Don't let the presentation fool you -- this is essentially a reference book rather than any sort of analysis. The scope is fairly encyclopedic, but don't expect to be entertained by reading it cover to cover. It also suffers greatly by some lax editing and proofreading.
A real sleeper, as to be expected I suppose from a book under the "Facts on File" banner ... but somehow they made movies that were censored for reasons of sex, violence, treason, drugs and religion sound positively dull. Took me six (SIX!) months of jumping in and out of this one to finish, but finish reading it I did. Strictly for reference only, and as a potential guide to investigate films that might escape your purview if looking for movies that the Catholic Church termed as "indecent." Fun Fact (which is not in this book since it is whimsical and this title is as dry as Zesta Saltines in the Sahara): The great John Waters used to use the Catholic Legion of Decency's banned list as a guide who what to see as a teenager.
