The Savage Vengeance

Rate this book
The degradation of Queen Clara's sphere continues without apparent end. She must ask for assistance from the neighboring Kingdom of Kentucky to combat the demise of their way of life. However, the alliance isn't as strong without the promise of marriage, which in the past stood to unite the spheres.

Tensions run high, the ruination of additional spheres an imminent threat, causing strife and conflict. When Clara is seen as a pawn in a greater scheme and change of leadership, the Travelers interfere in an unforeseen way.

When two different groups of Travelers' objectives collide, a cataclysmic event ends in a scenario of unprecedented upheaval and resolution. Can Clara and the Band save the sphere and in so doing the people of the future? Will Clara find the peace and love she deserves?

This little gem has been on my impatiently waiting to read list for MONTHS.... MONTHS! When it was released I almost had a heart attack.
I needed to know what was happening with Clara.. with The Band... Heck, with ALL OF THEM!

In Savage Vengeance, Clara’s sphere has been under siege by salt, by Tucker- an evil man from the fragment that will not quit until Clara is his own. While he and the fragment are in pursuit of her, Clara visits King Otto in the the Kingdom of Kentucky. It is there that she encounters, Caesar, Prince Frederic’s cousin. And he is just as viscous and cruel as his family member if not more sadistic. His sights are set on Clara, and taking over her sphere.
As Clara and The Band have many test sent their way, the biggest struggle is wether they can beat time. Can Clara protect her sphere?

Dissolutions are made.
Blood is shed.
And The Band looks better than ever..... (focus Calia, focus...)

Thoughts after reading the book?!?!
How perfect was the Title?? This book was filled with all kinds of yummy vengeance. The kind I love. The kind we ALL love!
I was happy to see this. Poor Clara has been haunted and tortured by many, many people. This was her book, in the form of, it was time to take back her life. She takes a stand, and I love it. I say keep getting stronger Clara!!

Calia
A new female character introduced to the series... and I have to say....

Oh praise the Lord!!!!

Tamara has given redemption to the name Calia.....I was more than angry when Calla from the series Nightshade trashed the name. I promptly then called my mom and thanked her for accidentally misspelling the name Calla, to Calia....
But Tamara has made everything right.. I no longer have to worry about changing my identity on GoodReads.. or in life.....
She is such a great edition to this series.
Strong. BRAVE and Beautiful.
I am proud to share a name with her!!

The Band- Come on! You know I always have to mention my favorite males.... They’re all kinds of yummy. Their protectiveness is still intact. They won’t disappoint!!

There are many discoveries in this book. And the younger travelers that are incorporated in this series was well thought out, and very cool. I liked that there was someone else on their side, aiding them.

So why 4.5 stars??? (ohh.. thats still pretty damn good)
Romance.
Tamara excels at it. She can write a romance with so much tension you are sitting on the edge of your bed saying, “Oh, why can’t I be this girl?!”
There is so much of it in the first two, that I wanted more in this one! But I kinda have a feeling that this book was not meant to have heavy romance and was more focused on growth of the characters. I think the fourth one will be steamy... (if not.. I’ll be okay.. but PLLEEEASE Tamara.. Write a brief excerpt for your loyal Savage fans to read... We are all dying to read some more romance of Matthew... or Philip.. Okay just every guy in The Band

Now I have to wait until November for the fourth book!! The Savage Protector... (insert torture.) I have no patience!!!

If you’ve read the first two books, read this now!
If you enjoy post-apocalyptic... read this now!
Just read it now!

I read the book in a day. It was that good! Tamara gives us, yet again, another well written beautiful novel to take us away from our daily grind! No typos at all. At least I didn't catch any. Trust me if you are a fan of self published authors that is a major thing. Tamara and her editor did a great job of making sure the story flowed smoothly. This was even more important since we get to see our favorite Death characters. The marriage of both crews and stories was flawless. She took a huge risk doing this and she definately pulled it off. Clara is finally getting to the nitty gritty choices that she has been putting off for two books. I'm not even going to try and give a summary of the story. I'm afraid I will give too much away. Just read these books. You'll thank me.
Pros:
Umm Caleb, Jonesy, John, Tiff, Jade, Sophie, Alex, Bry,and Randi. Hello guys, thanks for joining the party. I missed you!
No more teasing we finally get a glimpse into Clara's heart! Of course it's not set in stone a lot can change.
Prince Fredric's cousin Cesear. Oh Tamara you are so cruel...but so is he. Thanks for letting Clara and I have a good ole laugh at his expense.
The brutal justice of this world is refreshing given the current new headlines. Sometimes bad people need to be swiftly dealt with and Clara and crew definately do that in this book.
Prince Fredric and Queen Ada. (read it if you want to know what I am talking about).
Cons:
NO CLYDE!!!!
Charles is becoming less of a douche. I kinda liked hating him.
I will definately be promoting this book and Tamara on my facebook and pinterest pages for as long as she keeps writing books.

When you find a book that keeps you up to the wee hours of the morning because you can’t put it down, you know you were just enraptured by an extraordinary story teller. I loved Vengeance. As a fan of both the Death Series and Savage Series, I was blown away by Tamara Rose Blodgett ability to have both worlds collide in a spectacular work of fiction. Many things are finally divulged about the mystery of the sphere and the travelers… Looking forward to seeing how this book cross over effects Death Weeps :).

I am not gonna lie, when I first heard that the kids from Death would be making a cameo in this Savage, I thought wtf? That has to be the stupidest thing the author ever thought to do, this is going to kill the series. I freaked.

I am so happy I was wrong! :)

Tamara took a HUGE risk doing this, and in the end it paid off. She weaved these to worlds together like an expert seamstress. I was in awe.

New character on the scene, Calia, LOVED HER. I love her strength and quick thinking. I hope that in future books her strength can pull out the strength that is lacking in Clara. Has Clara grown these last few books? Absolutly, but she is still not as strong as she can be. We did see a bit of her new found strength at the end of the book, so I really look forward to seeing what she has to offer in the next book.

I cannot wait for the next book. I tend to say that a lot, but it is true. This is a great series. I am so happy I found this author and her books.

Wow! There are books that grab you and books that GRAB you! This was a GRABBER! As if enough isn't going on ALL the time, midway through the book, a HUGE twist occurs, which, I have to say, took some brilliant talent from the author to pull off! It worked for me! This is an excellent book for older teens, loved the strength of the female characters, and oh yeah, the hotness of the males who love them!

Ok, so first of all, YAY to Charles for becoming WAY less annoying! I liked this book more than the first two and I think that may be why. I had a few issues here and there, but for the most part, they were resolved. The teen Travelers came out of nowhere so it drove me crazy for a little bit trying to figure out what their place was in the story, but by the end I was pleasantly surprised. I'm VERY happy with Clara for finally making a decision (and the one I wanted her to make at that)! This time around Edwin got annoying for me, but not too much. I just wished he was more about his sister than benefits.

I can't wait for book 4! I hate to have to wait so long, but that's life... and that's book series lol. I'm hoping book 4 will end peacefully. I usually expect a bit of a sour note, I don't want EVERY book I read to have a happy ending! However, this series has had so much turmoil, the end needs to be peaceful for me lol. I hope everyone can be friends. I hope Phillip gets the girl of his dreams and that Sarah opens up to the Band... I won't say who for either so as not to spoil too much for people. I hope Evelyn gets some sense and gets with Maddoc. I'm even hoping for a baby for the newlyweds :-D. I can dream right? I guess I'll find out which will come true when book 4 comes out!

Read it in one day! I patiently (not) waited for this book after reading book 1 & 2 in the series and it definitely didn't disappoint. The author does a superb job of bringing characters from her other series into this book. I love the fast pace of this book and love the romance in it, but at times I literally just wanted to slap a few characters for their silliness in matters of the heart. That is one of the main reasons I LOVED IT!! Even though there are twists, turns and action in every page the characters are very well developed and easily loved/hated.

One thing I would have liked to see is more of the spheres technology and their background. Was anyone in the spheres in on it? What happened to the people outside once those selected entered the sphere? Are there more spheres in other parts of the world besides the USA? I know I know now I am asking for history books and maps and an encyclopedia. I just loved the history we got in this book and it kept me wanting more!!!! ... Maybe book #4 or 5 will give us a bit more of the beginnings of the sphere and the "gills" as I call them. =)

Things might possibly be looking up. Sexual tension. Kidnap. Fighting. Rescue. Sexual tension. And repeat several times. And then throw in some new "Travelers" (super, super annoying for the most part) that blow the whistle on the old "Travelers" and essentially save the day. Then, Clara finally, finally, finally, grows a pair and makes a decision! Thank god! Oh, and the whole parallel/alternate reality thing finally makes sense too!

I wasn't thrilled with how many times the female characters found themselves in danger. At some point you have to ask, how many F'ing times is too many?? I am glad things finally sort of came full circle and started looking positive again. Ending on a good note is always nice and I look forward to seeing what happens in the future.

This book was the worst of the series. I was truly disappointed when the plot line unraveled or went to zombies!! It all felt really disconnected and I skipped half of it. I really just wanted to see it end well for Matthew and Clara but even that was a huge blah blah blah!! The running of several side stories never fully connected to the whole!

Great series

This series is about the different groups that inhabit earth after a devastating meteor attack. There's savages who live on the land, sphere-dwellers, who live inside spheres built to sustain life after the meteors and who never have ventured outside, and criminals sent from the future to this land.

I definitely recommend this read.

I'm quite disappointed in The Savage Vengeance. After the ending of the previous book, I was expecting excitement and for Clara to step up in her role as queen to squash the attacking fragment! Well, that's not what happened. At least not until the very end, when thing finally got good. For the most part, I was bored and frustrated with this installment since it also suffered from the repetition and unbelievability that started to show in The Savage Blood.

The Savage Vengeance opens up with Clara and her entourage heading to the Kentucky sphere in hopes of an alliance, despite the lack of joining of the kingdoms. Their the next sphere on the fragment's list, and Clara hopes to help since she's the only monarch with an alliance with those from Outside. Well, King Otto has other plans, such as marrying Clara off to his nephew, Caesar. Of course, he's a total creep and the cause for all of the problems with this book.

Clara is once again, somehow kidnapped. She's also punched in the face and knocked unconscious again. She's doubly kidnapped by the fragment. Again. How is this all happening for like the tenth time?! Can't something else happen? Plus, I couldn't see any way for Caesar to have even gotten to her in the first place. The Band never leaves her alone, but somehow he got into her room, and got her back out even with two of them at the door and Matthew keeping an ear out. I don't believe that for a second! Then of course everyone has to go save her, battle the fragment, and then return to the sphere where bad things were happening in her absence. Yawn.

The only thing I really liked about The Savage Vengeance was the crossover between the author's Death series. The kids from that series travel to Clara's time and help her fight the fragment and take back her sphere. They also have all of the information on what the heck is going on genetically in this world, so some answers are provided. It also nice to get some zombie action! Although Caleb does bring back some folks who he can't control since they weren't exactly of sound mind in life...

In the end, I sadly didn't like The Savage Vengeance too much. It was too similar to the previous books, but with more characters thrown in. Aside from wondering how the heck the Band let Caesar get to Clara in the first place, I also couldn't help but be distracted by the fragment's motives, or lack thereof. They're criminals from our world, as we already learned, but why do they spend all of their time kidnapping and raping women? There's no reason for that, since I don't believe only depraved rapists were sent to this world. It just makes me not care about them anymore as villains, since they're just kind of there being evil for no reason.

I really love the Savage series. Blodgett has created an alternate universe with characters so enticing and a plotline so unique that it’s impossible to put these books down. The Savage Vengeance, the latest in this riveting series, picks up with Clara and the Band as they decide to travel to the Kingdom of Kentucky to ask for assistance, the kingdom from which Clara suffered much abuse at the hands of Prince Frederick. Though Frederick is no longer a threat, Kentucky still holds much trepidation for Queen Clara, and rightfully so. Blodgett expertly sweeps directly into the action from there, and the already dire situation goes from bad to worse as events quickly unfold and Clara finds herself once again taken from her people and facing the atrocities of the fragment.

The suspense of this series is amazing. Without fail, Blodgett makes readers’ heart jump into their throats on multiple occasions as the battles between the fragment and the Band ensue. With a ratio of around 15 males to 1 female, the fragment find their livelihood through the kidnapping and trade of females, and the Band work to solely protect all women. Clashing on multiple occasions, blood is shed and both people of the fragment and the Band are hurt, but perhaps the most interesting part of this entire novel is the interweaving of series as Blodgett unites her characters from the beloved Death series into that of the Savage series. Using Caleb Hart and his friends to help explain more of the background of Clara’s world, the spheres, the different species within the strange world, and how it all fits into the genetic mutations of the teenagers in the Death series is ingenious!

I really loved having two of Blodgett’s series come together in this way; it’s completely unique and the interlacing of stories was extremely interesting and well done. Having read both series, I had no problems following the young travelers’ storyline as they “dropped” into the sphere world, and though I don’t believe one needs to read the Death series in order to understand their appearance in this novel, I still highly recommend it because it will help shed some light on their inner personalities (plus, it’s an amazing series!). Overall, I really loved this book.

Read my review of The Savage Vengeance here or at The Akamai Reader.

This book was fantastic! I loved every minute of it. I read it in one
day that I set aside just for it.

The courtship antics were toned down, much to my relief, leaving room for more adventure. There were less damsels in distress, which really did annoy me. Don’t get me wrong, Clara did find herself in a lot of trouble but she found herself rescued in new and interesting ways.

“Two different groups of Travelers’ objectives collide.” That’s when the book gets really interesting. My mind really boggled at what exactly was going on. I had a hard time grasping exactly what was going on but when I did understand it I loved it! I won’t say what went on for fear of spoiling it too much because that’s what I loved about the book the most.

The introduction of Calia who is a headstrong warrior female is another thing I loved about the book. Blodgett shows, once again, that there can be women in that world that can be both independent and strong. It’s a nice contrast to the more delicate females more prevalent in the series.

This is by far the best Savage book so far in the series. I eagerly await the next installment which should be out in September.

This book was so awesome!! I felt so relieved that Clara finally made her decision on who her king will be. Thank goodness, because that took FOREVER, lol. I will not tell you who it is, you'll have to read it to find who he is. I really liked how Tamara used her other series DEATH in her SAVAGE series. It blended so well. Now, I'm going to go and read her DEATH series. The world that Clara is in, or shall I say the alternate universe, is in peril because of creepy mad government scientists, I believe, who are from Caleb's world & he & his crew literally pop up and help out Queen Clara & her world. So much adventure from Tamara's books, it's amazing!! You're constantly flipping from one page to the next wanting more & more. It's quite delicious. It's exactly what I look for in books. A story that can hold your attention and keep it. Thank you, Tamara, for ALL of your series!! You've definitely made a fan for life!!

This fourth book in the series was filled with excitement, danger and love. The spheres continue to degrade which brings danger not only to Clara but the entire sphere realm. In a bid to find help to fortify their sphere, they set out to win assistance from Kentucky. But as sweet as this alliance should be, and as kind as the people in their neighboring sphere seem, there is an undercurrent of evil and danger in an alliance with them. And Clara's life is, once again, risked. The interference of the two sets of travelers causes conflicting problems for everyone involved.

I truly enjoyed it. Of course, Tamara Rose Blodgett has sent some of her characters on another thrilling adventure at in the cliffhanger ending. And, she introduce new characters who will be integral to the story's future. I will be picking up the fifth, in the series, to see what happens next.

Another great read

The author brought in a few more characters in this book. Clare was taken by Caesar, the cousin of Prince Frederick, to Tucker who was the leader of the fragmant. Caesar is just as crazy as Frederick was. While Clare is held prisoner she is rescued by a female named Calia which is also a "select".
We will also meet a group of young people from a different time, who are also known as the traveler's that have special gifts.
Close to the end of the book we will discover who Clare has chosen to be her husband, if he will have her.
This book is filed with action, anger, cruelty, pain, love, sacrifice, as well as protectors. This is the 4th book of the series and you will find it just as good as the others.

I thought the first book on the series was original and I like Clara. The second book was much the same in that women are constantly threatened, kidnapped and nearly raped forcing the men to rescue them. I just couldn't finish this book. It was the same as the first two, women getting beaten and almost being raped. It's the introduction of the Travelers that really ruined it for me. Maybe it's because the writing style changes so much or it might be the fact that all the new characters are one dimensional, I just couldn't get myself to finish this one. I might try to finish it some day, but I don't think I will read book four.

Once again, I am not disappointed in Blodgett's Savage series. Book 3 in the series picks up right where Book 2 left off, and we are thrown right into the politics of Clara's Queen duties and the task of trying to integrate Band with Sphere-dwellers. I love how Blodgett is able to easily transcribe in language of the past, present and future with ease. What separates this book apart is her ingenious ability to tie in her other series, Death, with this one. I have only read Book 1 of the Death series, but you can bet I will be catching up quickly to see how this will all tie together.

SPOILERS AHEAD:

I liked this installment in the series, but it didn't capture me like the first one's did. I loved the WTF moment with the Travelers and Band members together. I was geeking out when they brought back Ada and Frederick. My heart was beating and I was terrified for Clara. I love the combination of different universes and each having their differences and similarities. I hated the way the Travelers talked, but other than that they were enjoyable. Also, I'm glad Clara finally picked someone!

This series is going from strength to strength. There are so many elements to it that I had real difficulty trying to explain the story line to someone so all I could do was say "Trust me, it is great and you will just have to read it for yourself".

Now I just need to find the kindle edition of the next book ... proving to be difficult. Thankfully, I have The Savage Principle to read in the meantime along with the Death and Blood series'.

Update: can't find it as it is not out yet ... duh!!!

finally!!! It good to see that Clara made her choice, even she went through more suitors to get there. I loved the addition of new characters along the way as well as seeing some old ones behave better, or be gone!
BUT with plans for two more books, how is this gonna end?? obviously some peril will await Calls and Evie and their rescue will amount to a great deal, but I can't see an end in sight and I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. I can but wait and see!!
