"Green Eyed Temptation", Halos & Horns, by Lori Leger is a modern romance with a lot of punch to it. It may be regarded as a love triangle. There's one girl, Angelique Baptiste,who is taking a break from bedding guys while she tries to sort her life out, and two men both tough and attractive. There is police colleague, Mike Harper, and ex-Seal, Liam Nash, the latter with a whole host of skeletons in his cupboard that he finally laid to rest. However, he ran out on Angelique a year ago and is one of the reasons she has had to get counseling from a therapist and take drastic measures to get her emotional life back on track. a gritty, heart-rending subplot makes this book much more than a simple romance. There is a special power in this story and it quickly becomes absorbing.

The book is a spin-off from the author's hugely successful "La Fleur de Love" series and uses characters who have appeared in previous stories. This is a strategy Lori Leger uses to great effect as it is intriguing to readers. It also lends a sense of familiarity as you read. there are plenty of interesting secondary characters in this enjoyable story, such as Tanner Collins, whom you hope you'll come across again, maybe very soon too. The author's style is conversational and easy, with a humorous touch. For example, she gives us two endings - a sweet one, and a decidedly hotter one too! She creates sensual situations as skillfully as she builds tension and intrigue and is a polished, accomplished author.

I gave this up at 37% because I've been reading it for 9 days and have hardly gotten anywhere. Don't get me wrong. I like it. It's just not grabbing my attention like most books do and I always pick it up to start it and read about two pages before I put it back down again to read something that does grab my attention and makes me want to read it.

The story was okay. I liked the tension between the two guys and Angel. I felt the additional Sarah storyline and the characters of Mel, Nan, and Tanner weren't really necessary. Truthfully, I just wanted the love triangle storyline.
