Amazing story! So in love with Travis and Corrine, and the author who opened their world up to us...

There was nothing I didn't like about Lucid.
Beautifully written. The prose was exceptional. The flow of the story was paced very well. A very smooth and smartly written story.
Lucid is the story of Travis. He is physically disfigured causing his peers to ignore and bully him because he is different. All things considered, Travis is actually rather well adjusted but still longs to belong, to be like ...more

Overall Score: 3.5 Stars
Travis Hunter never felt like he fit in anywhere. In fact, the only thing that he can remember since he was a little boy is being judged by his disfigured looks. So he did the only thing he knew what to do best - try to ignore everyone, hoping that everyone else will ignore him too. Everything changes when his therapist gives him a talisman which she claims was a part of The Lucid group that created their own world while dreaming. He never thought to discover that his dre ...more

Natalie Roers’ voice is amazingly confident for a first novelist. Her journalist's eye for human detail draws you in, and makes you care about the people who populate the LUCID world. The more I got to know them, both awake and asleep in the world of lucid dreaming, the more time I wanted to spend in their world.

This was a painful read. I knew at chapter three with the addition of a Dream Girl™ that it wasn't going to go well. This was a hodge podge book with a couple interesting ideas but no backbone.

4.5 stars.
Travis was born with a disfigurement. He has no friends, is bullied at school and spends most of his time alone in his 'apartment'. He longs for Corrine, who works in the bookstore, to notice him. Corrine is popular and beautiful. Travis can't believe she would ever be interested in someone like him.
When his therapist gives him a talisman and he finds he can control his dreams. Somehow, Corrine ends up in his dreams with him.

Some people said the book is too short. I think it's the perfect length.
It is a simple, endearing story about the power of imagination. The only sad part I felt was that for disfigured people, this fantasy usually never becomes reality. But the book is wise to give hope, using the plot device of lucid dreaming. That's fine! Books are there, to offer us an escape and a way to make things work that they wouldn't otherwise in the real world.

This is a coming of age story where you are literally tested as to how you view yourself and your morals. I loved this really cute story. It was beautifully written and it was fast paced.
Travis is the main character. He has some facial disfigurations since birth. His parents try to keep everything normal. He's bullied. He has a crush on the popular girl. Travis has a good personality and he grows so well in this story. He so loves Corrine. She works in the local coffee shop where Travis visits ...more

When I first began this book, I was immediantly sucked in. The first few chapters are incredible and give the book so much potential. Sadly, the rest of this story does not live up to that potiental in my opinion.
I love the story of Travis and Corrine and of her falling in love with him despite his looks and disfigurment. What I don't like, however, is how everything is rushed and takes a turn for the worse. The whole thing with Terry stealing the tailsman wasn't drawn out enough. I felt like th ...more

"Lucid" was an amazing book! Everything flowed well and the story completely drew me in. Without giving anything away, the author gave the book the most perfect ending possible!
