Every six months a different Russian agent arrives at the Rockin’ Rooster saloon in Twin Falls, Idaho to fight local cowboy and laid-off spy Rulon Hurt. To the locals it’s great fun and even to Rulon and his Swiss wife Yohaba, it’s not a bad way to spend a Wednesday night. But when Rulon saves Boris, the latest Russian, from a gang of local skinheads, a feud ignites that q ...more

Wow lots of action and drama from Idaho to Switerland. With Americans,Germans,Russians and Swiss as main characters. This book follows Einstein's Trunk. I have not read it but events from it are mentioned a few times and now I want to read it too.
Rulon Hurt is a cowboy rancher in Idaho, his wife Yohaba is Swiss. Her grandfather was Einstein.
Rulon used to be a agent from the State department in Switzerland in the OCD. Now because of events in Einstein's Trunk every six months the Russians

Oh man, this was an excellent read and I can't believe I didn't rate and review it 8 months ago when I read it….undoubtedly because I was in the process of moving (twice) to new homes and a new town. One does not often read a second book by a new author that is as good as the first book, but that is certainly the case here.
In fact, this book was even better than Haberkorn's first book, which I also rated 5 stars. I'm hoping there will be a third novel! If you are looking for a fast-paced thrill

In Jim Haberkorn’s A Thousand Suns, we pick up a few years after the end of Einstein’s trunk (the first book in the series—which I recommend reading first, of course) where Rulon and Yohaba are settled happily on a ranch in Idaho. Everything is perfect until a fight between Rulon and some Nazis turns the small group against him. All of a sudden, everyone’s after Rulon: Nazis, KGB, and even a few freelancers. When Rulon is put into the hospital, Yohaba decides it’s time to end this and off she go ...more

I LOVED the suspense and the action and the love between a husband and a wife!

Incredibly well written it keeps you turning the pages to find out what is going to happen next and how they are going to resolve the conflicts that just keep coming their way.

The back cover gives you only a small part of the story...
It is true...every six months a Russian agent is sent to fight the local cowboy/ex-spy Rulon Hurt.
And Rulon does save the Russian (Boris) from a local gang of skinheads.

And the back cover

OK, I have conflicted feelings about this book. First, the title felt "borrowed." I don't know what that means exactly but it isn't a compliment. Second, be warned that this is, evidently, a sequel or second book in a series after Einstein's Trunk. I had not read Einstein's Trunk first so perhaps I missed some stuff? Maybe, like the whole CERN stuff and Einstein's calculations. Say what? Third, I really did not enjoy all the cultural references...movies, quotes, the names, etc. Fourth, I did a l ...more
