So while the message of this book is ultimately body affirming, the diet culture stuff in it was ROUGH and yeah, that was the point but man.

A fun read
Amy Andrews's writing style flows easily, engaging the reader with 2 likeable and believable characters, her trademark humour and a deceptively simple plot : 2 persons with a lot of baggage on a road trip through the Australian outback.
World renowned photographer, Kent Nelson, is suffering PTSD after his last war zone assignment went wrong. Sadie Bliss is an aspiring journo, but an upcoming interview with the famous painter Leo Pinto - her ex- lover - is playing havoc with her self- confidence.
The only thing Kent and Sadie agree on is to disagree on everything. Their attraction is strong from the start but they don't act on it, making the slow development of their love more believable.

Driving Her Crazy by Amy Andrews
Sadie Bliss is trying to make her big break as a journalist when she is offered a job to interview her ex lover Leonard Pinto. Her boss wants her to travel cross country with famed photographer Kent Nelson and also write a piece about their road trip.
Kent Nelson agrees to photograph Leonard Pinto but he refuses to fly. His editor agrees to his cross county trip but only if he takes along journalist Sadie Bliss. With Kent suffering from PTSD, after a helicopter accident in war torn Afghanistan, and Sadie who suffer motion sickness this trip is about to get very interesting.
The character of Sadie suffers from a lack of self esteem especially after having Leo is a “poor excuse” as a lover. Convinced she needs to lose weight before facing Leo she is munching on celery sticks and carrots and drooling over the junk food and burgers that Kent is eating on this road trip. Why she ever wanted to impress Leo is beyond me. He came across as controlling, selfish and not much of a lover from the description of him.
I did enjoy the banter and laughter with these two. And the scene in the bathroom at the hotel with the spider had me in stitches. I was laughing very hard. Both Sadie and Kent are withholding secrets. And at some point they are going to have to learn to trust each other in order for this relationship to work.
This was a very enjoyable read. I really loved the idea of sleeping under the stars and making love on the roof of a land rover in the Australian Outback. It made me wish, I could afford to travel to Australia and take a road trip.

At first I didn't think I was going to enjoy this book, because sometimes you never know when a damaged tight-lipped alpha male will be an arsehole from top to bottom. Fortunately, Kent was redeemable.. This is a slow build romance, with the first kiss not being made until almost two thirds through the book but it is okay because the verbal sparring and inner workings of the characters are entertaining. When the kiss does happen, you're almost as excited and surprised as the heroes. The fears, desires, and concerns of the characters felt real not cartoonish. I could relate to heroine Sadie Bliss's concern over the size and shape of her body.
This is the first Harlequin KISS title and I've read. I would rate the sexiness level of the KISS imprint solidly between Harlequin Presents and Harlequin Desire. I'd buy another title in the future.

I love Australian settings and this is some road trip through Oz. Amy Andrews's style is easy flowing and her story engaging. The h/h both have issues; Kent suffers PTSD after his photojournalist work on the front lines ends in disaster and an award winning photo. Sadie is out to prove herself but she has to interview her ex-lover, a famous painter and her self image is suffering. She and Kent disagree about just about everything and yet there is something pulling them together. Hours spent travelling through the great Australian outback will either make them or break them.

This is my first book by this author and I am really happy to have discovered her, because I so loved this book.
Sadie and Kent’s story is believable, lively, entertaining and satisfying. Amy’s prose is evocative and expressive and her dialogue is great. I loved the description of the journey through the Australian centre and having experienced how magnificent the night sky is when you are out there with no lights - it was great to have that recreated.
I loved the focus on just the two of them with the side sweep to Leo, (oh I disliked him intensely), and I loved the fact that they got their happy ever after. It was done very fast so I would have liked an epilogue because I felt the story needed it. So 4 stars instead of 5.

Driving Her Crazy by Amy Andrews begins with Sadie Bliss an up and coming reporter and Kent Nelson wounded war photo- journalist being given an assignment to do a feature on a reclusive artist Leonard Pinto and capture some shots of the Australian outback in the bargain. Though there is some initial resistance to the idea, both Sadie and Kent decide to go along for the ride as each of them have a few personal demons to slay.
This book also gets bonus points for giving me an Aussie education; thanks to Amy I’ve learnt a few new Aussie slangs:Swag (sleeping bag), wagged (playing hooky), kip (nap or short rest). And found myself a new dessert in Lamingtons ;) (Lamingtons are little sponge cakes coated in chocolate and grated coconut. A traditional Australian treat!)
If you are a fan of road trips, wide open spaces, beautifully flawed characters and looking to add to your summer reading list I would definitely recommend Driving Her Crazy by Amy Andrews.

Sadie deliberately ticked down the minutes until two hours were up before turning to Kent and yanking on his ear bud.This book was a very easy read to get into, I loved the whole Australian outback experience, Amy did a wonderful job describing the journey and the settings, they were vivid and easy to visualize as the story flowed through.
‘Let’s make a deal,’ she said.
Kent raised an eyebrow. ‘Bet that was the longest two hours of your life.’
‘Nope. Two minutes in a bathroom with a mutant spider was much longer.’
‘Okay, so let’s see if we can go another two, shall we?’ he suggested as he located his swinging ear bud.
Sadie shook her head. ‘We’re not going to sit here all day and not talk to each other again.’
Kent flicked a glance at her, then back at the road. ‘We’re not?’
Sadie shook her head. ‘It’s ridiculous.’
Kent shrugged. ‘It was working for me.’

Whoa!
Mi sa che mi butterò più spesso sui libri dalle orride copertine...
Una jeep, un uomo, una donna e il loro viaggio. Che cosa chiedere di più?
La trama italiana non dice granchè, anzi parla solo della voglia matta che Sadie ha di assaggiare delle patatine.
Cioè, sul serio, si può?Nessun doppio senso, solo la stupida conseguenza dell'aver passato due anni tra le braccia del famoso artista Leonard Pinto, che ha piantato in lei il seme del "magro è bello".
Pinto aveva fatto di Sadie la musa ispiratrice dei suoi quadri, mettendola a stecchetto e osannando fino allo sfinimento il corpo ormai esile della giovane, tutto spigoli e ossa, facendole credere davvero di essere bellissima. Sadie bellissima lo era anche prima, un seno prosperoso e delle labbra da far pensare che fossero frutto di sedute di chirurgia estetica, e un corpo da sballo per cui i ragazzi hanno sempre dato segni di apprezzamento. Ma cosa fare quando un talentuoso artista ti dice che sei perfetta con meno pochissimi chili addosso e sei ancora solo una ragazzina?
Del tempo ne è passato da allora, adesso Sadie fa la giornalista per Sunday On My Mind e viene incaricata di occuparsi di un intervista a... Pinto, accompagnata dal fotoreporter di successo Kent Nelson, sparito dalle scene in seguito ad un terribile incidente che lo ha segnato per tutta la vita.
Un viaggio on the road, tra cieli stellati e hotel in cui trascorrere la notte in attesa della grande intervista. Un viaggio all'insegna dell'arte, che aiuterà Sadie e Kent a superare enormi ostacoli che hanno condizionato la loro esistenza, a trovare nell'altro un confidente, un amico, un amante in grado di abbattere barriere che nessuno dei due sapeva di aver eretto.
Caspita se non è stata una piacevole sorpresa!
I clichè ci sono sempre, questo è ovvio.

"Vorremmo due stanze per la notte"E nella suddetta stanza - che NATURALMENTE prenderanno - aver modo di sognare di toccarsi, baciarsi ecc.
"Mi dispiace, ma ne abbiamo soltanto una disponibile."
Ma è davvero un romanzetto ben scritto, scorrevole al massimo ed in grado di trasmettere qualcosa in più rispetto agli altri. Se trovo altri libri della Andrews, non ci penserei due volte a fiondarmici! :P

Wounded hero, chatty insecure heroine, road trip across Australia. In this case, a recipe for awesome. I stayed up late for this book (and was cranky the next morning, obviously). It was enthralling and engaging. You can picture this being a nice, sweet romantic movie – just the right amount of adventure and sensuality with two wonderful characters.
Kent is the strong, silent type. He was injured as a photographer in a war zone and this was the first assignment he's taken since recovering. I liked that he was a good guy, generally ok with whatever, just doesn't like to talk. He and Sadie had some good, tension filled moments throughout their drive.
Sadie was really tough and seemed like a real go-getter, but had a lot of trouble trying to people-please. She has an eating problem, but it only manifests when she thinks someone will judge her for her size (in this case, an ex-boyfriend). Kent was able to convince her that she was beautiful just the way she was and it was quite an “awww” moment as she finally saw herself through his eyes. It was great to see her gain some confidence and go after what she wanted.
I love the Australian setting. All of the differing landscape, phrases, and foods were really fun for me to read about and twitter was great for the rogue phrase that I couldn't figure out. Where else will you learn about a jolly jumbuck?!

I wasn't really sure that Kent groveled enough for my liking and he did some stuff that was a little douchy, but Sadie was willing to forgive him so I forgave him too. We meet Sadie, a woman trying to prove herself in the world of journalism whose bombshell looks are a constant struggle to overcome. People automatically assume she has lower IQ and is a pampered princess. Then we have Kent who is a world renowned photojournalist who is recovering from his time as an embed with soldiers overseas. he came back mentally and physically broken. She and Kent are forced together to travel to their next assignment.
This is surprisingly an emotionally complex story even tho it is fairly short. Sadie has more complex issues about her body that was instilled an ex lover who happens to be the next assignment. She was always told she is not thin enough. Kent is suffering a lot more than he lets on from his injury and PTSD.
Over the course of the car ride across country, he eventually shows her how beautiful she is and in turn he gets his photographing mojo back.
I really give this 3.5 stars. It was very good.

Nice contemporary romance that had some interesting points about body image and the lengths women are pushed to for approval. Lest you think it's all afterschool special there is also some fun dialogue between Sadie and Kent, and Kent comes with some heartbreak and issues of his own. I'd give 4*s for most of the book but I found the ending a bit abrupt for my taste. I can't go from they've broken up over some real issues to HEA or even HFN within a couple of pages. Sometimes the category length makes me feel that way. But I still enjoyed the book and Sadie & Kent's journey through the outback and towards each other.

-Sexy yet insecure heroine who is proving herself after a relationship gone wrong.
-Arrogant, closed-up hero who, despite his cool exterior, lusts over the heroine while pushing her away because of his traumatic past.
-Slow build in the relationship
-Romantic outback experience
The gist of it. But, i was kind of disappointed with the abrupt ending. A good read. 3 stars!

This was awful....I can't figure out how it got an avg rating of over 4 stars. The characters were obnoxious, and waaaaay too obsessed with the size of the girls chest. It was annoying and obnoxious and a LOT over blown.
The only reason I finished this is because I was able to skim 75% of this and I paid for it. I hate not finishing books I pay for.

This was a fairly quick read, which covered a couple of serious issues - post traumatic stress syndrome for the hero & poor self image for the heroine. At the same time, there was sexual tension & the relationship grew at a satisfying pace. There were some hurdles, but they got the HEA.

OMG!!! I don't have words... I've never quiet read another one like this. Easy going and deep at the same time. My first thought was does anyone have those many curves as the sassy heroine. Leo came across as an amateur and spoiled and I was just disgusted at his behaviour towards the Heroine.

Meh. Some humorous writing and interplay, but... There is a huge age gap between hero and heroine. The heroine is a diet obsessed, immature girl whose body image is shaped by a man who was emotionally abusive. The poor body image doesn't even make sense since she dresses to hide her pinup body so people don't judge her professional ability.

Storiella ultra light infarcita di argomenti seri che non vengono assolutamente approfonditi (peccato, ma stiamo pur sempre parlando di un Harmony), scritta abbastanza bene e scorrevole, ma che alla fine non mi ha lasciato nulla.

Amy Andrews is a great writer, but age difference is one of my pet peeves and 12 years are too many imo.

I love a good road trip story. This one was ok, the characters were a little too standard without being loveable. Maybe it’s what some would consider common for category romance but I’ve read better.

Disappointing - The first Amy Andrews book I read was Devil and the Deep. It had good tension, believable attraction, interesting background story and was a fantastic quick read so I couldn't wait to crack open another Amy Andrews...
Driving Her Crazy kind of drove me crazy. Interesting premise - hot older guy snarky pretty girl on a road trip for a few days through Australia. Suddenly she is insecure and he waffles like a defrosted eggo between ignoring her and staring at her lips and boobs.
Sorry - I thought the premise was creative but it never came together.
