A good story. The author has a good handle on where he is going with his character and story development. I feel like I know what's probably going to happen once everyone gets where they are going, but with the variety of characters, who knows what's in the mind of this father of six author.

The editing in this book is terrible. There are so many inexcusable mistakes. I will purchase and read the next book in the series. Beyond that I don't know.

I cannot recommend this book due to terrible editin

Shores Of The Dead: The Rising is the first book in an epic new Zombie trilogy that attempts to take the genre in a whole new, different direction and largely succeeds in doing so.

On a remote Caribbean island, a visiting eccentric Professor is not all he seems. Deep in the heart of a long forgotten cave, he attempts to manipulate his young lover and Research Assistant into waking an ancient evil but when she becomes wise to his scheme and tries to foil his plans, she is only partially successfu

What a great story. Multiple story lines that each held my attention. I never found myself saying "yeah, yeah get back to the good stuff." It was all good stuff!

The missing star is for the editing. I can usually ignore misspellings and grammar issues but misspelling words that are in bold and all caps...come on. Also, I found myself having to go back and re-read sentences because the structure was so confusing. If at first you don't get it, move a comma or rearrange some words and it will make s

This was a bit of a frustrating read as it veers from competent and at times engrossing zombie fiction to a very poorly written and cliched effort in the blink of an eye. For the most part it's ok though and the army of the dead thing could turn either into a masterstroke or a disaster, I'm not sure yet.

But (and this is a huge but) that opening! Oh fear god that opening is one of the most poorly written and utterly ludicrous openings to any book I've read. It's so bad it actually nearly made me

Josh Hilden pulled no punches in this book. It is extreme zombie survival horror. There are many things in this book which could be triggers for people with issues. It is dirty, mean and painful, just like the real world. In other words, one hell of an intense ride that is worth the price of your ticket. It's a Small World, this is not. There are touches of Lovecraftian Mythos at the core of his story as well, so it appeals to me for that reason also.

Book Two next.

I started reading the book late this afternoon and found it difficult to put down. It's now night and I finished the book. A very interesting take on zombies and the supernatural. Didn't much care for the f-bombs, but that's just me. This book has you rooting for the survivors looking for a safe place, and hoping the bad guys get there due justice real quick. There are a few grammatical errors, but they take nothing away from the story. Looking forward to reading books 2 and 3.

A riveting read. Couldn't stop turning the pages to see what happened next. The characters are well thought out and well rounded. The story seems to have a good way to go and I can't wait to get the next instalment downloaded!

I was so glad when Josh offered this book for free; I immediately got it and was hooked! Very good story about different groups surviving the zombie apocalypse. Not just your average zombie story, it's full of relationships and action. Love this series, keep 'em comin'!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

First this is about a zombie apocalypse , but the author goes about it in a totally and unexpected way. In the first installment, he attempts to explain the cause of the birth of the zombies and the story takes off from there. The world/country is over run as expected, but there are several pockets of resistance that arise and survive. These pockets are not like the television version, full of victory after victory, but
