I am truly conflicted about how to rate this book. On the one hand, the writing is a bit amateurish to be honest. On the other hand, I had a blast reading this. It made me smile and I really didn’t care that it wasn’t sophisticated.

The story is about a young boy, Wilde, and his father. After Wilde’s mother passes, the pair are gifted a boat made of gold which they use to sail to a magical island. To say that this story requires suspension of disbelief is an understatement. Setting aside all the

I'm working on revising this story. I'm afraid there won't be a new ending, or perhaps there will be just a bit more to it, but I'm focusing on the mechanical aspects as well as giving a hard eye to things reviewers have pointed out. I'm a good ways through already and hope to finish by early to mid summer.

I'd like to thank everyone here and on Amazon for their reviews and the valuable feedback in them.

The Golden Ship is a story that is filled with many improbabilities. Certainly it’s important as a reader to suspend your disbelief to better enjoy a book, but there’s only so much that you can ask of your reader. For example, I found it difficult to believe that cutting edge cancer research is going on in Africa, or that a family would send their loved one, who is near death, alone on a plane ride to such a place.
