I was given this book as a gift for an honest review.

WOW!!! much better than the first, and leaves a huge cliffhanger that has me ready to beg for book 3! Truly addictive series that had me up all night and not even wanting to put my kindle down long enough to cook dinner. Ended up cooking while reading, and anyone who wanted to talk to me had to wait until the chapter was over. Awesome storyline and cant wait to read more. Not your every day paranormal romance, very original and not at all clic

I’M IN AWE of the magnitude of story telling of Amanda DeWees.

*takes a deep breath* For the record I confess that I’m addicted to “The Ash Grove Chronicles”

Firstly I would like to give a HUGE thank you to Author Amanda DeWees for the opportunity to read for review this amazing series of hers!!!! THANK YOU

And here I go again as I immerse myself into book 2, Casting Shadows in The Ash Grove Chronicles. I absolutely loved “The Shadow and the Rose”, thinking that it couldn’t get any better. But boy

After the first pages, I realized that this isn’t an ordinary book. The characters were well developed and the rolls they played were very true to life. You can identify with the characters easily, especially with Joy. Amanda DeWees did an amazing job with this book and from my point of view, her writing it’s classy.
The book starts with sixteen year old Joy Summer, who is a student at the academy Ash Grove. Joy’s mother passed when she was just a little girl, and leaving her with her father who

Casting Shadows stars off where book one left off.

Well now that Melisande has been taken down you would think that Joy and Tanner would be able to enjoy their life and having a baby. But of course not what fun with this story be without some hidden evil agenda or some evil plot to ruin everyone's lives!

Overall this story had me captured from the beginning and held me throughout each page and chapter. There were some funny parts in here and some sad parts, and the ending! Wowzers. I so did not

This was even better than the first book. So much fun to read. Action-packed, character-developing, and really didn't hurt that it focused a lot on my favorite folks from the first installment.

The pacing was awesome. I had a hard time putting it down (my poor, neglected children). There were no dead spots, and even in the "slow" scenes I felt like you got a lot of character development. And this book just made me love Maddie and William more. I'm SO GLAD they were such a big part of this s

It is testimony to a good book, that when you finish the last page, you instantly want more!! Casting Shadows, the second book in The Ash Grove Chronicles was excellent. The tension was maintained, the mysterious Infernal forces left unresolved, leaving you breathless for the next instalment.

In some ways, this is unusual for a YA Paranormal. Normally by the second book, you know exactly which supernatural forces the characters are up against. Amanda DeWees has cleverly left this a little vague.

“Casting Shadows”, Book 2 of the Ash Grove Chronicles, by Amanda DeWees is a fun filled teenage thriller with some supernatural elements to add some spice to the plot. Pregnant Joy and her boyfriend Tanner, both still at school, have their hands full with fighting off interference to their life from parents, ex-boyfriends, problems in their circles of friends, school authorities and some mysterious supernatural being that one day shows up at their place as doppelganger of Tanner.

To be honest I though that this book would just take us through the trials and tribulations of Tanner and Joy. Much to my pleasure, it branched out to start a side story of Joy's friends Maddie and William. I loved the goth girl and the geek hooking up, was destroyed when the friendship blew up and he hooked up Sheila. The evil is very much afoot in this book, and keeps you guessing throughout the story.
I loved the deepening of the characters in this book, any questions I had were very much ans

Casting Shadows by Amanda DeWees

Rating 5*****

This book was provided by the author in exchange for honest literary review

Every do often I get my hands on a story I just can't put down. I relive the characters and their story over and over in my mind until I can picture each scene. For me, this was one of those novels. Joy is an amazing character. So deep and sensible, while remaining young at heart. Tanner and her have the most amazing relationship, because it isn't perfect, and there are troub

Omg!!! This was even better than the first book. I really enjoyed Tanner's character development in becoming more reliable and mature, it was so touching. This book had A LOT more drama than its predecessor, and minimal supernatural element. I'm not saying it was bad but I really hoped that this book would have fleshed things out more, without waiting close to the end. But somehow.... the drama worked. As always I loved Clark's comic relief, and the added POV's of Maddie and William. However, I ...more

Casting Shadows is the second book in the Ash Grove Chronicles. It takes off right where book one left off. Tanner and Joy are now living together and planning on how to raise their child together. They are worried about the effects that the succubus may have had on Rose. They finally get married and Joy's father does not seem to be happy about it. We also learn more about Maddie and William and find out that they are in fact in love. However after a one night stand it seems everything is ruined ...more

The second book in the Ash Grove Chronicles is terrific! The continuation of Joy and Tanner's story keeps the reader spellbound as they struggle to keep their love strong now that Joy is pregnant. Tanner is free of the succubus but evil still surrounds them. Was Melisande really vanquished or is she a threat to baby Rose? What is happening with William, a talented musician? Is his life in danger as Maddie believes or is she jealous of his new relationship With Sheila. The suspense is non-stop. A ...more

What a fantastic book!!!!!!

This book is the second in the series of the Ash Grove Chronicles and it certainly doesn't disappoint. The main character, Joy, is certainly someone who is very easy to like, although I waxed and waned regarding Tanner, her boyfriend. Characters from the first book have been expanded and given their own stories which helped keep the book interesting. At times I wanted to shout at the characters for their actions or behaviour which I think is always a good sign that a b

I must say its been awhile since I have been so hooked on a series. I just can't wait for book 3, I am also wrapped up in 2 other series as well.
But Casting Shadows was awesome. I read it in a little less than 2 days.
Love the new developments in this series but I was still left with a cliffhanger!!!

I received this book on a read to review basis.

Casting Shadows is the sequel to The Shadow and the Rose. Casting Shadows takes place directly following the events in the previous novel. Despite Melisande being taken down in book 1, Joy, Tanner and friends now face a new evil and threat in this book.

I really enjoyed the further character development of Maddie and William in Casting Shadows. I like how they were brought to the forefront and given a strong storyline. I also enjoyed learning more

Casting Shadows is the second in what I hope will be a long series. I’m in love with these books and the characters in them. I like this book even better than the first, “The Shadow and the Rose.” In addition to the continuing love story of Joy and Tanner, we have the rocky friendship-turned-romance of William and Maddie. It’s an initially star-crossed pairing against the backdrop of William’s budding rock-‘n’-roll career and Maddie’s acting career. There are life-altering choices, stunning betr ...more

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the series, but Casting Shadows just went to another level. I loved how we got to see much more of the other characters, and was able to connect to them all on a deeper level than in The Shadow and the Rose. Full of action and adventure, there was never a dull moment and I soon found myself turning page after page to see how things were going to work out with not only Joy and Tanner but Maddie and William. I can’t wait to see what happens in book 3.

Another hit!
Just as good as the first one! Following on From the shadow and the rose, chasing shadows doesn't disappoint! I enjoyed the two main characters, joy and tanner, just as much! Again a very addictive read! Great to see some of the other characters getting more of a storyline in the teen life soap opera of ash grove! I loved the relationships that followed on from the first and the new ones forming in the second! Read it to find out more! Very exciting ending with lots of fire and fear

I was given this for an honest review from the author. What can I say to keep you interested??
This was a great book, follows on from the first one. Following joy and tanner into the realm of becoming parents, dealing with being at school and strange things going on. Especially with the shape shifter, exciting stuff. Supernatural goings on, won’t give too much away but if you loved the first book this is a must read.

Amanda has developed the characters and the story is coming on and hope the serie

I was very pleased that this book showed more of the Maggie and William I just love them :)
Also I really liked the plot between the father and his soon to be son in law, I am sure every single father would not be thrilled that their 16 year old daughters get knocked up and the run to the alter :)
Overall I loved the story just as much as the The Shadow and the Rose. (but must say so far the first book is still my favorite)
The writing is excellent and the storyline easy to follow.

Not bad but it took me a while to get through. After reading the synopsis for the final book in the trilogy, I am less than excited. Most certainly not looking forward to reading it...but I feel like I have to finish the series. I'm definitely going to take a break though and get my zombie fix on!
