Heart-in-throat, fingers-trembling-while-turning-pages good. I've fallen in love with Susan Sleeman's writing all over again. The opening scene took my breath away and I had a hard time keeping my oxygen levels up for the rest of the read. Danger and action expertly paired with romance -- the decadently toe-curling kind. If I wasn't lightheaded from the taut suspense, I was swooning over Cole! (Experiencing heart-palpitations just remember some of those scenes. Happy sigh,)

I love Susan Sleeman's books! Inspirational suspense at its very finest. This third book in her Justice Agency series features Cole Justice, who has carried around a huge burden since his friend was killed during their tour in Iraq. He also carries a second burden. Alyssa's police officer husband was killed two years ago, leaving her alone with 7 year old twins. Alyssa overhears something sinister on a run and now the killers are after her. Can the Justices keep her safe? Will she and Cole both ...more

A simple daily jog, leaves young widow Alyssa Wells in fear for her life. Overhearing something that has endangered her life, she is literally running for her life when she runs into Cole Justice, who is on the beach too. He helps her hide from the men chasing her, never realizing that he was getting involved in something bigger than himself.

Have you ever felt boxed in by circumstances? Where do you turn? How do you find your way out? What if you have overheard something that you were not intended to hear and suddenly your life is in danger? Alyssa was in that kind of situation. For her, the danger was tripled because it could affect her twins as well. Just as unexpected as what she heard was the sudden appearance of Cole Justice at her favorite spot on the beach. Could she trust him? She had never seen him before but meeting his si ...more

Wow! I liked Cole Justice’s story allot because he has overcome so much and thankfully realized what he’d be missing out on a blessing before it was to late.

Alyssa accidentally over heard someone, she thought she trusted, her husbands partner say he had killed him and now she’s running for her life. In her flight for life she comes across Cole Justice, who happens to be out in storm fighting his own troubles, thankfully helps her out and she feels drawn to him even though she doesn’t

This is book three in The Justice Agency series, It is a stand alone book, however they are all amazing. They do go in order and you will miss some of the history of some of the characters if you jump in the middle but nothing that is necessary to understand what is going on in this novel.

I love the suspense, romance, heartache, dialogue, and so much more that are always present in one of Sleeman's books.

The Justice Agency series all revolve around an amazing family, the Justice fam

The Justice Agency Series is a very good series to read. Just finished up reading book #3 in this series NO WAY OUT by: Susan Sleeman. The way the story unfolds give you food for thought the way two people with shattered lives with betrale from a Husband and a death from a friend in Iraq put an Ex Soldier and U.S. Marshall in a tail spin that has him feeling guilty about the one being alive; this story will show you what God has planed for them and he guides them to each other.

this is an ebook from the library and so I didn't read the Justice Agency series in order. This is Cole's and Alyssa's story. The Justice siblings being Law Enforcement workers. Small town with murder mystery and drug problem and not knowing who to trust as the law seemed to look good but...? So on to finding another of Susan's books

No Way Out by Susan Sleeman - A Book Review
“We can’t control things around us. Not a single one of us can. God is in charge.” Who could not benefit from this reminder from Dani Justice? Most of us have struggled with guilt about things that happened that were in actuality out of our control. Susan Sleeman tells a tale filled with suspense and surprises that not only entertains, but also illustrates the damage we can do to ourselves and our relationships when we allow pseudo guilt, the guil

Today was a good day and a bad day to read this story. (April 15, 2013) Susan wrote the book with "Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you." Because with trials the only peace is through God. The bad part was it had a explosion in it. A little to vivid in my mind today.

The plot is simple with some twists to it that were unexpected in some ways. I really like the characters. I liked how Alyssa was turning

This is only the second Harlequin romance I've ever read. The other, along with a science fiction novel, were research. Therefore, if I review this as if it were mainstream fiction rather than as fan of romance novels, you must factor that in.

That being said, I would like for the romance to have unfolded slowly, while keeping the quick pace of the action.

The romance:
Alyssa and Cole fell head-over-heels from the first sighting, In the midst of life or death circumstances. They

What a great combo of romantic and dramatic suspense! Alyssa Wells and Cole Justice have a chance meeting . .. . on a ledge . . . overlooking the ocean . . . ..on a dark, stormy night. Cole was running from events in his past; Alyssa was running (literally) from events that would prevent her from living another day of her future. Divine providence teams them up to solve what starts out as a local mystery, with tentacles reaching out to include many other unsolved cases that were the trademark o ...more

A suspenseful inspirational romance.

Alyssa Wells has uncovered evidence that her police officer husband was murdered by his partner. That’s a dangerous claim to make in a small town. She had not suspected it was even possible until she was in the wrong place at the wrong time and overheard a conversation between three men. No Way Out by Susan Sleeman grabbed me on the first page. I was riveted to the story of Alyssa Wells and Cole Justice. Alyssa is a widow with two young children and on a run one night overhears her dead husband’s police partner admit to being part of a meth ring and killing her husband. As she hurries away, she slips and the bad guys are after her.

After two tours in Iraq, Cole Justice is back in the states working as a private investigator. He’s out on the beach the night Alyssa runs

No Way Out is definitely filled with suspense! The story line keeps you turning the pages wondering if the mystery murder will be solved without more harm coming to Alyssa, her kids and the Justice family. Alyssa and Cole both have a lot of hurdles to overcome in their lives. The author does a great job progressing them through the struggles that are holding them back and brings them out on the other side as someone who is all the better for having faced the difficult life circumstances. This book is third in a series about adoptive siblings who have formed their own law enforcement agency called The Justice Agency. From the opening sequence, you are drawn into the story with a beach chase scene having the heroine, Alyssa literally dropping into the arms of the hero, Cole Justice. From there, the action never stops. Alyssa's law enforcement husband was killed or maybe murdered in the line of duty leaving her a single mother with twins. She doesn't trust anyone. Cole, having endu ...more
