The evacuation of children from British cities to the countryside is a well-known facet of World war II. What's perhaps less widely known is the story of children who were evacuated to boarding schools.

Dear Cedric... is the semi-autobiographical story of Patricia, sent away to Normanhurst in Shropshire at the age of six in 1940 and destined to remain there for the duration of the war.

Charming true story: Dear Cedric is about an only child who is sent to an "evacuation boarding school" in England during WWII. The children were sent there to keep them safe, away from the bombings. It is a true account of the author's childhood, including photographs. There were so many wonderful things about this novel, including the deeply spiritual experiences she had with a dear friend from the school, and her voice as the writer was quite endearing. I was quite impressed with what I read thus far. Storyline grabed me quickly and left me wanting more. Where can I get this lovely book? I am refering to The Winds Of Destiny.
