Narrative of 12-year-old Savannah Clarke who must travel in a covered wagon train with her parents and sister Faye from Missouri to California in 1850.
My daughter went to a presentation by France's Jenner tonight at the Erie library. We purchased her book because it is a great lesson in Social Studies and covered wagon train life crossing from Missouri to Sutter's Fort, CA. I love that the author and her husband along with their dog walked the entire 2000 miles of the CA. Trail as research for her book. Looking forward to this one.
A beautifully written book! Narrator Savannah Clarke's vivid imagery carries her reader along for the journey filled with challenges she would never have thought she could survive.
