As a teacher, I requested a copy of this book because the description reminded me of "quest" stories that several of my students are currently reading. After reading it myself, I do not hesitate to recommend it to them. While the length of the book and some confusing plot details could deter struggling readers, I did find that there was enough of a good hook to get through the more difficult parts where there was either too much or not enough going on with the storyline. I am not comparing books ...more

I won this book in the Goodreads Giveaways, and here is my review:
Winter Nova is the story of a single city against the empire. The empire has turned city after city from the Light (which is a kind of religion), and now only Greydale is left. This was a free book from Goodreads, the Author and Publisher to read and review.

Sorry, Preston.

Given the trust to honestly review this novel, after very high expectations, I am quite sorry to say I was not too impressed. It seemed to me that many of the ideas were already used prior to this particular attempt.

If I was the Editor, I surely would had asked for a re-write before even considering it being published.

Barry and Larry (the twin soldiers)? I almost stopped reading it right there and th

Winter Nova is a refreshing fantasy that’s nicely conceived, executed and keeps the reader involved. The characters are developed pleasingly and are especially story appropriate. Author Preston Morgan has done a superb job in filling the pages of this novel with an excellent tale that captures the reader’s attention. This is an adventure of good versus evil as revealed while the inhabitants of Greydale are fighting to save their home. If you are a fan of fantasies or are looking for a good read, ...more

***I received this book through goodreads giveaway. Thank you!!!***

This was a gripping story with very realistic characters entangled in an interesting world. The pace was very fast and kept me curious as to the outcome of the plot.
Looking forward to your next books!
