I am first going to start off saying that I am not a zombie book person. When I started reading this series I was intriqued. Zombies, prostitutes, and cowboys? C'mon, who thinks of that? Jason Brant did and let me tell you again...IT ROCKS!
The first book is amazing. It starts the story off with a woman getting eaten in the street by unknown things that the Wild West is not prepared for. The second book was even better than the first. The storyline is off the charts on the WTF scale. The third bo ...more

The writer needs to use something other than “said.” Karen said, McCall said, this one said, that one said. Use something else! You can use some great descriptive words for the characters for emotive promises instead of the monotonous “said.”
How is discharging a firearm against the law for law enforcement? First, how stupid is that? Second, then why carry guns?
We are barely getting started and we’ve heard about this damn zombie not having lips way too many times already. WE GET IT!!!!

Omnibus is a collection of 3 stories taking place in the Wild West. We start with the town of Gehenna. Zombies, or moaners have invaded the town. The town preacher, who isn't what you expect of a normal minister, claims the judgment of God on the town while downing drinks from the local bar.
Karen, the town prostitute and McCall, a famous outlaw join forces to kill as many moaners as possible and escape this hell on Earth. They seem to walk from one hell right into another hell as the jump a trai ...more

A brilliant twist on the horror genre now with zombies, cowboys, outlaws, prostitutes and steam trains!
I need to take a breather to review this amazing story!

I just finished reading West of Hell Omnibus Edition and I've been agonizing over how I should write this. I've had a really hard time writing this one. Not because it wasn't good or anything - in fact it was for the exact opposite reasons. It was so amazing that my mind is still reeling from it all. What makes it so hard is knowing the things that I now know after having read it. West of Hell is so ingenious that I'm at a complete loss for words. There's something that I would very much like to

I think I have more questions than answers as I finish this story. A through-and-through zombie gore story, for sure!

The entirety of this series is one big ball of awesomeness. There's not a reason in the world you shouldn't read this series!
I've reviewed each story individually, and thought the best way to tell you to buy this omnibus is to share each review in this post! Here they are:
GEHENNA (West of Hell #1)-

This series is a definitely must if you like post-apocalyptic madness! Here's my review breakdown...
- GEHENNA -
The first thought that came to mind when I began reading Gehenna was... EWWWW! Jason Brant is way too good at describing the gore and horror the townsfolk of Gehenna had to face. His two main characters, an outlaw and a prostitute, were strong and immediately likable, despite their rather rough backgrounds.

I read these three books back to back, and right up to the middle of book three I was intending to award four stars. The reason for this was that whilst it was a superbly written zombie book, with the nice twist of an intelligent, good hearted, and brave prostitute as one of the central characters, the other being a former lawman with a secret, I didn't feel that it really differed from many other zombie stories. But half way through the last book,a few things started clanging around in my brain

I did not expect much from this book, however I was pleasantly surprised that I quiet enjoyed it.
The ending..ruined it for me, and took it to a two star from a four rating for me. Even if you read the authors explanation on his blog. To me it felt the author did not know how to finish the book, gave it the ending it this ending, and then thought, right how can I make this work, and then came up with the blog post about the ending. I might be wrong, but at least that's how it felt to me. It's a s ...more

"JASON BRANT" is an anagram for Bas Trojann, a former Bigfoot hunter who, after being abducted (and subsequently returned) by aliens, decided to hang up his ghillie suit and enter the world of professional arm wrestling. Despite back-to-back first place finishes in the South Dakota World International Championship League, Bas receded from athletics to invent cheese and give Al Gore the initiative
