This book had a very important topic--the influence and power of bullying on a ninth grade cohort, told from the perspective of a basketball player on the frosh team who is getting a crush on his cute science partner Liz, who happens to be best friends with a quiet girl who seems a bit different, is obviously not cool, and is reported to have snitched on one of the stars on the basketball team after he flipped the bird at a substitute who had her back turned.

I'm rating this book 3 stars because there was some thought and effort that went into it but all in all it was extremely disappointing given that AN ACTUAL ENGLISH TEACHER wrote it.

While is is probably not a book I will read again, it was too well written to give just a 3 star rating. I wasn't expecting it to be quite so serious (somber?) as it was.
