This book was really amazing!!! I enjoyed reading it for one of my class projects to read a book. I recommend it to other kids like me. I really liked the message behind this book were it shows how Skeeter shows these 2 kids how to shoot and hunt. I like how this book shows how equality, justice, education, and racial understanding. Through them learning to hunt and shoot Skeeter shows them his life story from back in the day. Totally Recommend.

WARNING : Entire review done by an 8th grader. And it has Opinions.

Skeeter was an ok book, but it could have been a great book. It just focused too much on Skeeter and it didn't have the good bonding stories that these kinds of books thrive from. The only thing close to it was an argument on the best baseball player and Skeeter crashing a moped. The ending didn't deliver either. After a missed shot from Steve, Skeeter gets charged by the giant buck and will soon die from heart failure. Loretta comes and talks about him then Steve and Joey go to bed really sad. They wake up in the middle of the night and the last line of Skeeter was : "Steve stood on one side of the bed, Joey stood on the other. It did not last long. The final sounds, then release." There were no last words, it wasn't a very good way to die, and that was all they said about him dying. It just wasn't meaningful. Then there's an awkward funeral, Steve executing a mule, and burning down Skeeter's house. I was just ready to finish the book at that point. Still, it's a short book and it had some funny parts, so reading Skeeter isn't the worst idea.

This is a great book I read it in a week. Perfect size for me 208 pages its older but good. It shows history and segregation but still shows my favorite thing hunting. I would recommend to this book to anyone.
