeavor to pluck the stars from the sky, only to shower them at your feet."

Redemption picks up with Gabriel and Julia married, together and blissfully happy. Julia is hard at work to attain her degree, and Gabriel is teaching. There's still some hardships and secrets, but for the most part married life is going really well for them!

"I won’t find happiness without you.”
“For how can a man live without his heart?"

The love that is shared between Julia and Gabriel is really awe-inspiring to read about. I'm not married and I'll admit after reading a love like Gabriel and Julia's I don't know how anyone will ever add up to The Professor's love for Julia. Their love is so sweet, fierce, protective, passionate, tender, sexy and consuming all at the same time! I just soaked it all up!

"If you were Francis to my Guido da Montefeltro, you’d come for my soul, wouldn’t you?"

Before anyone thinks that Gabriel and Julia's love is too perfect, let me stop you right there! One of the things that I loved so much about this book was how realistic everything was. Their relationship isn't perfect. While they love each other fiercely, both of them still make mistakes and they do fight at times, but they always make up and learn from the mistakes they make. Before they can get their HEA after though obstacles and questions arise from Gabriel's past that he has to be able to overcome if he wants to move forward with his life with Julia. Will they get their HEA? Or is there love destined to be tragic like Beatrice and Dante's...?

“You think of everything.”
“I simply think of you. You are everything.”

In conclusion, Gabriel's Redemption was a very good conclusion to a series that I would recommend to everyone! The writing style of Sylvain Reynard is so poetic and beautiful that I can't imagine anyone finding fault in it. And last but not least lets not forget about Professor Gabriel Emerson. Let's all be honest ladies, he made this series! Without him our hearts wouldn't have swooned and I wouldn't have gone on a David Gandy hunt looking for all my perfect Gabriel pictures! Gabriel's character was so perfectly written and executed. His love and devotion to Julia make him one of the best book boyfriends of all time and I teared up just reading abut the love he had for her. If you haven't read this series yet, GO PICK THEM UP RIGHT NOW!

Of all the gifts God gave me, he thought, the greatest one is you.

I've one thing to say- Sylvain Reynard didn't plan to write this book. He wrote Gabriel's Rapture in the hopes that The Professor and Julia's story would be complete. It's the readers that pushed for this book. They wanted more from this couple...a look into their future a few years down the road. To give us a sense of closure. SR gave us this in spades! Not only did we get the COMPLETE HEA for Gabriel and Julianne, but closure to each and every nuance to their story. Of Rachel and Aaron, her father Tom and his new happenings, of Paul, of Natalie and Simon. Every detail of closure handed over to his readers in all his poetic perfection.

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

Were parts of the book a bit long or anticlimactic for me? Yes. Were there parts I felt a bit too religious or spiritual for those who don't believe? Maybe. I can't complain there as I think it added a true sense of person, of beliefs and hopes that there's powers beyond our control...something to pray for and thank blessings for. Aside from that, the only other thing I found myself wishing for was more steamy love scenes. It always bothered me this series was tagged erotica because I don't see it at all....or that it was recommended for lovers of all things FSoG. I find this book totally different. Much more beautifully romantic and less smutty. That being said, a little more steam would've been the icing on my Gabriel cake! I mean, they had orchard sex, museum sex, kitchen counter sex, chocolate body painting sex....*wipes brow*..and desk sex!!!! More deets SR!

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

Sylvain Reynard is truly one of my favorite authors. This series being my favorite love story of all time. To take such torturous pasts and circumstances and give us their story come full circle, my opinion stays strong...Gabriel and Julianne are my favorite. The author truly knows his Dante and there were parts I found myself skimming when she was doing her speech, or some of the poetry. It's a bit over this blonde's head I guess. But the beauty of his writing remains. Rumor has it, he's venturing into more PNR writing. A shame but I wish all the success in the future to a writer that has touched me like few can.

4.5~5 Man of Steel stars

What can I say but I LOVED this series and I fell in love Gabriel Emerson all over again. To say I’m sad to see this series conclude is an understatement, I just didn't want to say goodbye to Professor Gabriel Emerson and Julianne just yet. Gabriel’s Redemption was a beautiful conclusion to a heartfelt journey of two individuals who had overcome their past, demons, and addictions and found redemption in forgiveness, love, faith and hope in each other. The road to redemption is never easy, but it is attainable.

“I’ve loved him since I was seventeen. I love all of him – the light and the dark, the good and the bad. That’s why he’s with me. He left the others behind and he will never go back.” ~Julianne

“Charity is a great virtue, and so is faith. But hope means the most to me. This is hope.”

Gabriel’s Redemption picks up six months later after the Emerson’s wedding. Julianne is finishing up her first year of her PhD program at Harvard and Gabriel is now a professor at Boston University. They are living the newlywed life, romance and lots of unbelievably hot great sex. (I mean lots of passionate sex!) Not is all peaches and cream for the Emersons, Julianne is trying to balancing her academic career and her duties as a wife. As for Gabriel, his past demons and addiction still haunts him.

As they settled into their married life, Gabriel feels its time to expand their family and are ready for kids. Julianne, on the other hand, wants kids but not at the moment. She wants to finish her PhD program before they expand their family. Gabriel does not pressure Julianne but she is left feeling torn.

After a series of events, Gabriel’s starts to wonder if he is even worthy of that second chance to be a father again. His past and demons that he tried to put behind him slowly creeps and plagues his mind and torments his soul. He has a lot of demons to fight so he finally decides that he needs to put them to a rest so he can give his all to his new life and marriage. With this, Gabriel starts to make amends with the people that he has hurt and with himself and begins his search on his biological parents’ history. As much as Julianne wants to help Gabriel, he feels that there are times he must do it alone.

As for Julianne, she is no longer the shy innocent girl we saw in Gabriel’s Inferno. She has blossomed into a beautiful independent woman. She has made a name for herself in the academia world. In this book, we see a stronger Julianne, who will fight for her dreams, family and her love for Gabriel. Her heart can be only described as pure. She didn’t care what anyone thought of her husband because in her heart and mind, Gabriel is indeed worthy of love and redemption. The connection that they hold is so deep, intense and strong that nothing can tear them apart even with old enemies still lurking around.

There is no question that these two are perfectly suited for each other. She is the ying to his yang. They are two peas in a pod. She is his Beatrice and he is her Dante. The love that have for each other radiates from the pages. It is as if the stars have aligned, and they are fated one another and nothing can tear them apart. I absolutely love that no matter what arguments, misunderstanding, and whatever problems that stands in their way, they stand side by side and show a united front. They support each other, defend each other and love each other unconditionally.

"For you, my love, I would endeavor to pluck the stars from the sky, only to shower them at your feet."

Gabriel’s Redemption was simply beautifully well written and left me crying happy tears. This book is about making amends with the past, accepting what can’t be changed, moving forward, and of course, LOVE. Love can heal old wounds and scars. It doesn't always come easy. Love is overcoming obstacles, facing challenges, fighting to be together, holding on & never letting go. It is a short word, easy to spell, difficult to define, and impossible to live without. In Gabriel’s Redemption, the LOVE between Gabriel and Julianne was the kind of love that can move mountains. Gabriel clearly worships the ground Julianne walks on. She is his life and vice versa. After what Gabriel and Julianne had experienced, their love story had come to a full circle. At the end of the last page, I was at peace knowing that their love triumphed and overcame all the odds that were thrown at them. Their love was so passionate, tender, fierce, unconditional, and all-consuming. They never, ever stopped fighting for each other and they were truly destined and made for each other. The love between Gabriel and Julianne is the kind of true love that everyone wants and hopefully can experience in their life.

"You think of everything." "I simply think of you. you are my everything."

“Now my Blessedness appears.”
~Gabriel Emerson

Thank you, Mr. Reynard for introducing us to the Professor and Julianne and allowing us to accompany them on their beautiful journey of forgiveness, strength, hope, courage, perseverance, redemption, and love. All I can ask of Mr. Reynard is for a novella...I need more Gabriel and Julianne. I just don’t want to say goodbye to them just yet. It was an emotional sweet journey that it’s bittersweet to see Gabriel’s and and Julianne story come to an end.

So I highly recommend everyone to read this book and series. You will not be disappointed with the Professor.

Sylvain Reynard’s GABRIEL'S REDEMPTION is the highly anticipated final book in the Gabriel’s Inferno series. The series was originally conceived as two books, but Reynard changed his mind after readers pleaded for a third. If you haven’t read the series, I do recommend you read the first two books before proceeding to REDEMPTION because Reynard does revisit past characters and gives you character backgrounds that will leave you lost otherwise.

Before I proceed to the review, I want to say, that it pains me to give this book the rating I do, because I adored GABRIEL'S INFERNO and really enjoyed GABRIEL'S RAPTURE. Alas, I’m in the minority that didn’t enjoy GABRIEL'S REDEMPTION.

What I did like was the softening of Gabriel in a particular scene involving an orphanage and being called Superman by the children. I really liked seeing Gabriel out of his element and finally putting the past regarding Maia away. I just adored seeing Julia presenting at Oxford. I cheered for her as she delivered her first paper and high-fived her when she was able to handle her own regarding Christa and her questions. I do believe we needed this scene in order for Gabriel to realize how amazing Julia is in the academic world when given a little space.

Ultimately, what didn’t work for me was how clichéd GABRIEL'S REDEMPTION was. Julia doesn’t want a baby and wants to focus on school, but Gabriel wants one. I’ll leave out what happens so you’re not spoiled, but I’m so disappointed because I understand Julia’s worry. It’s one I’ve had for her since she married Gabriel because I know women in academia having children and how it postpones a lot for them. Several good friends got pregnant during their final coursework for the PhD and several years later still aren’t done. So my worry for Julia is perfectly justified and I know she’ll have a good career regardless of the outcome, but I wanted so much more for her. I wanted Gabriel to want more for her too and in the end, I was disappointed. The first two books in the series left me emotionally drained and I cared about the fate of each character, but midway through GABRIEL'S REDEMPTION, I couldn’t summon the energy to care. Also, Reynard attempts to give closure to every character. So if you’ve been wondering what happens to Simon or Natalie, you’ll get closure, but the way Reynard works them into the narrative, it’s not related to Julia and Gabriel’s story. While it’s nice that he goes back to tie up lose ends, I feel at times that like real life some answers aren’t known and that’s the beauty of life. Furthermore, there are still some unanswered questions regarding a few characters. I have a feeling Reynard will be revisiting Paul in his next novel.

In the end, I just feel GABRIEL'S REDEMPTION was lackluster. It read like a long epilogue that just wouldn’t end. Julia and Gabriel fight, she locks herself in the bathroom, make up sex ensues, and repeat this scene a few more times. I know newlyweds have sex, but Reynard has these two fornicating left and right that I’m surprised Julia can even walk the next day much less get out bed. At one point, Gabriel is impatient because Julia announces she’s menstruating and while he understands, he’s busy counting down the days to sexy time. I’m surprised he doesn’t have her menstruation cycle memorized. I know readers asked for a third novel, but in this case, I do feel that an epilogue or a novella would have been more than fine.

Die hard Gabrielites will no doubt love GABRIEL'S REDEMPTION. If you’re unsure about picking this up, I recommend reading a sample first and maybe a few reviews in order to determine your interest or borrow a copy from a friend.

5 Redeeming Stars!!

I’ll be very short on this one because there’s nothing more I can say except that I really loved this book.

In this book we have a happily married Gabriel and Julia but their happy ever after is far from coming, since they still have a lot of unresolved issues.
Starting with their past and through all the doubts about their future, the lovers still have a bumpy road ahead of them.

This was probably the best one for me.
The writing style was flawless, as always and all the issues I had in the second installment disappeared in this one. (Thankfully.)
It was a great reading and a pretty much perfect ending for an amazing series. (I would only ask for an epilogue far in the future, but we can’t have everything, right?)

I really, really want to cry because it just ended. It's just so BEAUTIFUL.

 photo Beautiful.jpg

If I could just stretch the story forever, I would be so happy.

“Every night when I fall asleep with her in my arms, I thank God she’s mine. Every morning when I wake up, my first thought is that I’m grateful she married me. I will never be worthy of her. But I spend every day trying my damnedest."

The story continues after the marriage of Gabriel and Julienne. In this story, Gabriel wants to have kids. But Julianne feels as if she's not yet ready to have a family, she thinks she's selfish for her actions. Old enemies resurface and insecurities arises. The pressure is on.

“Of all the gifts God gave me, he thought, the greatest one is you.”

Beautiful, alluring and oh-so-freaking genius. I think SR did a great job of writing this book. I love how the writer actually quotes about history, anecdotes, poems, quotable quotes and some I-have-never-heard-of this-before-now-I-know stories. Man, I love how Il Professore just spout out his love for Julianne. For example:

“For you, my love, I would endeavor to pluck the stars from the sky, only to shower them at your feet.”

See what I mean? I think he just melted the North AND South pole.

Oh Gabriel...

And also melted the coldest of cold hearts.

I love you.

PLUS! Julianne's fiyaaaaaaaah!

“You’re right about one thing, though.”
“And what’s that?” Christa sounded contemptuous.
Julia smiled knowingly. “My husband is an exceptional lover. He’s attentive, creative, and absolutely mind-blowing. And tonight and every night, the woman enjoying his adventurous nature will be me.”
She gave Christa a long look.
“Not bad for a mouse.”

All in all, I would say this is one awesome, heartbreaking book. The book grips you until the very end. I think I had a solid five hours sleep just wanting to finish this. My Mom got mad 'cause I wasn't sleeping yet and I had to wake up early the next morning. But you know what?

There were some characters I wanted them to have a nice ending but really focused on Gabriel and Julianne more. I think it would be nice if Simon had his own happy ending Sylvain Reynard…? Just a thought but it's up to you. :)

Thank you for this wonderful trilogy! Hope to read the next book of yours.

Gabriel and Julia are both in Boston and doing well in their pursuits. Their marriage is going well but as always, Gabriel wants more and we all know that he usually gets his way!

Well, I'm happy to say that nothing too crazy happens in this book. Now that doesn't mean there isn't drama because of course there is.

Some issue comes up that causes Gabriel to want to search his past and find out things. And unfortunately it causes him to revert to some bad past behaviors. I was happy that he only did what he did!

Julia is a wonderful wife...just like we knew she would be, definitely a bit old fashioned. I was a little surprised at her complete forgetfulness but you just knew that was coming.

And for the most part, this book read like a really long epilogue. We find out what happens with Paul, Christa and Simon and the rest of Gabriel and Julia's families.

The ending was sweet...my heart went out to poor Gabriel but I'm glad things worked out.

(BR with Melissa)

Well, it seemed that we waited a long time for the release of "Gabriel's Redemption".
I really enjoyed this final installment.
Was it as good as the first two books, in my opinion? No.
It was good but I just feel like something was missing.

Maybe a little too much Dante talk?
I loved Gabriel.
Without a doubt, he's still my #2 book boyfriend.
The man has a sexual appetite that won't quit and is the master at the art of seduction.
I wished the sexy time scenes had more heat to them.

Julia, she's still very much annoying.
The woman needs to stand up for herself!!
I loved that Katherine Picton was back in this one and she basically told Julia she needs to start defending herself.
I believe she meant against people like Christa Peterson, but no, the person she stands up to is Gabriel.
I felt he was trying hard to battle his inner demons and he wanted so desperately to start a family with Julia, but she spent most of the time having anxiety over having children and finishing her studies at Harvard.

The story still has the couple very much in love and boy they spend most of their time sexing it up.
I think maybe because there wasn't the angst we had in the first two books, that the book seemed to drag.
We do get to find out about things that were never revealed in the previous books, like what Gabriel wrote in that card he sent with flowers to Julia, after he found out she was his Beatrice.
We learn why Simon and Natalie stayed away from Julia.
Most importantly, some of the characters get what they deserve and a few get closure, like Paulina.
I loved that this was in the book.
Yes, she was a bitch, but Gabriel treated her so horribly.
That had to be a part of his redemption.

Even though Grace passed on, she still was very present in this book.
She was like their guardian angel.
I loved Richard.
He always had the best advice and there was a very touching scene with him that people might find corny, but I loved it.

So I gave this a 4 because I love my Gabriel and he made me swoon several times.
Plus I love how he actually did change a lot and he saw the error of his ways in the past and he made a conscious effort to change and make amends.
Plus he LOVES giving Oral to Julia!!! LOL
You will know what I'm talking about when you get towards the end of the story.

That bit at the end, I feel Gabriel almost had a lackluster response to the situation, which was odd. That part could have been a real tear jerker.
I'm sad to have to say goodbye to Gabriel.
He was the first to knock Christian Grey off the #1 spot as my book boyfriend.
He's the #1 hottest bow tie wearing Professor!!!
I realized after reading Gabriel's Inferno & Gabriel's Rapture, that there were indeed great books out there like the FSOG series.
So I will always be thankful to Sylvain Reynard for that. :)

"Don't cry, my sweet girl. You're my Beatrice and my sticky little leaf and my beautiful wife. I'm sorry I've been such a bastard. I wanted to show you how important you are to me. You are my most precious masterpiece." - Gabriel

"This is the culmination of all my hopes, Gabriel." Julia reached out to him and he strained to catch her pinky finger with his own. "This is my happy ending." - Julia

The conclusion of Julia & Gabriel’s story was just as magical as the first two in this series. A romance destined between two lost souls that find their home within each other’s arms.

Gabriel & Julia are making a home amidst the struggle of her studies to gain her PhD. Newly married, these two have given one another the strength to heal most of the scars of their past. But when Gabriel shares his desire to start a family with Julia, a few fears not yet forgotten surface.

Wanting a family brings new and old fears to light for both Julia & Gabriel. Julia’s focus is her studies. Her desire to finish her program first and fearing disappointing Gabriel if she puts her dreams before his happiness. Gabriel has had no desire to seek out his own bloodline, but the thought of a child of his own forces him to walk down a path that awakens sleeping demons. For both Julia & Gabriel, the fear of losing what you love is at the heart of this story. The fear of putting your faith into something you can’t control and risking having it torn from your grasp.

“Of all the gifts God gave me, he thought, the greatest one is you.”

Gabriel has become a changed man since Julia. She saved his life all those years ago in an orchard when he thought she was a vision and then years later when he realized his Beatrice was real. But his redemption cannot simply be found in his actions, it must be found through forgiveness.

But this is not just the story of these two. We get a look into the lives of all the players that have been with us on this journey. Some loved and some not so much. But nothing is left unresolved.

I cannot even begin to explain how much I loved this series. I absolutely adore classic literature and romance, this is the perfect mix of both in how it is written and the theme of Dante & Beatrice.

“Have you ever made love in an orchard before? Her eyes widened and she shook her head. “Then I’m glad I’m your first.” She tightened her grip on his hand. “You’re my last, Gabriel. My only.”

I was so glad to see that everything was resolved and the way that the author placed in the stories from the other characters, adding in a bit of suspense as to what was to come was utterly brilliant.

“You think of everything.”
“I simply think of you. You are everything.”

The only thing that bothered me was the one error I spotted. This book is written so perfectly with so many details that require hours upon hours of research that this one tiny thing kept gnawing at me. It was the mistaken use of the word nephew when the relationship would have been that of a brother. Not a major deal considering that the age gap sometimes makes that correlation feel a bit odd, but since this book required such an eye for detail the fact that this was not caught just bothered me.

Gabriel’s journey was beautifully told and being able to see the transformation of what we saw at the start of this series to what we saw at the end was simply beautiful. The last moments of this book had my heart breaking. The amount of love that he carried within his heart for Julia is something that just takes your breath away.

“I love this man with all my heart. I’d give my life for him. Id’ give anything for him.”

**5 " I can't believe it's over" kind of stars **

"For you, my love, I would endeavor to pluck the stars from the sky, only to shower them at your feet."

By far, this book was one of the most anticipated books of this year I was eagerly expecting it's release.
The conclusion of the series that introduces us to the beautiful and mesmerizing love story of...

Our passionate couple is over the moon. They just married and they never been happier.
Still, they're are shadows trying to lurk their happiness.
Christa is set on spreading rumors about them. In her mind she always gets what she wants, and she set her price on him.
Also his past it's still haunting him and he must seek answers to gain some peace with his Beatrice.
Obstacles keeps appearing and they're more united than ever to overcome them all.

The evolution of both characters is just amazing!! Julia is more mature and gradually becoming more sure of herself. And Gabriel, that could be so selfish, now is completely selfless regarding Julia. It shows even in his relationship with his family and friends.

I just love this couple so much. Their love is just a beauty to behold! Their devotion to each other, passion and fated to be together.

The way they see each other and connect at such a higher level, is just B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L. Seriously is the word that keeps popping in my mind in each of the 3 books of the series.
It's one of the few romances, that their work is pivotal to the story. They're Dante specialist and we see how much they love it and how it brought them together. And the parallels between their story and their studies is just amazing. The details of the paintings, history and music, elevates even more this already unique story.

Now all adding the exquisite writing of Reynard, it just makes reading this trilogy an unforgettable and one of a kind reading experience.

And that ending? PERFECTION!

I can't recommend this series enough :)

This final installment of Gabriel's Inferno series takes us through the Emerson's beginnings of marriage.
"Marriage is a mystery. The two people somehow become knitted together until they're one. When we're separated, I feel as if part of me is missing.' -Gabriel

I was surprised to find a mistake:

I really enjoy the writing. And because of that I'm going to give this book 5 stars for the whole overall experience of this series.

Gabriel's Inferno (Gabriel's Inferno, #1) by Sylvain Reynard Gabriel's Rapture (Gabriel's Inferno, #2) by Sylvain Reynard Gabriel's Redemption (Gabriel's Inferno, #3) by Sylvain Reynard

Gabriel’s Redemption by Sylvain Reynard has been my most anticipated read of 2013. I’ve been wanting to have it my hot little hands since I found out that SR was going to write it, so when that moment finally arrived I was ecstatic. I’m just like any other reader when I begin a book…full of anticipation and excitement, and when it’s a favorite author’s book I’m also expectant. I set the bar higher for an author who is continuing a series, and to WoW! me isn’t an automatic, or an easy gimme.

The Gabriel's Inferno series is my unicorn - I LOVED the first book, then I endured a seemingly endless spiral of mediocrity, religious allegory, & angst as I saw it through to the conclusion...

Julia’s heart nearly cracked under the weight of her realization that her love had not healed him.
Really quickly:
If you liked the second book in this series, I think you'll really enjoy this book...
But, if you're like me & the second book left a bad taste in your mouth... Stay away from this.

I feel like this book took so long to come out, and had so much lead up to it's publication, that there was no way it could possibly live up to reader's expectations... There was so much information which needed to be cleared up...

So many characters needed conclusions,
So much angst had to be resolved,
The mysterious past of Gabriel had to be revealed,
...and once all of that was done, the author had to convince us that Julia and Gabriel could have a happily ever after.

“Don’t cry, my sweet girl. You’re my Beatrice and my sticky little leaf and my beautiful wife. I’m sorry I’ve been such a bastard. I wanted to show you how important you are to me. You are my most precious masterpiece.”
That's a tall order.

I'm pleased to say that everything was resolved in the final installment of the Gabriel's Inferno Series...

But was it satisfactory?
Not for me, personally...
I don't need everything neat and tidy to the point of sterility, but that is the ending provided to us.

If I could go back and do it all over again, I would have been perfectly happy to read the first book and be done with the series.

That being said, the writing is still spectacular and Gabriel Emerson is still a swoony sonofabitch... So it wasn't all bad.

Oh god it’s killing me. Have you ever waited so long to get your hands on a book? I did! For this one and when the GOD’s opened up and yes, I got a PAPERBACK ARC, I think I had a heart attack. I loved book 1, Gabriel’s Inferno and yes book 2 was a bit disappointing, but I figure that was just the filler book.

SAD TO SAY… I HAD HUGE expectations for Gabriel’s Redemption

I am going to describe this book in two words. READY?!

Usually I crave long books and I can’t get enough it, but there was no story line. I felt like I was this patient in the waiting room just waiting for my turn, you know something to happen. Come on Gabriel, go crazy, do something that makes me want to hate you and love you at the same time.

I figure the beginning was just a lot of intro stuff. So I bore through it, but the thing is, the book is so long that 10% is like 30% of a normal book I read. UGGGGGGGGGGGGG

I got through to the 50% mark. There was hardly any steam, I mean, there’s plenty of sex, but not really. I don’t need a detailed description, but what’s the point in having all that sex if there isn’t going to be any explanation? I dunno, hard to explain.

As to all the high reviews… this is all I can say

I just don’t get it

So, it’s going back on my shelf and who knows I may pick it up on a rainy day.
