Where do I begin? I mean, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this series. I was completely enthralled with Dragon Wings and now Pixie Dust has captivated me as well. Was I surprised by this? No, of course not. DC Grace is such a fantastic writer that I knew reading Pixie Dust would rock my world.
So, as I dove in to Pixie Dust, I picked up right where Dragon Wings left off and immediately was thrust back in to the turmoil and angst that our beloved characters were experiencing. And...OMG at the drama!! The things that these characters have to endure throughout this book...which is not a short read by far...is heart-wrenching, action packed, romantic, heart-warming, and to top it off...SHOCKING!!
There were so many times while I was reading that I would be like..OMG...I can't believe that happened to Shelby. Or, NO...DC, you did not just let that happen to Dade...
But, with some fabulous characters in this series, you are so tied emotionally that when something like this happens, you are scarred and your soul is wounded.
Don't get me wrong...it isn't all depressing...There are some beautiful, magical moments that just take your breath away. Swept up in the mystical world of the dragon fae and experiencing every event right along with them, you can feel yourself transported to Avalon too!
I could go on and on about this book...but I don't give spoilers and I am afraid that if I continue, I will give some vital info away. And I just won't do that.
To truly understand and love this book, you are going to have to immerse yourself in to these pages and fall in love with them just like I had...

Hea y'all Anne here with my review for Pixie Dust book 2 in the Amethyst Dragon Series, and wow what a great series this is!! The book picks up where book 1 left off, well literally left you hanging if you will. When life hands you fate and destiny in the form of two former best friends there can only be plenty of heart wrenching drama. The story is immaculate and moving, complex scenes of love and honor tainted with betrayal leave you heart broken and yet continuously flipping the pages to see what happen next. Fated to one man yet destined to be with another will leave a girls mind reeling and her heart torn. DC has created an amazing story where you are taken away to a world full of fantasy and intrigue. She has built full and loveable characters, even the not so good guys have their moments where your heart will ache for them and your mind will question, why? I absolutely love this book and when I thought book one was the best I read book two and it blew me away. DC creates scenes where you can see, hear, smell, and taste what's going on around the characters but more than that you Feel what's going on!! You become attached to each character and you can associate with one or more of them. Be envious of their lives and feel connected to the pain and trials they face. So what comes next for my now beloved characters I can only imagine and wait! I anxiously await the next book as the author has again left a gut crushing blow just a breath away from the end. I can't begin to impress on readers how amazing this story is!!! The author has an amazing talent and her ability to have created such a captivating world and characters will surely land her on a New York Times best seller list soon!! For the ride of your life get Amethyst Dragon and Pixie Dust and tell me I am wrong, if you can!! 5 out of 5 stars for Pixie Dust by DC Grace, I'd give it a million if I could!
Have to start off by saying that this truly is one of the best series i've ever read and will stay one of my favourites. Can't believe more people don't know about it as it have everything a fantasy book could need! Romance, magic, suspence, mystery all with an amazing storyline that will keep you awake reading.
After the amazing cliffhanger of Dragon Wings your straight into the thick of Dade searching for his Chuisle Shelby Mercy, formerly of Kentucky but now kept captive in Orbis Alia by Dade's former best friend and brother Caelio. Both are Sentinels, Dragon Fae and have recently found that they are blood brothers sired by the evil Winter Dragon Palamonge. Whilst Dade has always strived to be honorable and fair Leo has let his jealously overule him and sought to steal anothers love for his own, with good and evil warring inside him the longer he stays in the land of the dead. Leo's life is changing forever with his actions against the Seelie heir to the throne so is there any hope for him?
Dade and Shelby were fated to be together with the rare Chuisle marks bestowed upon them by Gaia. With evil all around them and forces determined to pull them apart is love enough?
This book takes you through the full range of emotions where I was laughing at funny one liners one moment and near tears the next. The content is thick and rich with varying peaks throughout. You won't bored with it as a whole lifetime of events happens within Springtime in Avalon. Friends are made and broken and hearts are won and lost.
It's told from different characters view points to really give you the best idea of what one characters actions cause the others to feel. From Dade, Shelby, Leo and even Minnie you see the whole world through different eyes.
I think I possibly only noticed one tiny editing error and I can't even remember where that was as I was so absorbed in the story.
I know there's a rise in Indie authors now as printing your own books is easier but it truly shocks me that a book series like Fifty Shades is published and fawned over when an amazing series like this is left in the dark. I wish more people I knew had read the series so we could talk about the stunning cliff hanger Pixie Dust has left ready for Faery Rings in late 2013.
I received an eARC copy of this book directly from the author in return for an honest review.
10+*s. What would you do if you had to choose between your childhood friend or your soul mate? Tough question, huh?
I am totally in love with this series so far and especially Pixie Dust. This is an amazing story of hard decisions, charisma, action, love (sigh), friendships, loss (tears), laughter, and one heck of an amazing bunch of characters that you won't want to miss. I was glued to this story from beginning to end and I find myself going back and re-reading my favorite parts!! The characters are just as awesome in this story and so alive in my mind as I sit here typing this review!! There are new characters that are introduced into this story are remarkable and unforgettable as well!! This is a MUST read enticing story for all ages to enjoy, but be warned to laugh, cry and sad thoughout this very heart warming and heart stopping story!! Thank you, DC Grace, for the opportunity to read this soul inspiring story!! I am super happy to be apart of Avalon!!
The dreams of so many girls played out in this mystical series!
If you thought Dragon Wings was intense, buckle up my friends because that was just the beginning of the roller coaster ride; the part that takes you to where you see the big drop you are about to embark on! Starting with Vendigo's funeral, this book is jammed packed with emotional ups and down. I cried, I got angry, I cursed D.C., and I felt warm fuzzies - all through the book.
Dade says a tearful good-bye to his mother and then sets off to find Shelby. Shelby's memories have been hidden from her by the man who says he loves her, but it takes more than trickery and magic to keep true love apart.
There are several storylines playing out in this book, much as in life we all have stories that are weaved into the tapestry of other people's lives. We see Tryamon fall in love, Leo become unrecognizable, and Shelby develop a maturity not often found in girls her age. We meet new characters, and say good-bye to some that we love.
What I liked
I love the characters, even the ones that are meant to be hated, they have multiple dimensions. Shelby's relationship with her parents is heartwarming and something her father says to her when she finds out she missed the Spring Formal that she was really excited about that actually hit home for me.
"You know, Shelby, we all have to make sacrifices." he went on. "And sometimes, we sacrifice things we think are really important, and we dwell on them for a long time. Some people spend a lifetime pondering 'if only', and it makes them bitter. I know this dance was important to you. But years from now, when you look back on your life, you'll realize that all you missed out on was a dance. Nothing else. You'll have a thousand parties here in this palace, honey, and years of happiness and excitement. So don't spend your days worrying about the one you didn't get to go to. Your life, Shelby Mercy, is worth far more than any dance."
It is the powerful dialogue like that which keeps the book moving and the story line so intense.
What I Didn't Like
The only thing I didn't like was that I finished the book before the next one is available! I was left with my jaw on the ground and tons of new questions to be answered! I've already expressed to D.C. that I believe she is a wicked woman!

Best part of book: After the emotional roller from book 1, I didn't think it could be any worse.....WELL, I WAS WRONG! DC Grace is the greatest part of the book! She wrote a masterpiece in this. Just when I thought I had it figured out *BAM* another twist. I didn't think my emotions could handle it. OMG! By the time I got to the end of the book I was a "hot-mess"! Then after all of that the book ends, on one of the biggest cliffhangers I have read in a long time! I can't believe this! Now, forgive me for not going more in depth - but I really don't want to spoil it.
Not so great about the book: UuuuuMmmmm...I don't have book 3 yet! That is what is not great!
