Life Minus 3 1/2 is one of my favorite books. Ever. This true story of a man in the grips of a gambling addiction, who embezzles over eleven million dollars, and gets mixed up with the mob and the FBI, is a fascinating tale told with honesty, grit, and humor. This book intrigued and captivated me on a number of levels. Being a CPA and former Chief Financial Officer of two companies, I was awestruck by the extensive period of time Dennis was able to perpetuate his fraud, all along duping management and the outside auditors. As a father, I could feel his pain and despair as he continued to dig a deeper hole for himself with each passing month and learning that one of his daughters was being teased at school because he was in jail. I thought this was an extremely well-written book that kept my interest from the beginning. Great story and happy ending.
This book held my attention throughout and taught me more than I ever thought I wanted to know about gambling. I appreciated the raw honesty at the end very much. Great book!
