I have been looking forward to this book for some time and was very excited when the chance came along for me to snag it. It was an enchanting, exciting read and it had all the elements that made the first one memorable—mythology, magic, and mayhem.

One of my favorite things is the archaic, era-appropriate terms and language. It gives the story a wonderfully authentic feel and who doesn’t like learning new words? These stories are woven in with just the right dose of the arcane, yet never enough

Betrayal by Melissa Sasina

4 Stars

The time has come for Shiovra to travel to Dun Fiain to marry Lord Culann’s son, a man she has never met, to hopefully bring peace between the clans. The journey was not without incident, Fomorii fog separated the group allowing Shiovra to be attacked by Cumhea, and Odhran to be critically injured trying to rescue her. After reading Defiance, I was so excited to read this book. The author didn’t disappoint she kept me enthralled with this book as well. I love series books because we get to see the characters gain greater depth and become more real. There is also more about their lives and communities, which lets me make an even more detailed world in my mind.
Shiovra is about to marry a man she has never met and that is totally foreign to me it also gives the reader more information about the culture of the ti

Oh how the plot thickens when you add deceit betrayal. Who can Shiovra really trust and is the enemy really the enemy. As Shiovra sets out to decide between love and the duty of the High Priestess she realizes that some things are not as they seem and not all have her best interest at heart. As this story wove it's way through my head and heart the more involved I became. Odhran at this point has my heart Shiovra's as well. Though Shiovra is betrothed to another as she sets out on the journey to ...more

Good book but too many typos

I really have enjoyed this series. But the book has so many typos that they pull me out of the story. With another edit I would give it 4 starts.
