Love it

I love the book I just read. My favorite part was when the book started because it was a mystery.

Skye's first library pick today. She saw Elmo from across the library and ran for this book. She pointed out each character on every page by name and was excited to see what Grover and Elmo were making with their friends. If your tot loves Sesame Street, they'll love this one!

Synopsis: "Elmo and Grover are borrowing things from their friends to make a mystery creation. Boys and girls ages 4–6 will want to find out what it is in this Sesame Street Step into Reading Step 1 leveled reader."

My Review: This is really weird for me because several of the other sesame street books that we have are far more advanced than this Step 1 book. It is a very busy story but the beginning readers will really enjoy seeing their favorite characters in the story.

Basic Plot: Elmo and Grover encounter a bunch of friends and make a kite.

There's some fun word play in this short book, and I like the fact that it does show the basics of making a kite. A smart parent/child team could definitely re-create the process and end up with a fun activity for an afternoon. The illustrations are bright and clear.

Other than that, though, this is a largely forgettable book. It's cute, but there's nothing significant or quirky enough to really make it stand out from a pack of other Elmo-branded books.

This is excellent! Z really comprehended what was going on, and wanted to talk about it at the end. Very cute book.
