LET IT BE KNOWN, THIS OFFICIALLY TAKES PLACE IN ONTARIO.

I mean, that was pretty much a given. But anyway. It's an obsession of mine and until it explicitly says this is in Toronto, I will never give up.

Anyway, I actually really enjoyed this one? Even though it feels like the stakes are considerably higher in this than any other Robyn Hunter book. I mean, the perps are planning to literally murder our faves. And they totally could. And the cops are corrupt. And children have died. And people are rude and discriminatory and overall, makes me super uncomfortable. But Robyn, as always, has a plan up her sleeve and somehow (?) manages to figure things out. I will probably forever be in awe (note that "oblivious and observant at the same time" is a phrase that is in my Goodreads bio, and is very, very true). I'm still forever grateful that this series fell across my lap as a kid. I love it to pieces and I don't want it to end :(

Norah McClintock's "In Too Deep" tells the story of a girl named Robyn who obtains a great job for summer vacation. She may not be with her boyfriend, but she is located right across the lake from her best friends lakeside cabin and excited to have the summer of her life... until a boy, Alex Richmond, in town supposedly kills himself. Robyn takes it upon herself to take matters into her own hand and investigate the strange "suicide". Was it really a suicide? Was he killed because he knew too much about the towns greatest secrets? She needs to find the answers and she won't stop until she does. But will Robyn get herself in too deep?

This story is fast paced and a really easy read. I appreciate the storyline and the overall mystery of the book itself. However, the ending is seemingly perhaps a little too predictable and I felt that the writing was not at par with some of the other texts that I find myself divulged in. I think that Norah is great at writing lower level YA novels, but this is not a book at the level of which I like to read at. I wish that their was a greater use of suspense and thrill, as opposed to the somewhat cliché with which the novel is met with in the end. Overall, I think it is a good book if you are looking for a quick and easy read, that incorporates some cool ideas about mystery and the damage that intense curiosity can often inflict.

I thought this book was surprisingly good. I was not expecting that I would actually like it. I thought the characters were all well described and connected together. The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I definitely thought that the ending was a little iffy, parts of it was good but others I did not like at all.
This book has good representations of what it is to be a loyal friend and I really liked that.

4.5- the only reason why it didn't get 5/5 stars is that I couldn't really tell what side Dean Lafayette was on but I loved I cried when Robyna and Morgan got kidnapped and I hate Bruno at first was like dang. but now I'm like I hate him and I wonder if the next book has anything to do with the trial for the murder.

I liked this , but was lost because this is a series book and I have not read any other ones before this so I was lost on some parts. But overall it is a great book just recommend to start at the beginning of the series.

This book wasn't as great as the following two and I found McClintock surprisingly spent most of the story describing the way Robyn was working in her town; I didn't sense the common "I have to solve this mystery" thing, and maybe that was a good thing. Then again, I really loved and I mean loved how much Nick played a part in this one - thank you, some real speaking for Nicholas D'Angelo!
I hope the last book won't disappoint!

It was amazing! I loved the dramatic pauses and enexpected turns of mysterious events. So Robyn, the main character, has a very great personality and thinks OUTSIDE THE BOX. Meaning very smart. This story is smiply amazing and the authour, Norah Mcclintock, has outdone herself! I would reccomend this book to mystery lovers. Plus, loved the ending!

Not a bad read for a McClintock novel ... but if you've read other Robyn Hunter books then you won't find much different here. I preferred last year's "Out of the Cold" as a mystery, but that's a personal preference. YA readers will devour it, of course, and that's what really matters.

i think that it was interesting at the end. when the whole thing was unraveled. i had already guessed one of the people involve, though it didn't mention it until the end.

Battle of the sexes...in the way that you can tell the personalities of the female and male are different in this book you see there different views....and I really did love this mystery.
