Jazzy Williams is not your average coffee-loving teen. She's struggling with her grief, her famous uncle’s fans, an overprotective big brother, and a depressed mother, all while trying to make friends at her new school. In the first week, she m

I am a reader of mystery, suspense, thrillers, action/adventure and some paranormal. YA/Paranormal/Romance is not something I would put on my must read list. I chose to read this, however because of the paranormal element in the story. With that said, here is what I found:

This story is a high energy, fast paced with very likeable characters, a story of family, love, loss, hope and friendship.

Jazzy is a young girl trying to find her way through a very devastating time in her life. It's not an eas

When I started this book, even after reading what it was about, I was not as prepared for this awesome book as I first thought!!
Jazzy has experienced some very heart-wrenching tragedy in the last year and little does she know her world is not done being shaken up. Jazzy meets Seth and knows right away he is special to her. How she can become so attached so quickly to someone she just met, she does not understand. That is until Seth drops a big bomb on her, she is his soul-mate and he is not huma

3.5 Jazzy stars!Get it? Jazzy... Lol...

PLOT: I'm a sucker for the whole Soul Mates thing. I mean who wouldn't want something like that in their life? A person that's been created just for you. Jazzy and Seth I think work really well together. They seem to complement one another like no other. Like many heroines in paranormal/supernatural settings, Jazzy is a tough chick. She wants to prove to herself and those around her that she can take care of herself. And she does a really good job. BUT what

I give True Connections by Rachel Walter 5 stars!!
I only wished I could give the author more stars!! This is such a magical and wonderful read I was so sad to get to the ending!! I really loved this story. I connected with all of the characters! This is a really great book for the paranormal readers. This author is very talented indeed, she captivated me and I didn’t want to put this book down at all. Jazzy’s and Seth’s story just wow. I was so happy to see this was different than most paranorma

Upon finding out that this was a paranormal Young Adult novel without a love triangle, I was definitely interested. Love triangles aren't something I normally like as a reader, and it keeps me away from a lot of Young Adult. This book promised a soulmate, thereby meaning a relationship with only one guy. It also promised supernatural things and immortals, and of course I love those. When I read this story, I found an interesting tale about f

True Connection is hard for me to review because I’m too afraid to give too much away and no one likes someone who spoils the book. Before True Connection was completely finished, I had the pleasure of chatting with Rachel beforehand. We would share snippets and help each other out however we could. Most of the time it was moral support. So when Rachel asked, or maybe it was more of me saying I want to beta True Connection, I absolutely fell in love with this story.

Jazzy’s character is real. Sh

I so enjoyed this book. It had me captured and enthralled within the first 5%. I thought it was sweet, funny, and thoroughly captured young adult relationships - including friendship, family, and love. I loved Jazzy. She was the kind of girl I would love to be friends with. She's sweet, funny, and compassionate. Jazzy and her family suffer quite a tragedy and it tears a hole into their little universe. Upon

Two months, four days and twelve hours ago, my life was perfect, whole. But now? Now it's shattered and missing some important pieces.

Jazzy Williams and her older brother Henry have just moved in with their uncle. Both dealing with the grief following the death of their father and sister and the absence of their mother who is receiving some treatment for the state of her mental health. As well as their Uncle, they have each other to lean on.

Starting a new school is always hard, but Jazzy qu

When I opened True Connection I was excited to see what Rachel had written. She was stressing over it and I knew it had to be good. I had been hearing about all these characters for a long time. Let me say this now, I love paranormal books and Rachel Walter is on POINT with this one! Most all are the same either wolves or vampires. Rachel brings more to the table with her own. I don't want to explain what Seth is you must read for yourself.

I discovered this book months ago just after it's cover had been released and I was instantly intrigued by it! The cover was stunning and I really wanted to read the story behind it! Overall I loved this book! There were several points in it that confused me though! I found it hard to sometimes tell who was talking and then the overall plot had so much in it, but it was all amazing and progressed very well! The plot was unique! It had different supernatural creatures in it and I can say

True Connection... Where do I even begin?

I was excited for this book as soon a it was brought to my attention. It's a new adult book which like most readers are totally loving at the moment. However what really got my attention was the supernatural aspect of the book.

It's been a while since I have read a book that has anything to do with the supernatural world... This is mainly due to the fact that most New Adult books are contemporary romance... I am so not complaining! I love a good romance,

I'm a sucker for soul mate books. So being completely honest I picked this book up because it had a mention of soul mates. I felt really bad for Jazzy in the beginning of the book. She lost so much but she seemed to be holding on okay and I do love that she was a stronger character and wasn't really a "shell" of a heroine. Sure she had those moments where you just want to shake her but let's be honest what heroine doesn't?

3 3/4 stars.... this would be a solid 4 star read for me except for one tiny little thing. All I could think about though the whole book was the Twilight series. The plot line seemed familiar: meeting on the first day of a new school, a human winding up with a mystical supernatural being sole mate, a wolfy shifter protection detail and a group of life-sucking beings (including a curly-haired redhead) after the main character Jaz. All that being said though, the story still managed t

Rachel Walter has weaved this mystic world that you really want to be a part of! I loved this book. I was sad when I had to put it down to tend to life. Jazzy and Seth are a dream! I love their relationship. It's exactly perfect for their age level, yet a relationship that anyone at any age, including me in my thirties, can appreciate. My teen daughter loved this book, too. It was perfect for her.

Well, I got exactly what I expected, to say the least. But hey, despite low expectations I gave it a fair shot. To be honest, it is not the worst book of its kind, it’s just a primary example of the abyss that YA paranormal romance has become in a post-Twilight world.

We have yet another story of a girl starting at a new High School, falling for a hottie on her first day, discovers he is some supernatural creature and then is hunted by other creatures. You‘ve heard that story before. Many, many

I had been in the mood for a good paranormal romance when I picked this one up, and I’m so glad I did. Because the paranormal aspect of this book was GREAT. And I have to say that was probably the crowning jewel of it too. There were so many new paranormal creatures introduced to me that I found myself captivated by the intricacy of it all. The author created a very believable world and I loved the relationships in the story. The main characters were great, but also the secondary. Over all a fan ...more

True Connection by Rachel Walter is a good book. With a terrific plot and an enormous cast of characters, Walter has undertaken a daunting task. New twists and demonic creatures, graphic fight scenes and a well written love story. It drags a bit, naturally, and I found myself losing large sections of time and events that I thought were presented in a manner of importance, were washed over in the aftermath. The details approaching these events, the art show for example, were rich with emphasis. B ...more

Soul mates, shifters, phoenixes, ... You name it, this story has got it!

If you want an intro into the whole paranormal genre, read this book and you'll get a lot of it covered.

Jazzy, our female lead, has just been through a serious traumatic event that causes her and her brother to move in with their "famous uncle".

Due to this they are forced to go to a new school, their old school rival one that is.

Enter, Seth, her one and only soul mate and the

Usually I'm okay witht he soul mate thing because it's an exuse to believe in the love at first site thing, which I just despise. Love at first sight it just a shallow decision of the mind in my opinion. I didn't like this book. I didn't believe their chemistry, they didn't seem in love to me. The brother was just annoying and the friend thing to. I'm glad that the brothers friends were magical as well because it gave an exuse as to why they were so weird about her boyfriend. This story was amazing! When it started out I thought it was another high school boy meets girl and falls in love. It is so much much more than anything like that. Yes there is a romance, but for me the focus of the book was the main character Jazzy and her family. The family goes through a traumatic experience and lean on each other while their whole world changes. I just loved the paranormal theme of the story. It had a good diversity of paranormal creatures that I don't usually see in stories ...more

It took me almost 10 days to finish this book. It was extremely boring and weird book. The dynamics of relationships is too fast. I am not even talking about relationship between boy and the girl. Almost everybody in the book jut magically fall in love with the MC and are ready to fight to death to protect her. And the "hero" of the book...seth, is just there. He is just an eye candy on the MC's hand. He has no important role in the book. Heck MC's brother has more role than MC. I am glad the bo ...more
