Before his mission began, he went home. 24 hours to say goodbye to his twin sister.

Instead he found her. A girl that was nothing like the one he thought he knew.

They have 24 hours. 24 hours before he deploys on an extremely dangerous mission. 24 hours together in a freak West Texas snowstorm. 24 hours that will have to get them both through the awful next year.

NOTE: The story description explains that the book takes place before the trilogy, but having read book #1 – Operation: Endgame, I strongly suggest you read that first before reading this “prequel” because events in Operation: Endgame could ruin the experience for you. However, the author recommends that this novella be read between books #2 and #3.

Julie has a little accident in her kitchen which sets her townhouse on fire. Luckily, her best friend Cassie

I was lucky enough to get to read this before it's released, and can I just say...it's the PERFECT little novella to keep you satisfied until Endurance releases in couple months! Chris and Julie...oh my. This book is pure foreplay, to get your warmed up and ready for the steamy couple's full story! It may be ".5" in the series, but it's probably best to read it right after Endeavor. You see a bit of them in Endeavor, and there is some awkwardness there. I couldn't wait to find out why, and in th ...more

Here's what you need to know- Ever since the begininng of this series (Operation:Endgame) I have been in love with Chris. I'm a sucker for the tortured hero, I collect them, cry over them, and secretly wish to be their heroine.

Each book in the When the Mission Ends series can stand on it's own- but it's really meant to be read in order and I recommend you do so you get to know all the characters the way the author intends. BTMB is a Novella- that takes place before the whole story starts, but sh

Chris Robertson decides to spend his last two days before deployment telling his beloved twin sister bye. Arriving at her house late and not wishing to wake her he wakes up with the totally unexpected. Chris is supposedly the “bad boy.” I just didn’t see it. He is swoon worthy and an incredibly sexy lover. This sexy little novella answers so many questions while building an insane amount of anticipation for the next book.

Having read Operation: Endeavor, book #2 in the When the Mission Ends seri

Before the Mission Begins is a prequel to Christi Snow’s Before the Mission Ends series. I am so glad she wrote this short story. In her second book, Operation: Endeavor, Christ hints that there was something between Chris and Julie. That something happened once upon a time. What I thought when I saw those hints? “OMG what happened?! I want to know! I want their book right NOW!!!” Imagine my glee when I learned that Chris and Julie’s story was actually go

Disclaimer: I know Christi as a fellow reader and book blogger in addition to being an author. That said, my review is completely my honest and unbiased opinion of this book.

After reading Operation: Endeavor , I wanted had to know the backstory involving Chris and Julie. There was obviously some history between these two and I’m glad I now know what that history is.

I really liked that Before the Mission Begins didn’t just jump into a sex scene. There was enough b

The When the Mission Ends Trilogy had me hooked from the Prologue in Operation: End Game. Christi Snow’s characters draw you in immediately and don’t let go until the final page. That was especially true for Before the Mission Begins because it was a novella. I was already emotionally invested in these characters but I had no idea how much these few scenes would pull me in farther. By the time the story was over, the characters that I thought I knew at the end of Operation: Endeavor were so much ...more

Recommend that you read Operation Endgame Book 1 and Operation Endeavor Book 2 of After the Mission Ends Trilogy.

Before the Mission Begins is a novella giving an insight of where it all started.

Chris has been given orders for a mission that has him going out of country for at least six months. He has 48 hours before he leaves and decides to head home to tell his twin sister Cassie in person, knowing how she worries. After arriving late in the evening he heads straight to bed planning on letting

As soon as I finished Operation: Endeavor, I knew there was a story we were missing. I thought it was just going to be played out in the Operation: Endurance, but Christi decided to gift us the ultimate romantic and sexy beginning to Chris and Julie. Since this is the third installment in the series, we are already invested in the Robertson family and Cassie’s girlfriends and don’t need introductions. You’ll feel right at home from the very beginning.

A series of circumstances bring Chris and Jul

Before the Mission Begins is a novella prequel to book 3 in the When The Mission Ends trilogy. It can also be read as a prequel to book 1 in the series, Operation Endgame. But it makes more sense if you read it after book 2, "Operation Endeavor". It gives you that ah ha moment that you pondered about in book 2.

When The Mission Ends Trilogy is a story about three siblings who are military brats and carry on the tradition. The two brothers make a career out of the air force and the sister makes a

Knowing what happens to Chris on the mission he's about to leave on makes this book so bittersweet. I loved seeing him SEE Julie for the first time but it flayed me to know that they were so close to having their moment before everything fell apart. POOR JULIE AND CHRIS!

That said, I admired Julie for taking the plunge and asking Chris for their time together. Yeah, she had some ulterior motives but she saw her chance and she took it. I also liked getting a peek into how Julie tried to fling off

Quickie Review for a Quick Read

What I thought of Before the Missing Begins: Look y'all I read a novella that I actually like! Can you believe it? I have always said I do much better with novellas when I know the characters and that is the case with this one. I think it was a nice glimpse into what all Chris lost being MIA. I had no idea (and won't give it away) but it makes me want to read his story even more. Th

Chris and Julie's story was so beautiful and yet so sad for me. (view spoiler) I need book 3 to see them getting their HEA.

In spite of the short length in 'Before the Mission Begins', it was a great introduction to Chris and Julie's love story.

Both are characters I've known becaus

We’ve met Julie and watched her suffer in book #2. She’s been constantly present in this family, because she’s Cassie best friend, but this novella is actually set before the events of book #1 and no one is aware they had a weekend together.

Chris is a total nice and this showed a more carefree side of him, that we just couldn’t see lately because of his trauma and recovery. I liked him and how good he treated Julie.

The sex was extra special because Julie was a little scarred from her past experi

If you are looking for something that is purely fun, but will also make you love the When The Mission Ends series even more, THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU!! Make sure you read the first 2 books in the series before this one. Trust me. The $.99 you spend on this is more than worth it!

This was a perfect short installment between Endeavor and Endurance. I already was fond of Chris after Cassie found him in Operation Endgame and really felt for him and what he was going through in Operation Endeavor. Ugh and poor Julie. Cannot wait to read what happens next with him and Julie. Both have been through so much!

Yawn. Nothing new or interesting in this one.

Nervous and sexually inexperienced young woman asks her friend's brother, a ladies' man, to introduce her to good sex. They spend 24 hours together before he is deployed overseas. They fall in love (YES, in 24 HOURS) and decide to spend the rest of their lives together. The end.

A couple of the usual suspects: shy woman, a good person, who is passionate but fearful because of near rape; ladies' man who is good and kind. Her only fillip beyond the gen

As an avid reader her entire life, Christi Snow always dreamed of writing books that brought to others the kind of joy she felt when she read. But...she never did anything about it besides jot down a few ideas and sparse scenes.

When her husband retired from the Air Force, Christi decided it was time to chase her dream and she started writing. She hasn’t stopped since. With twenty-two published boo
