This is the third and final book in the Delilah’s Diary series. As one would expect, it has a happy conclusion; this book focused on the end of Delilah’s struggle to accept love openly, and the beginning of Delilah and Luca’s life together.

The most powerful scene was when she realized, after taking some time away to think clearly, that she really did love Luca, and could comfortably tell him. The lovemaking that ensued was very deep and profound, unlike the physical love that had been occurring previously.

Some of the writing in this novel was so eloquent. Jasinda Wilder made Delilah’s feelings towards Luca so clear to the reader that it made me think, “If only everyone could express themselves to their significant other like that, relationships would flow so much better.”

Here are some examples:

“No, no, baby no. Don’t you know women cry from happiness sometimes?”….”You treat me right. You say things that make me feel..cared for.”

“So why does this make you cry? I confess I am puzzled.”

“Because no one has ever treated me the way you do. No one has ever said the things to me that you do.”…”It’s intense. It’s kind of scary. It’s a complete change. When you’ve spent your entire life feeling different, feeling like you’re not enough, not good enough, not skinny enough, not pretty enough, it can be really difficult to accept that someone thinks differently, even if it’s a good thing.”

“Ah, now this I understand.”…”You do not always see your own worth, I think. You are not so skinny as I think that American ideal of perfection is believed to be.”...”No, please. Only listen. I like you as you are. I say ‘like’ because I think the other word makes you worried, but it is true enough. I would not like you so much if you were skinny, all sticks and skin. You have curves, you have a body to touch and hold. And also please remember, I am not American. I am Italian, and we have different ideals of beauty. And you, amore, are my ideal of beauty.”

I think I know why people say they’re ‘falling in love.’

I’ve always hated that phrase. I never really understood it. Love was a choice. Something you worked at. I mean, yeah, I understood that you didn’t always choose who you fell in love with, that it happened outside of your control. But, the verb “to fall”. Why that one? Why falling? It implies a complete loss of control, a total helplessness to stop your tumbling over the edge. When you fall, you transition from solid ground, from balance, into open space, off balance.

When I think “to fall” I think of standing on the edge of a skyscraper. There are no guard rails or Plexiglas walls, just dizzy height, people like ants and cars like toys, the hard ground hundreds of feet below, and you’re wavering on the edge, arms flailing, but you can’t regain your balance. You’re falling. Air rushes past your face in a deafening roar, and you have time to realize, “this is it, I’m going to die.”

It’s like that with Luca. It’s inevitable. I can feel it happening, and I can’t stop it. Unlike falling off a building, however, I’m not entirely sure I want to. The loss of control is scary. The vulnerability is frightening.

I wish you could choose to fall in love. Or rather, not fall at all, but walk into love. Be in love without falling.

But then, if we didn’t fall, implying all the trust and loss of control and complete vulnerability, would it be as sweet? Would it be as satisfying and life-changing? If you could choose it, and control it, would it be as potent and soul-searing?

I’ll let one cliché slide: he completed me. Clichés are so often repeated because of their inherent truth. In this, the truth is undeniable. The person who truly, madly, deeply love you does in fact complete you.

Well done Jasinda Wilder! I look forward to reading more of your work.

Adored this short series. Delilah's ability to move forward even as the fear of what could happen took hold of her was a great theme. Luca...what can be said other than ladies it is time to book your trips to Rome and hope that some you get mugged and find your own Italian knight in shining armor to rescue you.

Delilah has the courage that many do not have. What Fifty Shades did for the sexual desire, Delilah said I'm ok and I deserve the best and to go for it. I was wanting more but this was the end. Well worth the read. Short and sweet. Jasinda Wilder has done a wonderful job bringing the average girl into the sexy vixen world. Look forward to her others.

Series Rating 4.25 Stars. Caution: this review is for all 3 Delilah's Diary books

"It ain't the end of the world, you know. Just the end of what you knew."

I downloaded Delilah's Diary 1: A Sexy Journey by Jasinda Wilder from Amazon as a freebie. Let me warn you now, just go ahead and grab all three: Delilah's Diary 2: La Vita Sexy and Delilah's Diary 3: Sexy Surrender. This is really one book split into three parts, but luckily they are all out, so there is no cliffhanger to worry about. Let me start by saying these are erotic books, in other words, they tend to be on the "lady porn" side of things, but honestly, I'm not complaining. (Though if my husband had Jasinda's number, he might call and thank her.) Though there was a LOT of sex, there was a great story, and I wish there was more. The stories are each pretty short (about 60 pages each) but the three together are a wonderful, complete journey with a great ending.

Delilah unexpectedly came home to find her husband of 8 years in bed with the pastor's "skinny" wife. (I don't get the impression that Delilah is plus sized, just a little curvy, like a size 12). When she runs to her sister's for comfort, she finds out that her sister, and half the town has slept with him as well. Harry is the only man Delilah had ever even kissed, and her only knowledge sexually is: "I'd roll to my back, and he'd put it in, and then he'd finish, and that's it." Delilah takes her belongings, empties the joint account and heads to Chicago. On the way, she gets 2 great pieces of advice.

"My advice? Just love life, do things. Have an adventure. Meet a man and don't hold back. It doesn't have to be love, you know. It can just feel good too."

"Get a Makeover. Change how you look. Go wild, girl. Who you used to be is gone. Be someone new."

Delilah takes that advice, and starts with a makeover. When the woman at the salon hooks her up with 2 gay guys, George and José, for a makeover and shopping spree (such fun!), Delilah is transformed. She even finds the nerve to touch herself and give herself her first big O at the age of 29. While on this journey of self discovery, Delilah decides to travel the world and picks up a netbook to journal her experiences. Hence the names of these books. These are written as a diary...kind of. George gives Delilah some more good advice for moving on:

"Just be true to who you want to be. Don't let anything hold you back."

Off Delilah goes to Rome--with a one way ticket, and only her new clothes, cash and netbook. Free and happy, and ready to finally experience life, she is doing just that when fate interrupted, and she meets Luca. Tall, dark, Italian and gorgeous, Luca rescues her and takes care of her. There is an immediate connection. After dining and spending some time together, they are alone, and Delilah realizes she is truly desired for the first time, but is afraid...she doesn't know what she is doing.

"This Harry was only a selfish pig of a man who did not deserve you. You need to be taught what true pleasure is, I think."..."If you are sure you want this, with me, tonight, I will be as slow an educator in the arts of love as you could wish. If not, there is always another night..."

After some amazingly hot sexy times, Delilah's heart gets caught up...and her inner voice keeps saying "Run. Run. Run." Luca and Delilah eventually head back to his hometown of Firenze, where she meets his big, loud, warm, loving family, and she realizes she has never had any of that in her life...but it's too much, too soon. "Run. Run. Run." her inner voice says, while it's fighting the other voice, saying "Love. Love. Love." I have to stop here and quote Luca after his compliments made Delilah cry because she had spent her whole life not feeling good enough for other people's standards.

"You do not always see your own worth, I think. You are not so skinny as I think the American ideal of perfection is believed to be."..."I like you as you are...I would not like you so much if you were skinny, all sticks and skin. You have curves, you have a body to touch and hold...I am Italian, and we have different ideals of beauty. And you, amore, are my ideal of beauty."

I don't want to give away anymore, even though I have tons of great quotes highlighted, so I'll just say, read it!

Likes:

-I loved watching Delilah's journey, and seeing love sneak up on her.
-I enjoyed watching her self-esteem increase as well.
-It was a unique way of presenting the story, via journal entries.
-The sex was HOT, and didn't need a ton of kink to make it that way.
-I absolutely LOVED the way it ended.
-George and José were great, I wish I had more of them.
-Luca was totally awesome.
-I loved Luca's family!

Dislikes:

-I don't like books that are split like this. I don't mind "episodes" but a full novel split into 3 short novellas, to me should just be released as one book.
-Jasinda uses sexual expressions that I make fun of most writers for (and yes, I plan on making fun of her too). Luckily the story was good enough to overlook 3 of my biggest "no-no" expressions: "Throbbing manhood" (at least she didn't say "turgid"), "dew of my essence", "spearing the flower of my pussy".
-While I'm busy teasing Jasinda for her sex expressions, I have to say, she loves to mention "hot wet seed, spurting against my walls" (mentioned in the Big Girls books as well) Is it me? I never feel the squirt!?!?
-The journal entries seem like journal entries sometimes, and then other times it seems like Delilah would never write, nor would she know to write about the "sensitive patch of rough skin" (her G-spot), but this is explained by the fact that she reads a lot of erotic novels (though if she did that, why was she so uncomfortable at first?) But this can explain some of the wording used.

Rating: 4.25 stars, 4.5 Heat

Despite my not liking the split novella format and some of the sexual expressions, I really, really loved these books. I enjoyed watching Delilah's journey to love, not only for Luca, but for herself as well. I love that it took place in Europe, with a sexy Italian man. Luca was very much in control in the bedroom but was as thoughtful and wonderful as possible. There is a lot of sex, but the sex had heart, and I loved it. The end was just perfect, and I'm so glad the author ended it with Delilah moving forward, not stepping back.

I want to be Delilah. Yes, the sexy times are incredible but it is her bravery that has me sighing. I must read the next book.

Disappointing

As with the second book in the trilogy this is a mere continuation of book one.
It is not very good as a stand alone.

>>I stumbled upon this first book when I was surfing the free books on the Amazon site… probably one of my favorite past times!... I was unsure of what to expect, other than a sexy, short read. I knew that I was going to have to purchase the next few books, but I figured I would give this one a go, and see how I felt when I was done.

I was so excited to find a character that I could really connect with! Delilah is a curvy girl with a lifetime of self-esteem issues… surely anything a woman with any extra bulk can connect with. The ideal of beauty today is so hard to keep up with, so to read about someone who so truly loves herself anyway was a welcomed change.

We meet Delilah having just found her husband sleeping with the PASTOR’S WIFE! Obviously she is heartbroken, she gave him everything and he has, as we find out, been sleeping with everyone, including her sister. This is the starting point of Delilah’s story and what sends her out of the US with a one-way ticket to Rome.

Here she meets Luca, the epitome of sexy Italian men. He has a huge heart and is introduced when she saves her bag from a mugger, and becomes her “Knight in Shining Armor”. Their relationship sizzles… and I mean sizzles… so sexy! Their feelings grow for each other, quickly I might add, and it scares Delilah… sending her fleeing…and into book 2.

“After I found my husband boffing the church secretary, I got on a plane with a mission to get away from it all and figure out my life. Instead, I fell into the arms of sexy Italian wine-seller Luca, who rocked my world, and now I'm all kinds of confused.

I can't get enough of him, but the intensity of our connection scares me. The incredible things he does to my body scares me, if only because I like them so very much.”

Well I bought the final two books because I had to know how the story ended! (and let’s face it I deserved it after cleaning the house)

>>After an emotional exploration into the side of love and sex that sends Delilah running, we are relieved to see Luca come after her. He once again saves her life. It is during this book that their relationship really takes a turn towards the serious side of things. She heads home with him to Florence to stay with his family, which only furthers her concerns that she is getting in too deep too quickly with this gorgeously sexy man.

The relationship they have is one every girl wants. Luca utterly worships Delilah and everything about her. He has laid his heart on the line for this woman, that he has only known a few months, and knows she is his “one” but is trying to get her to understand it…. Which leads to her running… again… and into book 3.

“I called, and Luca came. And then he came again, and I came with him. The problem isn't sex. The problem is love, and If I'm ready for it again so soon. “

>>The final part of this story is absolutely wonderful. The last line of the previous book shows Delilah calling Luca from Paris… knowing she had made a terrible mistake running from him again. When he comes to her side he tells her he will not follow her again, if she runs this is over. This is really the moment that Delilah realizes, that while it has happened so fast, she needs Luca just like he needs her.

Their relationship continues to be utterly sexy and slightly enviable. Thankfully, after some deep soul searching, Delilah finally does realize she loves Luca and races, by train, to the vineyard he is checking in on to tell him that. It is on this trip, Luca finally asks to spend the rest of their lives together. It is completed with an absolutely wonderful wedding and happy ending.

>>I had hoped that there would be an additional book added to this series to give us an insight into how they are doing over there in Italy… maybe someday! I absolutely loved every part of these books. While they are very short they are oh so sexy and so enjoyable!

I just finished the Delilah's Diary series last night. What can I say? Jasinda Wilder never fails me, that's for sure! Once I started reading the first book, it was hard for me to put it down. I ended up reading the three books back-to-back.

I love how Delilah's character was built and transformed from an innocence into adventurous without making her being such a wild slut. She could explore her sexuality to the place where she wouldn't even imagine with grace. She's still a sweet, loyal and beautiful person afterall. Although I've never been divorced *knock on wood*, somehow I can related to her confusion, her fear, and her low self-esteem due to the way of her upbringing, until Luca appeared. O' Boy, how can I'm not falling in love with Luca....... and Italy? (This series made me want to push my Europe trip to one of my top priorities :) ).

Although, I wonder how Brad is doing, and what about her relationships with her 'make-over cavalry'. I also wonder if the series will continue (this is why I give 4 stars. I'll replace it with 5 when I know what will happen next. LOL).

Again, (I'm sure I'll says it A LOT more!), thank you for your beautiful writing, Jasinda. Thanks for keep bringing up the sexy in me.

3.5 stars

A nice conclusion to a fairly decent series. The beginning of the book was just more of what annoyed me about the last - lots of sex and not much else. However, when Delilah was finally able to get beyond her fears and admit her feelings for Luca the book finally became what I knew this series could be - a beautiful story of a woman discovering herself after years of being stifled . The best parts of this series were the time Delilah spent with Luca's big fat Italian family. Along with Luca, their acceptance showed her that she was worth loving and fine just the way she was. Although I would have loved to see Delilah go back to her podunk hometown with Luca by her side, I get that sometimes when you move forward it's better if you don't look back. Nonetheless, if she could have put her happiness on display for all of those who wronged her, it would have been the cherry on top of Delilah's sexy sundae of self discovery.

Oh gosh, where to start??? i don't want to give any spoilers away...but it is a sexy and super sweet story! I wished there were more though! Delilah's such a complex woman, but it's all due to the crap she had to endure for more than a decade.
But her heart was so ready for love to arrive and her soul was ready for life to begin. Changes always makes us feel unsafe and insecure...that was what i enjoyed most of this series, the fact that you can REALLY relate to her, to her doubts and fears.

Ladies and gents...this is a must for everyone!!! Dear Jasinda, you rocked this series!!! Thank you so much for Delilah...and mostly for the dashing, handsome Italian man...Luca ;-) I feel I'm in love :-D

Most definitely the best novella of the trilogy. Finally Luca demands answers from her instead of letting her continue with her childish outbursts all the time. In some ways, Deliah is not only naive, but incredibly immature.

I had to know how it ended and it definitely had a great ending. There was one particular scene, in Paris, that was by far my favorite of all 3 books, in terms of erotica.

Otherwise, its all the same erotica, the descriptions have gotten far cheesier and at times I simply skipped paragraphs because it sounded too soppy for a moment that was supposed to be sexy. And lets not forget (like the author obviously did), the horrible editing!

In the end of the road...i though that it was kind of sad how her parents just didn't care, but she found her home, people always say your home is where the heart is and Delilah's heart was with Luca!
Throughout the 3 Delilah's Diary's i must say all the sex scenes are amazing. Putting it blunt...its porn for women!
This Triology was the first Jasinda Wilder books i've raed and it made read all the Big Girls Do It series and the Billionaire Biker Boys serie...i'm currently deciding which one of Jasinda's books to read next, but i'm pretty sure i'm gonna read them all. ;)

Tension and Culture collide. a woman who gave her love to her childhood sweetheart, only to find out her love was misplace. now she changes her hair and clothes, but can she learn to trust again? will she run away from a man who is giving her his heart? oh, "this the book set delivers". hot sex, fantastic detailed story telling. I must tell you this set of books is the best I've read in a long time. this set of books needs a 6th star. enjoy!

All done! Please ma'am can I have some more? I really liked this series, I was just hoping Luca's ex would show up and cause a bit of drama. Or Harry or that other guy she met the first night or she called her gays (as they told her they was). I think it should have more of them. They should have came to the wedding! IDK something/ Don;t get me wrong it was a great story, I loved it and I do want more.

I'm not one for emotionally charged romances but this novel was everything I expected. And more importantly, it didn't feel forced in any way. Seemed normal, passionate and true. The main character appeared to be like any other woman with a broken heart and a hard time trusting men again. Luca was amazing and honestly? I want a Luca for myself too! The sooner the better! I loved the ending and I admit I was cheering every step of the way. Simply perfect!

Oh, how I love these kind of endings. The ones that leave you wanting to be there, to be one of them and finally having your happy ever after. Mrs. Wilder, as always, great books! I love in how something so short can put so much emotion. These kind of books have me addicted and even more with these kind of plots. Self-discovery and at ending, concluding like you expected.

PS. I totally loved all the Italian lines and sceneries.

Loved this conclusion (?) of Delilah's story eith Luca. He is one of my fave heroes of all time. The way JW wrote him showed his masculinity as well as his sensitivity without him seeming like a wimp or pushover. At the same time, she managed to write Delilah, who was emotional and had a tendency to bolt, as a sweet and vulnerable woman instead of a drama queen. Great read!

3.5 stars, good but not exactly my favorite.

Mostly because I still feel that Jasinda Wilder's style of writing in this book is kind of sloppy, even though at some points I liked it there are parts that made me cringed.

But overall I enjoyed it. Can't wait to read another books from Jasinda Wilder! :)
