This was weird - rtc no really, it was freakingfreakn' weird.

Totally read this for a challenge and I'm NOT going to dive into any of the other books for this series. Unless I really, truly, hate myself one day. Who knows - it could happen because HAVE YOU MET MY BOSS? Sometimes I just want to throat punch him and I usually will listen to an audiobook to calm my throat punching nerves.

Sadly, this book was just weird. Low-key barely listened to it because at that point - I needed background noise

I can't even. I seriously can't even. "Warning: Hot, steamy threesomes, chauvinism and more are running wild in the jungle. Can you handle the heat?" When I bought this book, I had seen that warning that caps the description. I took chauvinism to mean that these heroes would be more in-your-face domineering alpha. Instead, what Langlais says is chauvinism is in fact it's dear and hateful cousin: misogyny. A.k.a. "the hatred of women by men" as defined by the dictionary. What makes me say that?

LMBO. Leave it to Eve, to throw a woman in the middle of the jungle, have two men that dont speak English kidnap her, then get her all sexually frustrated and do nothing. This story was just too funny! I havent laughed so hard in a long time and believe me I needed it.

The characters are really well suited for each other. I really loved the bartering between Acat and Charlie, it made the story feel so real. Plus it goes to show you, dont expect an America woman to just roll over and submit to

I was promised a shape shifter erotic romance and the only part which Jungle Freakn' Bride delivered was the shape shifter part. I have never before read a threesome this tepid. This steamy jungle is apparently located in Nebraska. The heroine, Carlie, is supposedly on a jungle expedition for a pharmaceutical company which would presuppose she was qualified enough for a professional corporation to pay the associated costs. As far as I can tell from her behavior in the book she's barely qualified ...more
Eve Langlais writes fun, quick, erotic paranormal romances that I often enjoy. I had trouble liking any of the characters in this one. The hero trying to mold his mate was annoying. I couldn't sink into this one and just escape.

I jumped right into this one right after reading Human and Freakn'. From the events in that book and from the synopsis, I thought I would have issues with this one. And I was not wrong. Huge issues with this one. In fact, if this was the 1st book, I would have thought "fuck this series" andwouldn't have bothered to read any more. But, it's not and each book is about someone different (thankfully).
The following quote says it all: "Outside the village, women didn't exist to serve their husbands.

I've stalked all of Eve's books for the last few years. Her stories are always just the right length, humor, sex, romance... they keep me coming back every time and they don't disappoint..

Carlie is doing research with others out in the jungle when her and 2 other girls are kidnapped. She awakes in her "closed" tent to find a cat, more specifically a jaguar... after spotting two jaguars she ends up being drugged and carted off. For those of you who've read book 3 you'll remember Ruth's adventures

Oh what a wonderfully HOT and invigorating jungle adventure! I love Eves original and very entertaining humor. It just shines right through everything she writes. Add on some hot shifters, a beautiful tropical jungle and amazing sex and we have ourselves one great read, one that any erotic, paranormal romance reader will enjoy a tropical escape with ;)

Carlie is with a research group deep in jungle depths right along with its wildlife. Shes one tough cookie that loves her freedom and will not

After reading (and hating) the Pack series, I was reluctant to even look further at Eve Langlais' books. A friend convinced me to try the Freakn' Shifters series and I have to admit, I've been quite enjoying them all. Until this one. Once again, the author loses her characters early in the story, again plying up the misogyny card, now adding kidnapping and possibly rape as well as forced mating and even forced race-change. Worse, she totally assassinates her two main characters' character in ...more

So, Im totally loving the Freakn Shifters series by Eve Langlais. Theres hot alpha shapeshifters, snarky family members and some smokin hot sex. What more could you want?

Jungle Freakn Bride is another in this series. Its a bit different from the others in the series. This time around we dont have anyone from the main family that is usually in the story. This time we have two members of the Moon Ghost Jaguars and a stolen bride.

Now, while I really like Eve Langlais and the Freakn Shifter

3.5 stars. These are super fun quick reads, but I always find if I don't love at least one character in E.L's books, I won't end up loving the book. I didn't like or hate the Carlie, or Acat but I did LIKE the Chaob guy but didn't love him either. I also found myself skimming three or four scenes in this book, because they were in the last book with the sister, Ruth, and I wasn't for reading all that again even if you get little thoughts from Carlie. I can't say I'm completely satisfied by this ...more

hilarious and cute, and who doesn't love a shifter romance book...........

A girl with attitude, lots of attitude ............and the dialogue is just so entertaining, I read the series a while back and re-read this for a challenge this month and just, forgot how entertaining this series was, and perhaps I should re-read the whole series instead of just part!
Meh, she kind of lost me with this one. The whole, "we can't tell you because it might hurt you" thing bothered the heck out of me. She was FORCED to partake in a magic ritual that could have killed her. I don't see how you come back from that.

I love the mix of tribal and modern more than I thought I would! I'm not sure how much is based on actual historic tribes (minus the shape shifting obvi) but I truly did have a good time reading their stories unfold.
Another good one, well narrated by Tillie Hooper too.

Way to go to the non submissive woman!!! I loved Carlie since I read little bits and pieces about her from Human and Freakn'.
Carlie is out in the jungle doing research when she awakes to find a jaguar in her tent. Stolen away by the mysterious Moon Ghost Jaguars, Carlie finds herself trying to hold on to her anger while being tempted by two gorgeous men. Who can stay mad when surrounded by ripped, hot bodies.
From a lifestyle built on tradition, magic, and domination Acat and Chaob have their

Cute story - wasn't what I thought it would be, but it went along with Human and Freakn'

I read Human and Freakn' first so I was more familiar with the whole jungle ways. the way of the Ghost cats -

The book starts off with Acat, the future Alpha of the tribe talking to his grandfather. Acat is the one who has been in the real world and knows of the the ways women think.
So when his grandfather told him that the Gods have spoken, and his bride is out in the jungle, Acat didn't want to believe
This was a very good story. It was a fun, enjoyable read.

Carlie is a cool leading lady. She is on a trip in to the jungle while working for a pharmaceutical company researching plants. She gets kidnapped but two jungle hunks, Acat and Chaob. She's attracted to them and has a hard time resisting them but she always tries to hold her own. She doesn't know how she could be happy being a jungle bride as it's so different from what she's used to. That being said, she does give their life a try and

Oh brother--yet another supposedly feisty female (newsflash, just saying someone is strong doesn't make it so...) adamantly telling herself she'll stay strong but who caves in into being a simpering pile of spineless goo with open legs. 'Oh, my inner (view spoiler)knows they need a strong mate, yet I still will beg for their hoo-hoo getting shoved in to my hoo-ha, preferable both at once'..or words to that effect.

I suppose the point is to show the mating hormones are

When I saw this book was 3.5 I thought it was going to be shorter, but I am so glad I was wrong. This was a full story and I loved every second of it. I am just so happy Eve recognized that Carlie needed her own book and delivered us with this epic holy freaking hotness of a story!

Jungle Freakn Bride has to be my favorite of the series. Or close favorite its so hard to tell. One of the main reasons is because these men grew up as boys knowing that when they met their mate they where going to be

This is my favourite of the series so far. This story runs alongside the one of Human and Freakn which featured Carlies sister Ruth on a mission to save her from her kidnappers. Although headed as book 3.5 I feel it best to read after Ruths story. This is the story of what happened between Carlie and her two kidnappers, who just happen to be a pair of freakn jaguar shifters!

Not only that but it shows what happens when a modern woman is thrown into a thoroughly traditional tribe. The situations

This story touched a few uncomfortable nerves for me. I would have given it 2.5 stars but rounded it up to 3.

The story was okay but there was a little too much loss of control for Carlie when she was captured and transformed against her will. It felt too much like rape. I just thought Acat and Chaob were wrong for hiding so much from her so this story didn't work for me as much as other stories by this author.

I'm all for loss of control when it's a game between all consenting adults but that

The Moon Ghost jaguars Acat and Chaob are on a bride hunt and catch the scent of their destined mate, Carlie. Carlie is an American conducting research in the jungle and abducted from her tent by these two warriors who refuse to communicate with her, drug her and carry her off to a jungle "bride hut" to battle other warriors from their tribe for the right to mate her. I was looking for a fun light read and this one was a little much on the alpha overload side. Her sister also came to the jungle ...more

I loved this story also. Love the Freakin' series. I am glad that she wrote this story, because we get to see what actually happened to Carlie. I like Carlie, she had me cracking up and kept her guys on their toes. I also like the guys too, my favorite was definatley Chabob. He was the more at ease guy. He just waited for her to do crazy stuff then Acat to be mad and then he would fix it.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog)

It wasn't in Carlie's plan to get abducted by two tribal men hell bent on making her their new wife, no matter how hot they are she isn't staying as their jungle bride. No matter what her heart and her body wants, Carlie isn't the type to be staying home barefoot and pregnant as the traditions of her jungle men dictate.

What's not to love? Two sexy guys gallivanting around the jungle in little loin cloths, I definitely wouldn't mind being Jane to Acat and Chaob's Tarzan!

I really loved Acat and Chaob. They are great friends and their personalities work perfectly together - a very well balanced pair full of confidence. But when they finally are sent on a mating hunt and find Carlie is their prize - they wonder if something may be wrong. Not only is she not a native - which if frowned upon - but she refuses to settle down and be a "good little woman."
