HEART OF STONE
For centuries, Malcolm has struggled against the forces of darkness—and bears the scars to prove it. Hardened by a lifetime of fighting, he is more warrior than man, incapable of feeling love or compassion. But one stormy night, he pulls a beautiful woman from a car wreck—and experiences a rush of fiery emotion that could melt even the hardest of hearts.

3 1/2 "At Last" Stars!
I have enjoyed this series so much but in this one, I was so OVER Jason Wallace and his ott evilness, I was ready to kill him myself. Plus Evie got on my NERVES! She really was tstl- over and over. Malcolm's "I've done terrible things. I'm not a good man." attitude drove me batty! So why continue reading this one? Because it was the series finale. After 15 books, I had to know how it all worked out. Turns out, even with how much the mc annoyed me, I liked how the series was ...more

3.5 stars. Good ending to the series and I've been waiting for Malcolm's story to see how this tortured soul gets a HEA. I don't think this is a spoiler, but more a general comment that the plot devices to lie, characters concealing information and running away from problems and trying to solve said problems on one's own only to end up in deeper sh*te...has grown tiresome for me. If "some" characters would actually have a three sentence conversation about their issues, they wouldn't get themselv

WOW, just WOW!!! Donna Grant has done it again and although I am sad this amazing series has come to an end, with the exception on the holiday novella, I don't feel there was much more Donna could have done to make Midnight's Promise any better. Malcolm is a highlander in every sense of the word. I fell in love with Malcolm the first time we met him in Forbidden Highlander. Yes, it has been a love-hate relationship, but I always knew Malcolm would find his destiny and what he truly deserved in l

Awesome ending to this series of the Dark Warriors within the Dark World. Once again, loved the Dark Kings being a part.

Donna Grant takes a different approach in the eighth book of the Dark Warriors series. Malcolm is a dark character, one who is angst ridden and burdened with this guilt that weighs him down. As he distances himself from the people who care about him, readers form an emotional attachment to this wounded warrior. It isn’t until he saves a woman from a car crash that he feels something stirring within him once again.
Evie is a descendant of druids so she has the ability to be the vessel ...more

Malcolm and Evangeline...
An awesome ending to an awesome series. Even though poor Malcolm had to endure horrific experiences with death, he got his HEA.
To he honest, I wanted to slap Evie a few times for being so naive and uninformed - but... I managed to warm up towards her in the end.
Awesome storyline and characters! Loved every second of the journey...

My thanks to the publisher for giving me an ARC of this book to review.
Donna Grant gives the readers a thrilling ending to her stellar Dark Warrior's series. The author did an outstanding job on this book, making it a story to remember. For this reader .... it was a stunning tale about the healing power of love.
Malcolm is the most volatile and unpredictable Warrior. He is riding the edge. Consumed by bitterness, anger and grief. He's done some things that are hard to live with. As this book ope ...more

A Great end to a fantastic series! Donna sure knows what we as readers want! It all wrapped up nicely. I was grinning and crying at the same time. It's sad to see a series come to an end but I know we haven't seen the last of the warriors and the druids who complete them. I do hope we see them appear in the Dragon King Series!

If htere was an option I'd have given it 10 stars... This book was an fitting ending to the series. Hats off Donna Grant... As far as I can remember no story had me sitting on the edge, anxious to know the next twist of the story. Beautifully written :)

What a long journey... Needed a HEA and it happened. I'm still wondering if Tristan will connect the Dragon Kings with the Warriors. Guess I need to get started on Ms. Grant's Dark Kings series.

The last book of the series has enough "oh no!" moments to keep readers on their toes to the last page. Time is running out for Malcolm. From the moment Drierdre's warriors nearly killed him, leaving him maimed and therefore unacceptable as a laird, Malcolm has been lost. Then when the evil druid released the god within him turning him into a warrior and made him do her bidding, the last of his humanity was lost. After centuries of doing evil in Dierdre's name, Malcolm no longer feels. His emoti

Writing style is getting a little boring, this has been a long series with too much predictability for my tastes. Wish she would try to mix it up a bit. Not sure that I will continue on to the next series.
I just felt too many times that she developed these characters in past books, but then doesn’t know how to bring them to build onto each other to make the series stronger as each book comes out, with the exception of a few warriors. Malcolm finally gets his chance at love in this book.
Evangeline Walker put up a web site to display a necklace that has drough magic in order to see if there are other drought out in the world. Her site was hacked, so she went on the run. Malcolm found her and followed her to Cantoole mountain. (She hears rocks and they told her to come. )

I kept putting his one off as I just wasn't quite ready to say goodbye to the Warriors, even though I know we will see them again in the Dark Kings series.
I enjoyed this one, I was waiting from almost the first book to finally get to Malcom's story. Thank god that psycho got wtf came 2 him again!! Even though she was tricked she stayed good so she was able 2 withstand the evil so much. Even though phelan was trying 2 protect his friend he realized what they told him about being in that same situation. Malcolm might b scared but it showed how he overcame and prospered and became a much better man and was able 2 have good supported alleys whether he liked it or not cause of his stubbornness. Lol I hope there's a book about her bro Brian and a

Well done! The many layers of relationships, from loyalty, love, betrayal to brotherhood were tested and then some. I was a nervous reck and at the same time annoyed by how many times can one be fooled, ugh....
I loved Malcom’s story and I knew it was hard to see him anything but a pawn, driven by guilt and anger. The camaraderie had to be mentioned because these highlanders and dragons knew no other ways. The plot was fast and exciting but it was the characters that glued series perfectly ...more

This novel is #8 in the series, "Dark Warriors" by author; Donna Grant. This was an awesome ending to an amazing series. I absolutely loved how the Dark Kings were very much part of this novel and their key role they played in building their alliances with the warriors and druids. This journey in the series has been great and the epilogue was wonderful! I loved it! Beautifully written! On to the next journey with the "Dark Kings". I highly recommend this series, novel and author. You won't be di

Going into this book I wasn’t at all interested in Malcolm’s story, and Midnight’s Promise didn’t change my mind. I was not impressed by Malcolm, and Evie was too stupid to be likable.

With how powerful Jason Wallace was his ending was anticlimactic. I did like the little update at the end on how each warrior and Druid chose to live. I do hope they make some cameos in the Dragon series.

Lately, I've been getting annoyed with the female characters. I loved Donna Grant books and these last few books, the female leads are terrible. Evie is probably the worst one for me. Made it so hard for me to read this book. I expected more. Now onto the last book and maybe the characters would be better in the dragon king series.
