Well, I didn't like this book as much as the first one. I also have to admit I'm liking the TV series a little more and it kills me to say that because I'm sure TV will one day eat my brain (if it hasn't already).
I just couldn't ignore some of my complaints about the series this time around. I mean, the mystery part of it is still really really good. I have absolutely no flippin' clue about what will happen next. But I'm not liking the girls as much. Is it me, or are they becoming even more air- ...more

You are probably thinking - what are you doing giving this book 4 stars, when you've been giving 3 stars to way better books left and right.
Let me explain:
- As I've admitted earlier - this is my guilty pleasure read.
- Yes, the writing is bad (although it has improved greatly from the 1st book).
- Yes, the dialog is patchy and undeveloped at times.
- Yes, the topic is silly and ridiculous.
- But, it totally held my interest and I couldn't put it down! I loved all of the twists and turns.

Flawless by Sara Shepard
There's really not much I can say about this book, having already seen the TV-Show, nothing was a big surprise, but I still really enjoyed it because I just love Sara Shepard's writing!
In this book we had the big 'Foxy' benefit dance, which was kind of like homecoming (I think it was homecoming, anyway) in the TV-Show.
I can't wait to see what happens in the next books, and I'm really hoping for a lot more character development, and a larger development between the 4 girls ...more

It was OK. The girls are so nasty but somehow, I still want to find out what's going on in Rosewood. On to the next book!

I'm really gutted by how disappointing this book was for me; especially considering how amazing I thought the TV series adaptation is.
The book tried too hard to emphasize the glamour and high sophistication of Rosewood and everyone who lived in it, that it became so superficial, and the characters unlikeable - they were portrayed as being somewhat vapid and shallow - especially Hanna and Spencer, two of the most sharp-witted girls of the group with very strong personalities on the show. Ok... so I did like this book better than the first one. That’s not saying much but it’s definitely an upgrade in my humble opinion. That is why I gave this book a three stars.
The same annoyances I have of the first book are largely still in this novel. Some not so bad as the first book and some even worse since this is a sequel after all!

Hi, Are you a teenage girl? Then rush out and buy this steaming pile of crap. Are you a fan of the TV Series and not a teen girl? You'll most likely hate this novel as well. While the show took the basic premise and made it good, it's clear why this series never really took off until after the show came out.
None of the characters have a single redeeming quality to them. Yes, they come off as having multiple layers but in the end they are just as shallow as any real life pretty girl. I also feel ...more

What was that ending????
I'm so confused.
Ok so book two. Ali's body has been found, the funeral held, and A has made the first move. While the four girls still aren't what you would call friends, they are finding themselves thrown back together as they try to figure out just who A is.
I will say, all of these girls are kind of horrible and self-centered. They just really aren't likable characters. That being said, they are LOADS better than the horrible parents that plague this series. Racism, fav ...more

So book two was still pretty good. It has been so long since I watched the show that I am finding myself intrigued all over again. I mean, I know the main players and I remember a lot of what happened but not everything. It is kind of cool going back and reading it because I am actually finding some things I missed while I was watching the show. In this book, we have a lot more drama, a lot more suspicion, sudden friendships and just as sudden death. They ALL have secrets that only Alison knew a

So I have already read the “Pretty Little Liars” series including the add-on ones. I don’t really like Shepard’s writing, but her storylines are pure gold. I am going to do the reviews of the “Pretty Little Liars” books a little different. I plan to ask questions as I read the series again and see when (or if) the question is answered. I’ll hide them with the spoiler code so you’ll have the choice to spoil it for yourself! I’m doing way too much for this series, but hey, I like to analysis thing

Thanks to Books2Door for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Since reading the first book this summer, I was excited to get into this second book. I had never expected to give the first and/or second book 5 stars, but I did! I can just easily devour these books and it's so well written and has good pacing. That makes it effortless to read these books pretty fast.

Are you kidding me? I'm so mad at myself everytime this happens with Shepard's books. This is yet another book that ends in the middlr and, guess what? It was no where near as good as book #1. I could leave right now and be happy (which, if we are being honest, is mostly because I read book #0.5 which I'm fairly certain gave everything away..)

Hanna, Emily, Spencer, and Aria's lives and (usually bad) choices, require readers to be prepared for drama-filled revelations and fiascos; luckily, I was able to leap into that formula for every chapter! Usually, I have a hard time sitting down and reading multiple chapters of a book without getting bored; however, in the case of Flawless, I was so absorbed in each girl's storyline that it didn't even occur to me that I was almost done with the book until I was on the second-to-last chapt ...more

Have you ever felt like someone was watching you? This is exactly what four Rosewood Day juniors feel like after they have been receiving haunting messages, IMs, emails and texts, from an unknown person going by ~A. Spencer, Aria, Emily and Hannah hadn't talked ever since their best friend, Alison DiLaurentis, went missing in seventh grade. Spencer stole her sister’s British boyfriend, but is falling apart at the seams. Spencer is an all A student but after all of the distractions, from Wren an

MY THOUGHTS
I don't have extremely high feelings towards this series so far, but I did like this book and think it was a great sequel.
Spencer, Aria, Emily, and Hanna all have their own secrets that are spiraling out of control. What's worse is that a person called 'A' keeps sending them messages and threats to unleash their secrets. Some secrets that only Alison, their best friend that went missing years ago, knew. Second time read on May 2020 - Rating 3 stars
This second one also had decreased one star in this second reading, maybe I just feel different about the story and everything now that I'm a bit older. It's a fun read and is making me curious to find out who -A is (if it's going to be like the show or not - remembering I've only watched it until season 4). This book was published in 2007 so I try to ignore some of the main issues it has (fatphobia, slut shamming and soooo on), because it's still loo ...more

Book two of the Pretty Little Liars series
She's dead. Allison DiLaurentis was found in a hole in her backyard. Someone threw her in there. But who?
The story became more riveting in the second installment of Pretty Little Liars. It kept me guessing every free second I had. Why would someone kill Ali and why would someone scare 4 girls in Rosewood?
Spencer has every reason to kill Ali. She has always been jealous of how easily Ali gets everything handed to her. Leaving perfect Spencer, not so perfe ...more

Flawless definitely lived up to its name - flawless!
Sara Shepard has such a way of speaking to the reader and making it seem like they are right in the action. I found myself not wanting to read at night because I got so paranoid! That's the kind of book I crave.
