I think we must bear in mind that the author had resigned from MM and was a member of AA at the time that she killed two people while driving drunk. AA members kill people while driving drunk all the time--they just claim that they are not responsible because they have a disease and that they relapsed. Not that that is of much help to the people that they kill.

Ha! Didn't work for me. I don't think it worked for the author either. She killed a couple people while driving drunk a few years after publishing this book.
