I really enjoyed this. It was like Roswell meets Meet Joe Black. The ending brought hope and I am satisfied enough that if there isn't going to be another book (the series is a trilogy) I'll be okay with that. But of course, if there is a book 3 I will probably love it because it will be amazing!

I must say that Ella James is a phenomenal author. Her ability to pull you into the story is absolutely amazing.

Milo and Nick continue their adventure in Trapped. With Milo still trying to completely comprehend that Nick is actually an alien. As much as she wants to dismiss his words, she knows that they are the truth. The other truth is that him and his partner are at odds over the decision to invade earth.

Ella James has blown me away again with her creativity and originality! TRAPPED is the second in the HERE trilogy and it was just as intriguing as HERE, the first novel! The world she has created in this series is unlike anything I have ever read and she definitely leaves me wanting more!! I’m serious…the anticipation for the last installment of this series is going to kill me!!

The world she has created in this series is unlike anything I have ever read and she definitely leaves me wanting more!! I’m serious…the anticipation for the last installment of this series is going to kill me!!

The characters within TRAPPED are so much more well defined! When I finished HERE I wanted to know more about these character…I wanted to “see” more out of them. Ella brought that and so much more! Milo’s personality is hilarious. Her sarcasm and colorful vocabulary had me smirking throughout this entire novel. To me, she’s relatable and very likable because even though she’s completely freaking out she doesn’t come across as a damsel in distress. She’s strong-willed and wants to help out in this crazy situation she finds herself in as much as possible.

We find out a lot more about Nick and his extraterrestrial kind. Like I said earlier..I’ve never read a storyline quite like this one. I loved how Nick’s kind didn’t just want to “take over the world” because they were a “superior” race/being. They needed earth’s resources to survive; mainly gold. It wasn’t about the ultimate power or doing it because they could. I really liked the concept of running out of resources because I think in the time we live in now it’s a pretty real concept (even for humans lol). Even though Nick isn’t human Ella creates him in a way where you can’t help but to fall for him. His personality matches Milo’s in the sarcastic department and even though he’s like crazy smart he’s pretty down-to-earth (ha! pun intended!)

When you found me in your yard, did you have any idea how much fun you were going to have? His smile and voice were sardonic. “You should have came with a warning label.”

Along with seeing the two main characters more developed, we also see their relationship develop as well. The chemistry between these two was definitely there and it was hard to resist on both sides. Seeing Nick struggle with wanting Milo and knowing he would soon leave her helped me connect better with both of them. I loved seeing this pull and tug between them.

Nick was someone I would have wanted whenever, however. And it was epic.

The attraction between Milo and Nick is just the tip of the iceberg on the awesomeness Ella has created in TRAPPED. Again, her originality blew me away. I also liked that this was just as full, if not more, of fast-paced, intense drama scenes. This is definitely an action-packed novel that anyone who loves a good car chase and a few good loud explosions would get into. The overall storyline was just as good as HERE and the writing style was better. You can definitely tell Ella has gotten better with time because her stories get better and better. Honestly, I’ve come to expect that out of her because with every story I read from her I fall in love a little more with her as an author.

The HERE Trilogy is one I will definitely add to my “read again soon” list! ...more

Ella James has surprised me again. This continuation of the Here series picks up with a bang.

There's no break in the action as Trapped picks up right where Here ended. There is a new character, Vera, who throws a bit of snark and humor into the mix. The action really picks up in this one. Our characters are on the run from the bad guys and end up getting caught. Sadly, the book descends into the common trope of the humans being the stereotypical "we are going to slice you up and study you" sort. Ella James has surprised me again. This continuation of the Here series picks up with a bang.

There's no break in the action as Trapped picks up right where Here ended. There is a new character, Vera, who throws a bit of snark and humor into the mix. The action really picks up in this one. But here's where the realism steps away somewhat. It tends to get unbelievable here - not in a bad way, but in a common way. Where the first book Here was really inventive, this book is more about the characters dealing with the circumstances. Although Nick and Milo behave like normal teenagers, the whole science fiction aspect of the story is really pronounced. The realistic feel is sacrificed for action scenes, which move the plot along. I didn't mind overall because I liked where it was going.

With the introduction of Vera, we get a much broader back story of Nick. Who he is and why is explained much more in depth. And in this, James is able to keep Nick a sympathetic character in the way he explains things to Milo. He never is condescending but struggles to find the appropriate language to communicate concepts. Milo spends much of the book being intrigued by Nick and scared of him. And along the way she falls in love with him, which also plays into the story in a beautiful way. The relationship they began in the first book continues and grows in this book. Personal wants are set aside for the bigger cause. But the romance isn't sacrificed. It gets pretty sticky, which provided the tension that kept things going until the plot twist at the end. I thought I had the whole thing figured out only to be surprised yet again. This book is anything but predictable in that way.

Allison McLemore narrates this book as well as the first one. She has wonderful expression in the way she relates the characters. Her phrasing is spot on. My only criticism of her (and it is a small one) is that when a character is screaming or yelling, the narrator should also be doing that. Narrators seem reluctant to do that in many cases. They kind of "whisper yell," which lightens an otherwise tense situation. This was the case in some of the scenes in this book. Overall, some of the intensity was lost.

That said, the narration was again excellent. It made the book better.

There is talk of a third book in this series, but the author is apparently busy with other projects. This sequel took two years to follow the first book, which was a shame since the first book ended on such a cliffhanger. The ending here wasn't convenient or simple, but it did leave things open for another book. This story isn't finished. Hopefully James will take time to write the third book and finish the series. Milo and Nick's story is definitely not finished. I look forward to what comes next.

It isn't bad and characters are not annoying but after finishing second book in this trilogy I must say I'm disappointed.
I must have expected more. And while characters aren't annoying I didn't particularly care about them.

Trapped follows on right from where Here finishes off, so you will need to have read it first.

We are thrown right into things with Milo, Nick and Vera. It is full throttle right from the start as our trio are on the run from the men in black. The aliens still want to destroy humanity, Milo can't believe it is all happening.

We are taken on a ride, and now we just need part 3 to find out how things turn out.

This book is definitely of the YA genre. The only reason I didn't give it a five star review is that I'm so not a fan of scifi. But,the book was action packed from the first page till the last and kept my attention very well.

Milo and Nick's story continues in this second book.

No place for them to run to, no place to hide that they won't be found.

Not many people that they can trust and, they ones who are trustworthy are immediately in danger by association.

Another good book in this series. I liked this book a bit more than the first one - probably because the story was already established and I had already adjusted to the author's writing style. It continued the story from right where the first book left off. IN this book there was quite a bit more action and also more romance between Nick and Milo. Ok wow, book two was awesome. Cliffhangers drive me crazy, but damn I loved this. So much emotion, distress, and hope. Kind of expected it to happe, but it still caught me off guard. Shed some tears here and there. Felt my fist clench in anger and had to count to three to calm down when shit hit the fan. But just glad I finally got to finish trapped. Amazing!! Oh my this was a ride! So much action and craziness had me flipping pages as fast as I could! Things got real in this book. On the run with more and more chaos they face lots of challenges. That surprise I did not see coming just changed the whole series in a crazy awesome way. I am extremely excited for the next book!

I wanted to love this...I really did. I enjoyed the first book in the trilogy but I found this irritating and did not enjoy the writing style at all.

There were a few moments in it that I really loved, and that took me back to the first book, but overall this was extremely disappointing. I'm not sure if I will carry on to the trilogy's end yet.

Ella James has managed to keep me guessing on how book two of the Here trilogy will end and of course has surprised me. Nick of course is absolutely adorable. I can honestly say that I went from hating Vera to liking her. Thank you for the epilogue at least to give me some relief on the direction of the next book. I was really disappointed with this second book. I loved the first one, but this felt like a whole bunch of nothing just to finish off a single idea. And not nearly enough romance!
